What is Bonfire Night?
First things first, a quick history lesson.
Bonfire Night, also known as Guy Fawkes Night, commemorates the failed Gunpowder Plot of 1605, when Guy Fawkes and his fellow conspirators attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament and failed.
You might wonder what the hell this has to do with online slots, but us slot enthusiasts are often slaves to the seasons, from Christmas slots to Halloween spins, always looking to something to play to celebrate a big event or holiday.
Bonfire Night might only be a smaller-scale celebration relevant to the UK, but it’s by no means any less explosive!
If you’re looking for some slots that bring the fireworks to the reels, keep reading as we round up some of our favourite games for November 5th.
Best Slots for Firework Night
Down the Rails – Pragmatic Play
We’re kicking this list off with a trip back in time to the Big Smoke, courtesy of Pragmatic Play’s Down the Rails.
One of their more underrated slots, this quirky, history-inspired game dials up the British stereotypes to the extremes, with a cadre of historical figures rocking oversized snozzes and buck teeth as we journey through London and past some of Britain’s most recognisable landmarks.
Random features can activate during the base game, including Tunnel Vision, The Big Smoke, Wild Strike, Shifting Stack, and Bonus Blitz, while the bonus game takes players on a whistle-stop tour through some of the most city’s most iconic Tube stations, such as Kings Cross and Canary Wharf, with each station having unique mechanics.
While Guy Fawkes isn’t one of the few famous faces featured in this game, Down the Rails is feels like a propa’ British addition to our Bonfire Night collection.
Fireworks Megaways – Big Time Gaming
What’s Bonfire Night without a few fireworks? And we’ve got an absolute belter for you, set off by Big Time Gaming.
This is Fireworks Megaways, an explosive and colourful spectacle featuring up to 117,649 ways to win, using the iconic Megaways engine.
The game combines cascading symbols with its Firework Wild Bonus, which randomly lights up one of four Extra Reel positions. Land the corresponding coloured firework in the illuminated position and watch it transform into a Wild, with different colours bringing their own effects.
Things get even more explosive once you enter Free Spins as two Extra Reel positions are illuminated on every spin, while an unlimited multiplier increases with each Firework Wild Bonus triggered for a proper display. The maximum win of 150,335x your bet is also a cracking amount to end a spin with a bang.
Firework Fusion – Slingshot Studios
Not all fireworks need to make a big bang to put on a good show, and Firework Fusion from Games Global studio Slingshot Studio is the perfect example.
At first glance, it looks fairly simple with its colourful beachside carnival setting, but there’s plenty of features waiting to pop off, starting with the five friendly firework characters perched above the reels.
Each firecracker is connected to a different feature: Wild Multipliers, Extra Wilds, Walking Wilds, and three fixed jackpots with multiple combinations available. There’s also a Hot Mode feature that can activate during the base game, increasing the chances of triggering the various (fire) cracking features.
To top it all off, there’s also the Feature Upgrade Trail, awarding additional multipliers for collecting Scatters, which directly feeds into the starting multiplier in the Free Spins round, adding a little extra spark to the fuse.
Bangers! Firework Fruits – Apparat Gaming
Who needs sparkers when you’ve got bangers? Apparat Gaming brings together two British classics in one, and no, we’re not talking about bangers and mash. We mean classic fruit machines and fireworks in Bangers! Firework Fruits.
This 5×3 slot keeps things nice and simple with 10 fixed paylines and a high-volatility setup. The fruit symbols also feel perfectly apt for when you’re munching on some toffee apples.
Everything seems simple enough on the surface, but the Exploding Wilds feature is where the fireworks come in – exploding to transform all surrounding symbols into Wilds for some juicy combos.
Between the traditional feel and explosive animations, this one feels incredibly nostalgic – perfect for some Bonfire Night spins.
Truth – Shady Lady
What would Bonfire Night be without a few conspiracy theories? While the Gunpowder Plot might be ancient history, Shady Lady‘s Truth suggests there could be more to life than meets the eye…
This weird and wonderful slot takes inspiration from some of the internet’s most popular conspiracy theories, with everything from drone pigeons to 5G mind control and other wacky concepts you may have heard on TikTik.
The theme carries over into the gameplay, with four random Conspiracy Features in the base game, adding unique modifiers. There’s also a Free Spins mode that takes you straight to the Truth Realm, with a maximum win potential of 20,000x your bet.
Whether you think Bonfire Night was an inside job or that the government framed Guy Fawkes, Truth feels like an wry way to round off our Bonfire Night selection!
