Mark: Triple Train Express™ clearly draws inspiration from the hugely popular “3 Pot” style, a mechanic that has become one of the most popular formats in online slots over the last few years. What made Snowborn Games want to put its own spin on that formula?
Jenny: We already have many Power ComboTM and pot style games in our slot portfolio, this style of mechanic has performed very well for us, so we already knew there was something that really worked in that type of gameplay.
With Triple Train Express™, the aim wasn’t to reinvent the format completely. It was about taking a mechanic we strongly believed in and giving it a fresh identity. The train theme allowed us to approach the gameplay from a new angle, with a very different visual style and atmosphere, while still keeping the familiar core features that have made the format work.

Mark: The game features three distinct bonus symbols with different functions: Boost, Multi, and Collect. How did the team approach designing these features so that each one feels impactful on its own?
Jenny: The main goal was to make sure that each symbol felt valuable on its own. Every bonus symbol should feel like it means something when it lands.
At the same time, the biggest moments happen when the symbols start working together. A Boost can be exciting, a Collect can be thrilling, and a Multi can be dynamic, but when you combine them, that’s when the feature really comes alive.
Mark: The Golden Bonus symbol acts as a combination of all three bonus mechanics. Was this always part of the original concept, or did it emerge as the game took shape?
Jenny: The Golden Bonus was part of the concept from the very beginning. We’ve always liked the idea of having one symbol that represents the strongest possible version of the game’s bonus mechanics. When the Golden Bonus lands, it signals immediately that something significant is happening.

Mark: Triple Train Express™ introduces the Express Feature, which can randomly award bonus setups or enhanced outcomes before the reels stop. What role does this feature play in shaping the overall game experience?
Jenny: The Express Feature adds a bit of variety to the overall experience. Normally, the pots build up over several spins, so there’s a clear sense of progression as you get closer and closer to a bonus.
The Express Feature occasionally shakes things up by accelerating that process. Sometimes it can help complete a setup much faster than expected, which keeps the gameplay unpredictable and adds another layer of excitement to the game.
Mark: The game includes four fixed jackpots including a 5,000x Grand Jackpot. How important was it to have those top-end prizes when designing the bonus experience?
Jenny: Having a top prize is important because it gives the bonus feature an extra level of excitement. Even when the focus is on collecting values and building the pots, there’s always that possibility of something much bigger.
The Grand Jackpot helps define the game’s maximum potential, while the other jackpots provide additional targets along the way. Together they help make every bonus round feel like it has something meaningful at stake.
Mark: The Cash Boost feature has an escalating value mechanic – the Red Bonus symbol keeps growing with each reactivation. How does that build-up shape the tension of the bonus round?
Jenny: The Cash Boost feature is one of the most exciting parts of the game because every reactivation increases the value of the Red Bonus symbol. Each boost can lead to an even bigger reward than the last, creating a growing sense of excitement and making every reactivation feel more significant.
Mark: Beyond the 5,000x Grand Jackpot, the game features a full jackpot ladder – Mini, Minor, and Major. How important was it to offer multiple prize tiers rather than just one top prize?
Jenny: We felt it was important to offer different jackpot levels rather than putting all the focus on a single top prize.
The Grand Jackpot is obviously the standout prize, but having Mini, Minor, and Major jackpots creates more opportunities for rewarding moments. It creates a range of possible outcomes and makes the jackpot system feel more accessible and engaging overall.
Mark: The train theme has been explored many times in slots – what’s the Snowborn stamp on Triple Train Express™?
Jenny: That’s true, train themes have been popular for a long time, which is one of the reasons we wanted to explore our own version of it.
What made it especially interesting for this game was how naturally it supported the pot mechanic. The trains gave us a very clear way to visualize game play. As they move closer and closer to the player, it builds excitement. It almost creates a race between the three trains, and that ended up becoming one of the most enjoyable aspects of the presentation.
Mark: If Triple Train Express™ is remembered for one thing, what do you hope that is?
Jenny: I hope it’s remembered as a game that takes a familiar mechanic and presents it in a way that feels fresh and full of personality.
It’s built around a classic slot foundation, with recognisable symbols and straightforward gameplay, but wrapped in a very colourful and energetic presentation.
We wanted it to feel bright, optimistic, and easy to pick up, while still delivering the level of polish you’d expect from a modern Snowborn game. The trains themselves are a mix of classic steam locomotives and a more neon-inspired look, which gives the game its own visual identity.
