Sgt Henry Freeway is known for his ruthlessness in a bid to keep the highway safe. Drive carefully out there, and don’t get caught in his roadblock.

It’s not the first time we’ve hit the road with ELK Studios. Their older release Route 777 had us feeling young wild and free, but now we’ve got the police to contend with.

Freeway 7 – Base Game and Features

Freeway 7 is a simple 3 reel slot with 17 pay lines.

The minimum bet is £/€0.20 per spin, and hte maximum bet is £/€100 per spin. Wins are formed by 3 connecting symbols along any of the 17 acive lines.

The highest paying symbols are the Triple 7’s with the American flag, followed by the Red 7’s, Blue 7’s. Bar, Watermelon and Cherries.

Win values in the Base Game aren’t that substantial, as you’d expect from a slot with only 3 reels, but there are some features here, like the Road Block Nudge Feature

Freeway 7 – Roadblock Nudge Feature

The Roadblock Nudge Feature is triggered with identical symbol combinations on reels 1 and 3. Respins are awarded where reels 1 and 3 step down one position for each reelspin, while reel 2 spins as normal.

If the first and third reel hold bonus symbols, they will be nudged towards the middle row before locking.

Freeway 7 Bonus Game

The Bonus game with a multiplier feature in Freeway 7 is triggered with 3 bonus symbols.

The bonus game begins with all symbols in a symbol matrix. Winning Free Spins will award additional Free Spins if the winning symbol is still active, and the multiplier increases before the symbol is deactivated.

Three bonus symbols will retrigger the game, add more Free Spins and reactivate all symbols

The Super Bonus of Freeway 7 works much in the same way, but the multiplier starts at a higher value, and the symbols never deactivate. The multiplier increase related to a win is also larger.

Freeway 7 Slot – Our Verdict

ELK has proved that they can make even the simplest of slots exciting before, but have they done it again?

They displayed their aptitude in making even the simplest looking slots exciting in Toro 7’s which was surprisingly good with its simple yet effective features and its rave music. Speaking of which, ELK seems to put a particular emphasis on the music of their slots with banging tunes on just about every release, and Freeway 7 is no different.

It feels like the sort of music Sgt. Henry Freeway might be listening to as he hides his patrol vehicle behind a billboard ready to snare anybody that dares to break the laws of the road. He’s ready for anything, and the music conveys it.

In terms of features, Freeway 7 is good, but its relatively weak in comparison to other slots from the ELK portfolio. The Road Block Nudge Feature can be pretty decent at times, but Free Spins is really where it’s at, and the Super Bonus is even better.

Deactivating symbols in the normal mode has you feeling a little deflated, so for non-UK players without a bonus buy option it might not be a great prospect, and the 94% RTP might not help appeal either.

Overall, Freeway 7 feels fairly standard in comparison to the creative genius that we usually experience in ELK games, but it’s worth a few spins for sure.
