As Senior Marketing Manager at PearFiction Studios™, Janine Copperstone brings over a decade of iGaming expertise to one of the industry’s most creatively ambitious studios.
Known for her strategic mindset and hands-on approach, Janine has made it her mission to ensure PearFiction’s unique voice, and its beautifully crafted games, shine in a crowded marketplace.
We sat down with Janine to chat about their next release, Pots O’ Loot™ – the forest festival slot that redefines the leprechaun.

Mark: Your next release, Pots O’ Loot™, drops next week. Give us the quick pitch: what’s the vibe, what makes it different, and how did the idea of a forest festival full of leprechauns even happen?
Janine: It’s folklore meets music festival, basically Coachella in the woods for fantastical creatures.
The whole idea started with a simple question: What if leprechauns didn’t guard gold… they threw a festival with it? From there, in true PearFiction fashion, it spiralled into a full-blown forest rave called Lootapalooza, headlined by The Gold Diggers, our two leprechaun bonkers brothers.
The tone is whimsical pandemonium, and completely tongue-in-cheek. It’s not your typical “luck of the Irish” slot. It’s bright, high-energy, character-driven, and full of rhythm and mayhem. We don’t do serious. We do seriously fun. (I think I just came up with our catch-phrase!)
Mark: Pots O’ Loot™ clearly has leprechauns, but it doesn’t feel like your typical Irish-themed game. What inspired you to take it in such a wild, festival direction?
Janine: That was very deliberate. With the many Irish themed slots in the industry we wanted to take a different direction, revamping the leprechaun and giving the myth a proper PearFiction Studios™ twist: modern energy, humour, and plenty of fun for players.
We started asking, “What happens when folklore lets loose?” And the answer was… a folklore fever dream. Pots O’ Loot™ mashes up Irish charm, Latin fiesta, and a psychedelic woodland rave. It’s folklore gone off-script, surreal, funny, and a little too much in all the right ways.
Mark: Tell us about these two leprechauns: they’re not your average rainbow-chasing types, are they? Who are they, and what’s their deal?
Janine: Meet The Gold Diggers, our two leprechaun brothers, headlining Lootapalooza.
They’re not slick or glamorous; they’re a bit awkward, a bit overexcited, and absolutely in over their heads. One’s the life of the party, loud, happy, bouncing off the stage like he’s running on pure sugar. The other one looks like he got dragged there against his will, that cousin who didn’t really want to come, but now he’s stuck holding the tambourine.
Together, they somehow make it work.
They’re the heart of the game and weirdly endearing. When they get going, coins fly, mayhem kicks in, and suddenly you’ve got a full-blown forest party with piñatas, glowing mushrooms and unicorn onesies!
Mark: How do you balance humour with solid game mechanics? Pots O’ Loot™ feels packed with personality but still plays smoothly.
Janine: Our philosophy’s pretty simple: form = function = fun
Every animation, every joke, every over-the-top moment has to serve gameplay. We don’t do random bedlam, we do structured mayhem. The Collect system, for example, is visual and intuitive. It’s easy to follow, but still full of those “just one more spin” moments.
The humour works around the mechanics, not over them. Our math, design & sound teams deserve all the credit. They make sure the experience feels enjoyable, building personality into the mechanics, not on top of them.

Mark: PearFiction’s known for its feature-rich titles. What kind of mechanics or bonuses can players look forward to this time around?
Janine: Every spin feels like a new act on the main stage. We’ve got Collect & Double Collect, where the leprechauns grab coin values right off the reels, and if both land, the rewards double. The leprechaun collect feature can also increase coin values or add coins or wilds to the reels, and can throw the luminescent mushrooms into their respective pots to potentially unlock modifiers, elevating the game experience.
We also have the FinnTastic Zone that can award multi-coloured multipliers to the cash values on screen over multiple spins. Topping it all off with a Bonus Wheel for Free Spins and Jackpots, you have a layered spin spectacle with serious potential.
Mark: Does the game include any nods or Easter eggs for fans who’ve followed PearFiction’s previous titles?
Janine: We love a good Easter egg. You’ll spot visual and audio nods to Bunny Loot™, Squealin’ Riches™, and 3 Lucky Hippos™.
The unicorn onesies are a cheeky wink to Bunny Loot™, and there are hidden details in the background art, banners, props, and even a few inside jokes for players who’ve been with us a while. The art team has way too much fun with that stuff. Let’s just say… if you know, you know.
Mark: Visually and musically, this one feels like a full-blown party. How did your art and audio teams bring that festival energy to life?
Janine: The goal was to make it feel like the game’s throwing a party around you, not just a themed slot with a few flashing lights. The art team really went for it: the forest moves, the lighting shifts like a real stage show, and every spin feels like something’s happening just out of frame. It’s busy in the best way.
The audio side followed that same energy. We started with traditional fiddle and pipes, but layered in festival beats and bass lines, so it goes from “folk tune in the forest” to “full-blown woodland rave” as you play. Each feature kind of has its own track, like different acts performing at the same event.
We didn’t want it to look or sound like another Irish game; we wanted it to feel alive.
