Gritty Kitty of Nitropolis Base Game and Features
Gritty Kitty of Nitropolis is a 6-reel Video Slot with up to 262,144 active ways to win. Wins are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.
This game can be played for as little as £.€0.20 per spin, up to a maximum of £.€100 per spin, with multiple options in between the two. Gritty Kitty of Nitropolis has a theoretical RTP of 94.00% and a max win cap of 25,000x.
The highest-paying symbol here is Gritty Kitty, followed by the Maneki Cat, Tea, and Fish. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and Ten. Wilds substitute for all High and Low-paying symbols.
The Max Rows Feature can trigger on any random spin, expanding the reels to a maximum of 8 Rows high. Paytable symbols and Wilds can appear in sizes of 1×1, 2×2, and 3×3, known as Big Symbols. Big symbols pay the same amount as regular 1×1 symbols they cover. If Big symbols cannot fully drop down, they will either crush 1×1 symbols or split up into smaller 1×1 symbols.
Feature Reel
A special Feature Reel sits directly above the main reel set, comprised of 3 rows, 6 reels, and a mix of Feature symbols and empty positions. With each new spin, symbols in this reel slide into view from the right. Feature Reel symbols only become active when they drop onto the main reel set.
- Nitro Upgrade – Upgrades the number of symbols in Nitro Reels on the same reel or adjacent ones. If there are no Nitro Reels, the feature will remain pending until a Nitro Reel appears.
- Nitro Match – Replaces all symbols within the Nitro Reels with a matching paying symbol chosen at random, affecting Nitro Reels on the same or adjacent reels. This feature will remain pending until a Nitro Reel appears.
- Nitro Wild – Replaces all symbols within Nitro Reels with Wild symbols, affecting Nitro Reels on the same or adjacent reels. This feature will hold until a Nitro Reel appears.
- TNT Symbol – Removes all paying symbols on the same or adjacent reels. TNT symbols activate when there are no more wins in view.
- Wild Symbol – Acts as a regular Wild, substituting for all High and Low-paying symbols.
- Big Coin – Awards an Instant Prize payout when it covers the entire Feature Reel.
Each time a win forms, all winning symbols except Nitro Reels are removed from play, making room for new symbols to drop in via an Avalanche Feature. Each reel that included a win will expand by +1 row, up to a max of 8 rows high. Symbols in the Feature Reel above empty positions will drop down into the main reel set.
Nitro Reels
When in view, Nitro Reels will cover two symbol positions, containing 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12 identical 1×1 paying symbols. A big Nitro Reel will always cover 6 symbol positions, containing 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 identical 2×2 paying symbols.
Assassin Spins
Assassin Spins trigger when an Assassin symbol covers the entire Feature Reel. Once active, only Coin symbols, Nitro Reels, TNT symbols, and Blockers are in play.
During Assassin Spins, 3 Refilling Spins are awarded. Each time a new symbol lands in view, it will reset the remaining spins back to 3. All Coin symbols are persistent during this time, and their values are collected at the end of the Assassins Spins round. Landing a special Golden Collector symbol during this round will collect the values of all Coin symbols currently in view.
Gritty Kitty of Nitropolis Free Spins
Landing 3, 4, 5, or 6 Bonus Scatters in the base game triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 8, 10, 12, and 14 Free Spins respectively.
During Free Spins, all Nitro Reels that land become sticky, remaining on the reels for the duration of the round. Landing 3 or more Bonus Scatters during this time will award additional Free Spins, The number of additional spins is determined in the same way as the initial Free Spins trigger.

Gritty Kitty of Nitropolis, the first in ELK Studios of Nitropolis series takes players on a captivating adventure through Nitropolis. Set in the dystopian suburb of Tokyotown, the game’s aesthetics and storyline are both imaginative and engaging.
To receive an individual game for each character was quite a surprise, and we think Gritty Kitty of Nitropolis starts the series right with dynamite mechanics, great potential and that unmistakable Nitropolis feeling that things could kick off at any given moment. So many different cogs work in unison to deliver a varied and interesting game, and though Gritty Kitty of Nitropolis is not the first in the whole series, it feels fresh, new and exciting.
A standout aspect of this game is the Feature Reel, which introduces additional elements like Nitro Upgrades, the beloved Nitro Wilds, and the thrilling TNT Symbol, all contributing to dynamic gameplay and potentially big wins. The Assassin Spins and Free Spins rounds are the game’s crown jewels, offering players high-intensity action with the potential for significant payouts, especially with the sticky Nitro Reels during Free Spins. The X-iter options are a commendable addition, giving players the flexibility to tailor their gaming experience, albeit at a higher cost. This of course, is locked for UK players, but even without bonus buys we feel like Gritty Kitty is a very playable game with a great base game.
