Amazing Link Hercules Slot Review
Raked sand, bleached stone tiers under crimson awnings, and three of Hercules’ beasts watching from the roofline of a sunlit amphitheatre: this arena looks like the setting for a epic, and the game inside it barely uses the stage. Amazing Link Hercules is a slot built to be played while you ignore its paytable. The money is stored off the lines, in locked coins and jackpot icons, until a trigger lets it out, and SpinPlay Games have made the waiting look better than almost anyone else in this family.
It’s a 5×3 grid with 20 fixed paylines, 96.51% RTP and high volatility, with stakes from 0.20 to 50.00 a spin, and fewer than three spins in ten pay anything at all. It sits in a long line of Amazing Link Apollo, Athena and Zeus Boost, and the formula hasn’t moved far.
Base Game & Features
Twenty fixed paylines pay left to right from the first reel. If multiple winning combinations land on a single line, only the best one pays, and the same rule applies per symbol combination. Wins land on roughly 29% of spins, so there are long gaps between payouts.
Bets are worked out per line. The total stake is divided across the 20 paylines, and every payout in the game is calculated from that per-line amount, which is worth knowing when you read the win meter.
The paytable doesn’t bridge those gaps. The royals pay pocket change, and the horse’s five-of-a-kind combination pays 5x. That’s the deal in this family, and Hercules doesn’t renegotiate it.
Symbol values in multiples of stake:
- Horse, three of a kind: 1x
- Horse, four of a kind: 2x
- Horse, five of a kind: 5x
- Amphora/Lamp (purple): 0.5x, 1x, 4x for three, four and five
- Bow and Arrows / Vase (blue): 0.3x, 0.5x, 3x for three, four and five
- A, K, Q: 0.2x, 0.4x, 2x for three, four and five
- J, 10, 9: 0.1x, 0.3x, 1x for three, four and five
There are two premium tiers above the royals: the horse is the highest-paying regular symbol, with the purple amphora and lamp sharing a tier and the bow-and-arrows and blue vase sharing the one below. The split matters less than it sounds, because the gap between the top of the paytable and the features is where this game’s variance lives.
Hercules himself is the wild. He substitutes for everything except Bonus and Amazing symbols, and he can form his own winning line. Beyond that, the base game is a holding pattern, and nothing in the reel set pays enough to build a session on.
Amazing Link Hercules Bonus Features & Free Spins
Amazing Link Feature
Landing six or more Amazing symbols triggers the feature. Three respins are awarded, and every Amazing symbol on the triggering spin locks in place. Any new Amazing symbol that lands in an unlocked position locks too, and resets the remaining respins to three.
The round plays out one respin at a time. Land a symbol and the count jumps back to three; land nothing and one respin burns away. That reset is the engine of the big rounds, because a run that keeps feeding itself never dies while it still has symbols to catch.
Each locked symbol carries a cash prize, and all prizes pay at the end of the round. The round finishes when the respins run out with no new symbols, or when every position is filled. Filling the entire grid awards the MEGA prize on top of everything already collected.
Amazing Link Multipliers
When the feature starts, every position on the grid is assigned a multiplier of 2x, 3x or 5x. Locked Amazing symbols collect the prize at their position with that multiplier applied, so the same coin can pay very differently depending on where it lands.
The multiplier stays with the position rather than the symbol, which means a coin that locks early onto a 5x spot is worth five times the identical coin two reels over. It also means a full grid collects fifteen multiplied prizes before the MEGA lands on top, and that’s the ceiling the feature is built around.
Free Spins
Three Bonus symbols award 10 free spins. On every spin a random reel transforms into an Amazing Wild Reel, containing only Wild Amazing symbols. Those wilds substitute for all symbols, and bets and lines stay exactly as they were on the triggering spin.
A fresh wild reel every spin gives the round a floor most free-spins modes don’t have. There’s no retrigger, so the ten spins are what you get, and there’s no way to add to them once the round is running.
Random Feature Triggers
On any base game spin that doesn’t set off Amazing Link or free spins, collected symbols can spark something anyway. Only one of these can fire per spin:
- Collecting Wilds can randomly trigger the Pick Feature
- Collecting Bonus symbols can randomly trigger Free Spins
- Collecting Amazing symbols can randomly trigger the Amazing Link feature
These are the doors that make the base game more than a coin flip on a thin paytable. A spin that pays nothing can still be doing quiet work, because the symbols it collects feed one of the three triggers. The reverse matters too: any spin that starts Amazing Link or free spins can’t fire a random feature on top, so there’s no stacking.
Pick Feature
Collecting Wild symbols at the end of a spin can randomly open the Pick Feature. Match three icons to win the corresponding prize from the ladder:
- MEGA
- MAJOR
- MINOR
- MINI
If one of the three matching icons carries a 2x, 3x or 5x, the prize multiplies by that amount. There’s no decision in it; the icons flip and the ladder pays. It can’t trigger after a spin that’s already started free spins or Amazing Link.
The MEGA is the closest thing to a top target, and it isn’t priced in multiples of stake.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.7/10
A session here is a lot of quiet under very good lighting, and the quiet is the point: dead spins still collect symbols towards the next trigger, so sitting still in the sand is what the game pays you for. That patience is the one reason to choose this arena over a dozen others with the same bones.
When the respin round finally comes, it earns the wait. Because every position carries its own multiplier, a long run doesn’t just collect, it compounds – the same coin is worth five times more on the right square, which the plain entries in this family can’t do. The Pick Feature is the disappointment: a jackpot flip with no decision and no build-up, over in the time it takes to blink.
It’s a good home for Amazing Link loyalists and anyone who enjoys a slow build with several doors out of the base game. Players who measure a slot by what five of a kind pays will find this arena pays its respects elsewhere. The beasts on the roofline don’t mind waiting either.
