Dork Unit Base Game and Features

Dork Unit is a 5 reel slot with 16 fixed paylines. In order to form a winning combination, you will need to connect 3 or more of the same symbol types from left to right, starting from the left-most reel. The minimum bet available here is £/€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol in Dork Unit is the Strawberry, followed by the Apple, Carrot, Lemon and Cherries. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten. There is also a Gift Box symbol which substitutes for all symbols except Lenny symbols.

Gift Boxes

During any random spin in the base game, Gift Boxes can land in any position on the reels. Gift Boxes are Wild Multipliers that come in 3 different kinds, Common Gift Box, Rare Gift Box and Epic Gift Box.

All Common Gift Boxes always show their multiplier value, but the Rare and Epic Gift Boxes will only reveal their multiplier value when they are used as part of a winning combination. All winning combinations that either Gift Box is part of will automatically be multiplied by their revealed multiplier value. If more than 1 Gift Box is used as part of the same winning combination, their respective mulipliers will be added together and applied to the win.

• Common Gift Box – Can appear as Wild, X2, X3 or X4.
• Rare Gift Box – Can reveal a x5, x10, x15 or x20 Multiplier.
• Epic Gift Box – Can reveal a x25, x50x, x75, x100, x150 or x200 Multiplier.

If at any point you manage to land 3 Gift Boxes in the same spin, the Gift Bonanza Bonus round is awarded. The placement and Mutliplier values of the Gift Boxes is carried over to the Bonus round.

Gift Bonanza

Once the Gift Bonanza Bonus round is triggered, you will be awarded 3 Respins which will reset each time a new Gift Box lands in view.

Each time a Gift Box lands in view it will become Sticky, remaining in its fixed position for the duration of the Gift Bonanza round. The round will end when no more Gift Boxes land in view and the Respins counter hits 0.

Dork Unit: Dork Spins

Landing 3 Lenny symbols in any position on the reels triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 10 Free Spins.

During Dork Spins, Lenny symbols can only land on reels 2, 3 and 4. Each time a Lenny symbol lands in view it will Expand to fill the entire reel and become a Wild Dork Reel. Any dork reels that may land will remain expanded until the end of Dork Spins.

With each new Free Spin, 1 of 3 Dorks will drop into each expanded Dork Reel bringing with them a random Multiplier value, as follows.

• Tiny Timmy – Awards either x2, x3 or x4.
• Hefty Hector – Awards either x5, x10, x15 or x20.
• Long Lenny – Awards either x25, x50, x75, x100, x150 or x200.

If more than one Dork Reel is used as part of a winning combination, both their Multiplier values will be added together and applied to all wins for that particular spin.

Dork Unit Bonus Buy

For those outside the UK, you may Benefit from a Bonus Buy option.

The Bonus Buy gives you a choice of 3 Options, which are as follows.

• Featurespins – Choosing this option gives you a 6x chance of triggering the Gift Bonanza Bonus. This option will cost a total of 3x your current bet and has an RTP of 96.41%.
• Gift Bonanza – Activates the Gift Bonanza Bonus for a total cost of 100x your current bet. The RTP when choosing this option sits at 96.38%.
• Dork Spins – Activates the Dork Free Spins round for a total cost of 200x your current bet. The RTP when choosing this option sits at 96.35%.

Dork Unit: Our Verdict

Hacksaw Gaming are forever switching up their themes from cute and cuddly to dark and thrilling, and it’s pretty obvious which catergory Dork Unit falls into. Like us, you may have gotten used to seeing Hacksaw Gaming’s darker side in titles like Hand of Anubis and Itero Echospins but for now it seems they have taken a little time out.

Although the theme is a lot tamer than we would have liked, there is still plenty of excitment to be had in Dork Unit. Staying true to themselves, Hacksaw Gaming has stuck to their guns by including similar features like Multiplier Wilds that we’ve seen in many of their previous titles. If you were looking for something new, you won’t find it here unfortunately.

In terms of satstistics, Dork Unit has an above average RTP of 96.24% and an appealing 10,000x maximum win capacity on offer. Again, these kinds of statistics are something we’ve come to expect from a Hacksaw Gaming title. If we’re honest, most Hacksaw Gaming titles offer the same kind of statistics and gameplay so the only decision you need to make is what kind of theme you fancy.

Overall, Dork Unit might not be your cup of tea in terms of theme, but it certainly has what you’re looking for in terms of potential.
