Base Game & Features
5 Wild Wolves is the slot release from 4ThePlayer, featuring 5 reels, 4 rows, and 1,024 ways to win. Winning combinations trigger when 3-5 paytable symbols of the same kind appear on reels 1-5, on adjacent reels.
The highest-paying symbol falls to the Wolf, followed by bears, mountain lions, horses, owls, raccoons, and A, K, Q, J, & 10 card suits. Each winning sequence produces a fixed payout between 0.05x and 0.25x your bet.
Furthermore, the game can reveal Wild Symbols that substitute for all paytable symbols except Scatters. Wild symbols appear on all reels except the first, without a fixed payout.
Lastly, Gold Coin symbols appear atop any paytable symbol available on the reels.
Boosting Fortunes
To the left of the main reel frame are 5 Fortune Prizes. During gameplay, multiple Gold Coin symbols can appear atop a random paytable symbol, excluding Scatters. Each Gold Coin is collected and applied to 1 or more Fortune Prizes, boosting its current value between 0.05x and 0.5x your bet.
On a spin where 1 or more Gold Coin symbols appear, there is an increased chance of triggering the Fortune Bonus, which acts as a Pick Feature. Once active, players can pick an object to reveal Tokens for 1 or more Fortune Prizes.
Players can continue picking objects until 3-of-a-kind Fortune Prizes are revealed. When this occurs, the associated Fortune Prize is instantly awarded from the following:
- Mini: 8x – 100x your bet
- Midi: 12x – 200x your bet
- Super: 100x – 500x your bet
- Mega: 300x – 1,500x your bet
- Ultra: 1,000x – 5,000x your bet
After a Fortune Prize is won, it will reset back to its default prize setting.
Wolf Stack Multipliers
In the base game or Free Spins mode, special Wolf symbols can appear as a single symbol or a stack of 4 on the reels.
When a 4-high Wolf symbol hits, it will automatically trigger the Wolf Stack Multiplier feature. Located above each reel is a unique Wolf Stack Multiplier between x3 and x25. The current value replenishes with each spin.
Once a 4-high Wolf symbol is in position, it will take hold of the current Multiplier above its respective reel, acting as multiple symbols on the reel during the win evaluation. For example, a x10 Multiplier will denote that there are 10 Wolf symbols on that particular reel.
The maximum number of Wolf symbols that can appear on all 5 reels is 42,000x across 1,024 ways to win.
Bonus Buy
Non-UK players can choose between the following Bonus Buy options:

5 Wild Wolves Free Spins
When 3, 4, or 5 Scatters appear within a base game spin, it triggers the Howling Free Spins mode, awarding 8, 15, and 25 Free Spins, respectively.
In this round, Wild symbols will expand to fill their entire reel as a single Wild symbol, receiving a Wild Stack Multiplier between x2 and x20. The awarded Multiplier is then added to the active Wolf Stack Multiplier above the corresponding reel.

Our Honest Verdict
If there’s one thing we’ve come to really admire from a 4ThePlayer release, it’s the sheer beauty and detail they put into the design. The backdrop in 5 Wild Wolves reveals a stunning nature scene with high-quality graphics and equally impressive animations.
After a successful run of 5 Wild Buffalo and 5 Wild Buffalo 2, 4ThePlayer has chosen to implement the Boosting Fortunes mechanic into another of their releases, only this time, we’re howling at the moon instead of rampaging through nature.
During gameplay, each Fortune Prize can be boosted, with the Ultra Prize able to reach 5,000x your bet. This particular mechanic is a great way to engage players in longer sessions, but with each fortune prize only able to boost by 0.5x your bet (maximum) per gold coin, you’re looking at a rather long-winded session, indeed.
Given the attention the 5 Wild Buffalo series received upon each release, we were hoping to see a variety of upgrades and modifications. However, what we did notice is that this game does not include its own ‘Golden’ feature or Power Bet option, available in 5 Wild Buffalo 2.
Another thing worth mentioning is the low payouts for each paytable symbol. Thankfully, the Wolf Stack Multipliers above each reel aid in the progression of wins, leading to larger payouts and higher win potential.
The Wolf Stack Multiplier feature is so rich and rewarding that it actually costs more to purchase than the Howling Free Spins mode, within the Bonus Buy tab. Statistically, 5 Wild Wolves offers a much more desirable max win potential of 10,500x your bet, when compared to the 7,500x your bet in both its sibling slots.
All in all, 5 Wild Wolves engages players in a series of timeless features, setting the bar high for potential future releases.
