Grim Reaper Supermatch Slot Review

With Halloween just around the corner, Games Global partner Nailed it! Games has let Mrs. Reaper out for some fun in their latest release, Grim Reaper Supermatch!

Halloween is celebrated for many reasons, but if we’re really honest with ourselves, it’s all about binge eating a ton of the kids’ Trick or Treating sweets when they’re tucked up in bed.

Grim Reaper Supermatch has a fitting theme given the upcoming celebration and is a game that may well tickle your fancy any time of the year. Slots like Halloween Horrors Megaways will no doubt be shelved until every 31st October, but there’s no telling where Grim Reaper Supermatch will end up.

Rome Supermatch set the bar high, but will Grim Reaper Supermatch continue its legacy? Let’s play on and find out!

Bet Boosters

where permitted, you will be given the option to activate 1 of 2 Bet Boosters; Stacks & Moons and Always Match. The Stacks & Moons Bet Booster may well be considered a Bonus Buy option, therefore it may not be available to those in the UK.

  • Stacks & Moons – Spins row 1 with Mystery and Scatter symbols only, guaranteeing one of these features will trigger. This Bet Booster will cost 20x your current bet.
  • Always Match – Guarantees 3+ matching symbols on row 1 for 4x your current bet.

Spreading Wilds

During gameplay, Spreading Wilds can land on rows 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, substituting for all matching symbols. When they appear, Spreading Wilds will cover the entire row they land on with Wilds.

Mega Respins

When you reach the 6th row, uncovering a matching symbol will activate the Mega Respins feature. During this time, all matching symbols will become Sticky, whilst all other symbols are respun for a chance to achieve greater wins.

Mega Respins will continue to be awarded so long as there are new winning/matching symbols revealed in a Respin. Mega Respins are available in both the base game and Free Spins round.

Halfway Bonus

When you reveal a matching symbol on the 3rd row, the Halfway Bonus will trigger. The Halfway Bonus will award a random Bonus feature from the following list.

  • Second Chance – Respins 1 row that didn’t reveal a matching symbol, or all rows if the Mega Respin feature didn’t reveal a matching symbol.
  • 15 of a Kind – Transforms all non-winning symbols into matching symbols on rows 1-3.
  • Symbol Upgrade – Transforms all winning symbols on rows 1-3 to a random Higher-paying symbol. This option cannot be awarded if the winning symbol is already the Highest-paying symbol.
  • x2 MultiplierDoubles the symbol win at the end of the spin.
  • Soul Booster – Adds between 1 and 5 Blue Souls to the Soulcatcher Chest during the base game, or 1-5 Red Souls to the Free Spins Soul Collection during Free Spins.

Mystery Stacks

Uncovering 3 or more Mystery symbols in the initial row triggers the Mystery Stacks feature. Each Mystery symbol will expand to fill between 1 and 5 positions, forming a stack of up to 6 symbols.

All Mystery symbols will reveal the same High or Low-paying symbol at the end. This spin continues with guaranteed matching symbols on the revealed positions.

Soulcatcher Bonus

At the start of gameplay, between 2 and 8 Blue Souls are spread out across the rows at the beginning of each spin.

If a position with a Blue Soul is revealed, it will be collected into the Soulcatcher Chest. Your chances of triggering the Soulcatcher Bonus spin are increased with each Blue Soul that is collected.

During the Soulcatcher Bonus, 1 Spin is awarded with a special set of Gem symbols in play. At the end of the spin, the symbol with the highest amount will award the following Jackpot Prize.

  • Purple Gem – Awards 10x your bet.
  • Yellow Gem – Awards 40x your bet.
  • Red Gem – Awards 200x your bet.
  • Blue Gem – Awards 5,000x your bet.

If 2 or more Gem symbols have the same amount in view, the Highest-paying Jackpot Prize is awarded. The Soulcatcher Bonus is only available during the base game.

Grim Reaper Supermatch Free Spins

Landing 3, 4, or 5 Scatters on the first row triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 10, 15, and 20 Free Spins respectively.

During Free Spins, between 2 and 8 Red Souls are distributed across the rows at the start of the round. When a position is revealed that holds a Red Soul, it will be collected into the Free Spins Soul Collection meter.

Grim Reaper Supermatch: Our Verdict

If it’s tons and tons of different features, mechanics, and modifiers you’re after, Grim Reaper Supermatch does not disappoint. We love it when a Provider delivers something completely different to other Providers, and Nailed it! Games has…well nailed this one!

Spreading Wilds, Mystery Stacks, Mega Respins…the list goes on and on. With so many exciting features to keep you busy in the base game, it’s hard to pinpoint a favourite.

For players who are new to slots or those who like to keep gameplay low-key, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by all that happens here and therefore may want to stay clear of Grim Reaper Supermatch for the time being.

There are so many ways in which you can win big here, and this is further extended to the Free Spins round. Aid Mrs. Reaper in collecting Souls and you shall be rewarded with additional Free Spins and removal of the Lowest-paying symbols.

All in all, Grim Reaper Supermatch has a little something for all kinds of players and their specific preferences in terms of gameplay, but sometimes a little goes a long way and Grim Reaper Supermatch can leave you feeling slightly overwhelmed.
