Black Horse Cash Out Edition Slot Review
A cowboy leans out of the shadows at the frame’s edge, a woman in a wide-brimmed hat watches from the right, and the desert behind them burns red-orange from horizon to horizon. Wazdan‘s Black Horse Cash Out Edition takes a simple idea seriously: nothing on these reels pays until one accumulator symbol says so. It’s a 5×3 grid over 20 fixed paylines, running at 96.12% RTP with a 2,500x ceiling, and almost all of its interest sits in the countdown rather than the lines.
The studio’s coin-collecting lineage runs through 9 Coins Grand Diamond Edition and Hot Slot: 777 Coins, and this one takes that formula out to the frontier. The question is whether the horse can carry it there.
The Base Game on 20 Fixed Lines
Wins land the traditional way here. Two, three, four or five matching symbols on an active line, running left to right across consecutive reels, will pay. Only the highest win per line counts, and wins from different lines are added together on top.
It’s a straightforward setup, and deliberately so. Every reel position that isn’t paying a line win is doing something else: carrying a Cash value, holding a jackpot tag, or waiting for the symbol that makes both of those worth something. The base game isn’t a warm-up act here – it’s where the whole collection economy lives.
The reels sit inside a rough-hewn wooden frame with riveted bolts and a rope along the top beam. Distant mesas sit on the horizon under that red-orange sky, which fills the whole background. The look is painterly and warm, and it doesn’t get in the way of the maths.
Cash symbols carry prizes from 1x to 10x the bet, and they only pay when a Cash Out symbol is on the reels at the same time. Alongside them sit the jackpot symbols, which work the same way.
Cash Out and the Sticky Cash Out
The Cash Out Symbol
The Cash Out symbol is the engine of the whole game. When it appears, it sweeps up every value showing on the Cash and Jackpot symbols drawn on the reels and pays the lot as one total win. Without it, those symbols are just decoration.
That single rule shapes everything else on the grid. A screen full of Cash values is worth nothing on its own, and a single Cash Out with thin pickings pays thin. The gap between those two outcomes is where the game’s tension lives, and where its two longer-form symbols come in.
The Sticky Cash Out
The Sticky Cash Out symbol is the long game. It can appear on a random reel and will stick there for anywhere from 10 to 20 spins before it becomes active. You can watch the countdown tick down spin by spin, with every Cash and Jackpot symbol that lands in the meantime adding to the pot it’s building towards.
Once the countdown finishes, the symbol switches on for a window of one to five spins. During that window it collects everything the reels show it, and when the window closes it pays the accumulated total in one hit. A lucky run of jackpot symbols in those final spins is what the whole build has been for.
Changing bet levels or the Volatility Level mid-countdown parks your progress. Sticky symbols are temporarily removed from the reels whenever you do either, and they only reappear on the level they were obtained on. The same applies when the Chance Level changes. Switch your stake at the wrong moment and the build starts over.
Chance Level™ and the Jackpot Ladder
Chance Level™
By default the game plays at the base bet. The Chance Level™ feature can be switched on during the base game, and it multiplies the stake in exchange for better jackpot odds:
- Chance Level™ x2 – base bet multiplied by two, for a 2x higher chance to win jackpots
- Chance Level™ x4 – base bet multiplied by four, for a 4x higher chance
- Chance Level™ x8 – base bet multiplied by eight, for an 8x higher chance
- Chance Level™ x12 – base bet multiplied by twelve, for a 12x higher chance
The paytable doesn’t move when a Chance Level is active – symbol values stay exactly as they are for the base bet. What you’re buying is purely a better shot at the jackpot symbols, and sticky symbols again only appear on the level they were obtained on.
It’s a lever with a clear price and a clear effect, aimed squarely at the top of the prize ladder. Four multipliers, each buying the same thing at a different rate, and all of them pointing at one 2,500x prize.
The Four Jackpots
Beside the Cash symbols sit three jackpot symbols – MINOR, MAJOR and MEGA – each awarding its corresponding prize when collected by a Cash Out. Above them all sits the GRAND. Landing 15 Cash and/or Jackpot symbols awards the GRAND Jackpot, worth 2,500x the bet and doubling as the game’s maximum win.
Fifteen symbols on a 5×3 grid means filling every position on the screen, which makes the GRAND a full-board event rather than a lucky line. As multiples of the stake, the ladder reads:
- GRAND – 2,500x the bet
- MEGA – 100x the bet
- MAJOR – 50x the bet
- MINOR – 20x the bet
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7/10
Playing this is mostly watching the desert and waiting for one symbol. That’s not a criticism – the waiting is the game, and it’s why anybody picks it over a plainer Western: the Sticky Cash Out gives those twenty countdown spins a sense of gathering something, and losing it if you touch your stake.
The countdown is easily the best thing here. The ladder beneath it is the problem: 2,500x is a modest top prize for a collection game, and the lower rungs at 100x, 50x and 20x won’t carry a session.
It’s for players who like a build that pays off in one hit and don’t need a five-figure ceiling to stay interested. Anyone chasing bigger numbers will find Wazdan’s coin series more rewarding – this one rides on the countdown, not the horizon.
