Remember when you were younger and you would dream of fluffy clouds, magical unicorns and super colourful rainbows? Well we didn’t but you might have. Regardless, Hacksaw Gaming has gone out of their way to make those dreams a reality in Double Rainbow.

Hacksaw Gaming are the proud owners of a variety of popular titles such as Chaos Crew, Cash Quest and King Carrot, so where will Double Rainbow fit in among these? Double Rainbow is pretty, imaginative and full of potential, with Rainbow Reels, Multiplier Clouds and the Full Rainbow feature all waiting for you to enjoy. Double Rainbow has certainly captured our attention in terms of features, but how about looks?

Although slots are for adult eyes only, the theme of Double Rainbow is quite literally every little girls dream. But since most of us are still kids at heart, we feel that this kind of theme will be as appealing to us now as it would have been when we were younger. Even though we can’t touch the background, it just looks so fluffy and soft. Double Rainbow Betting and Symbols

Double Rainbow has a variety of betting options for players to choose from. For those who prefer a lower stake, the minimum bet available is £/€0.10 per spin. For those who prefer a higher stake, the maximum bet available is £/€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two.

There is no need to look out for the highest paying symbol in Double Rainbow, this is because every single symbol is equal in terms of value.

Double Rainbow Base Game and Features

Double Rainbow is a 7×6 Video Slot with a Cluster Pays mechanic. In order to form a win, you will need to connect 5 or more of the same symbols either Horizontally or Vertically.

Double Rainbow features Cascading Reels. Each time a winning combination is formed, all winning symbols will be removed from the reels and new symbols will fall down via a Cascade, filling all the empty positions and possibly creating even more winning combinations.

Special Symbols

Double Rainbow has Special symbols that can land during any random spin in the base game, these are as follows.

• Multiplier Clouds – Landing a Multiplier Cloud, reveals a random Multiplier and is added to the corresponding reel Multiplier.
• Normal Clouds – Landing a Normal Cloud will activate the Rainbow Reels feature, if it not active already. It then adds a Multiplier value of x2, x3, x4, x5, x10, x15, x25, x50, x100 or x250. In addition to this, it also awards +1 Free Spin where all active Rainbow Reels remain active.
• Double Rainbow Clouds – When a Double Rainbow Cloud lands, it will award a Multiplier value of x2, x3, x4, x5, x10, x15, x25, x50, x100 or x250 to all active Reel Multipliers. In additon to this, +3 Free Spins are awarded which keeps the Rainbow Reels active.

Rainbow Reels

Double Rainbow has 7 colourful reels, one for each colour of the rainbow.

In addition to this, each reel also has its own unique Multiplier that is applied to all wins that match the colour of the corresponding reel, whilst the reel is active.

Landing a Cloud symbol on any of the reels will activate the Rainbow Reel feature for that reel.

Full Rainbow Feature

Once all Rainbow Reels are active, the Full Rainbow feature is triggered.

Once this happens, all awarded Reel Multipliers are multiplied by either x2, x3, x4, x5 or x10.

An additional +5 Free Spins are also awarded, which keeps all Rainbow Reels active.

Double Rainbow Bonus Buy

For those outside the UK, you may benefit from a Bonus Buy option.

• 1 Rainbow Spin – Each spin gurantees a minimum of +1 Free Spin, with 3 activated Rainbow Reels and a starting Multiplier of x4. Choosing this option will cost you 10x your current bet. The RTP for this option increases slightly from 96.38% to 96.41%.
• 4 Rainbow Spins – Each spin guarantees a minimum of +4 Free Spins, with 3 activated Rainbow Reels and a starting Multiplier of x4. Choosing this option will cost you 50x your current bet. The RTP for this option decreases slightly from 96.38% to 96.27%.

Double Rainbow: Our Verdict

We’re not quite sure who Double Rainbow is for…It can’t be for children, so that just leaves Bronies? We’re joking…or are we?

Double Rainbow isn’t exactly the sort of slot that you’ll enjoy the look of if you’re a tough individual from the streets like Hacksaw Gamings very own Cranky and Sketchy from Chaos Crew…but I guess we were all aware that Hacksaw Gaming like to bring a diverse portfolio to the table. Chaos Crew, Harvest Wilds, Xpander, Wanted Dead or a Wild and Toshi Video Club couldn’t really be more different from each other in a lot of ways, and it would be difficult to guess that they’re all the result of the same group of individuals over at Hacksaw HQ, but they are, and we kind of love that about them.

Double Rainbow may not be quite to our taste if we’re honest (although the Piano tune does slap), but you never know what to expect, and that kind of gets you excited for the next one when you consider that it could be ANYTHING.

Potential wise, Double Rainbow isn’t as quite as potent as some other Hacksaw titles with 5,000x win potential, but we doubt anyone would mind too much if they were to bag themselves a cool £/€1,000 on the minimum stake. It’s hard to envision a scenario where 5,000x might happen though, if we’re honest.

Double Rainbow has no ‘Free Spins round’, but rather a Rainbow Spins round that would be relatively cheap to buy if you’re within an area that allows bonus buys.

Overall, If you can bear the sickly taste of love and affection that inevitably goes hand in hand with ponies, then you might well enjoy Double Rainbow. We’re sure the Double Rainbow guy from YouTube would love it, but everyone else may be on the fence.
