Base Game & Features
Bass Blitz is a standard 6-reel, 4-row Video Slot with 4,096 ways to win and varying bet sizes between £.€0.10 and £.€20 per spin. Other significant attributes include a Medium Volatility rating, an overall RTP of 96%, and a max win cap of 6,945x your bet.
Wins are created when 3-6 identical symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel. The game features 5 High-paying and 6 Low-paying symbols, each producing winning payouts between 0.1x and 8x your bet.
Wild symbols appear on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5, substituting for all symbols except Fish, Lightning, and Scatter symbols. In Eliminator Free Spins, each Wild will reveal a Multiplier of x2.
Bass Cash
There are 3 individual Bass Cash symbols with values between 0.5x and 1,000x your bet displayed upon them. Each bass cash symbol can appear on all reels except in Eliminator Free Spins. Each Bass Cash value can be collected when a Yellow, Blue, or Pink Lightning symbol hits.
Once active, each bass cash value is collected by the Lightning symbol and applied to your total win. If there are no Lightning symbols present, they can be randomly pulled into view by individual Hooks above the reels and added to the Power Meter.
Lightning Collect
In the base game and Cash Collect Free Spins, Lightning Collect symbols can appear on reels 1 and 6 only. Each Lightning symbol can appear in 3 different variations:
- Regular Collect: Retrieves the values of all bass cash symbols in view, adding their combined value to the total win
- Respin Collect: Awards a Respin of the reels, with all Lightning and Bass Cash symbols remaining in position.
- Multiplier Collect: Automatically multiplies the value of all bass cash symbols by x2, x3, or x4, before being awarded. In Cash Collect Free Spins, an additional x5 Multiplier is available.
If a Lightning Collect appears with a Respin Collect, the Respin function will occur first. After all Respins, the Lightning Collect will activate and reel in all bass cash values, starting from reel 1.
Jackpot Prizes
Above the main reel set are 3 individual Jackpot Prizes; Mini, Minor, and Major. When a Bass Cash symbol hits, it can reveal 1 of 3 Jackpot Prizes. Jackpot Prizes have a value of 20x (Mini), 100x (Minor), and 1,000x (Major) your bet. Jackpot Prizes can only be awarded when a Lightning symbol lands within the same spin.
Power Meter Scale
The power meter to the left of the main reel set will collect 1 Bass Cash symbol per reel, but only if there are no Lightning symbols present. The power meter scale increases for every Bass Cash symbol collected, with the cumulative value of collected Bass Cash symbols.
When the scale reaches 75 or more, the Bonus Wheel triggers, which spins to award a 1%-100% share of the total value on the scale. At the end of the Bonus Wheel, the power meter will refill with 10 Bass Cash symbols, with a 10% value of the triggered value.
If the Bonus Wheel and Free Spins feature are triggered simultaneously, the Bonus Wheel will play out first, followed by the Free Spins feature. Please note, that the Power Meter is persistent to each player.
Free Spins
Landing 3, 4, 5, or 6 Bonus Scatters in the base game triggers the Free Spins Picker, where you can choose between the following options:
- Cash Collect Free Spins: 3, 4, 5, or 6 Scatters award 2, 4, 6, or 9 Free Spins respectively
- Symbol Eliminator Free Spins: 2, 3, 4, or 5 Scatters award 8, 12, 16, or 20 Free Spins respectively
Cash Collect
When choosing the Cash Collect Free Spins mode, you are guaranteed to land at least 1 Lightning symbol of any type on reels 1 or 6. Cash collect reels only contain Lightning Collect, Bass Cash, or empty positions. Landing 2 Lightning Collect symbols awards +1 Free Spin.
Symbol Eliminator
When choosing the Symbol Eliminator Free Spins mode, wins with the lowest-paying symbol can be eliminated from the reels for the remainder of this feature. The eliminations can only occur in order from 9, 10, J, Q, K, & A when part of a winning combination.
Our Verdict
We think it’s a fair statement to make that looks are always deceiving in a Light & Wonder slot. The majority of Light & Wonder titles tend to look old-fashioned, with a classic aesthetic and limited design. In Bass Blitz, there’s plenty of colour, yet not a lot of detail has gone into its theme.
Although there are limitations to the design, Light & Wonder has quickly made up for this through its multiple features and mechanics. As with most fishing slots, there are individual Fish (Bass Cash) symbols that reveal values between 0.5x and 1,000x your bet, as well as Jackpot Prizes and a nifty Power Meter Scale.
Similar to Blueprint’s King Kong Cash: Even Bigger Bananas 2, the 3 Lightning Collect symbols deliver something different when they hit the reels, from Respins to Multipliers. Through the Power Meter Scale, the Bonus Wheel can award either a fraction or the full value of the scale. This feature can be quite exciting, particularly when the scale reaches high values.
Triggering the Free Spins mode allows players to choose between 2 functions; Cash Collect and Symbol Elimination. The Cash Collect round is a glorified version of the base game, where 1 Lightning symbol is guaranteed to land with each spin. This round eliminates all paytable symbols except Bass Cash and Lightning Collect symbols.
In Symbol Eliminator, you are awarded more Free Spins than Cash Collect. The process of eliminating low-paying symbols is widely effective in creating big wins with higher-paying ones. With so much on offer here, it’s a little contradicting that the overall max win is capped at 6,945x your bet. Either way, fishing fanatics will be pleased with the variety of features and mechanics found in Bass Blitz.
