Book of Fusion Slot Review 2024
Sparks are flying in Light & Wonder’s latest release which puts a spin on the classic ‘Book’ style formula, in Book of Fusion!
Light & Wonder are back with an interesting additon to their portfolio that uses the classic Book formula but with its very own twist. Collect Book symbols and watch the magic happen as the Bonus round fires up for some pretty impressive big wins. The Bonus round comes with its own perks and awards players with not one, but two Expanding symbols.
Light & Wonder are always bringing something new to the table whether it be a theme or feature but we are always excited to see what comes next. This particular theme has been touched upon in Stakelogic’s Freaky Friday slot amongst others, but it makes a nice change from Egyptians or the Wild West.
Will Book of Fusion give Book of Dead a run for its money? Let’s play on and find out!
Book of Fusion Base Game and Features
Book of Fusion is a 5 reel slot with 10 fixed paylines. In order to form a winning combination, you will need to connect 3 or more (or 2 or more high-paying symbols) from left to right, starting from the left-most reel. The minimum bet available here is £/€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€35 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two.
In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol in Book of Fusion is the Professor, followed by the Electric Ball, Switch, Battery and Magnet. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten. The Book Scatter also acts as a Wild symbol which substitutes for all High and Low-paying symbols.
The base game in Book of Fusion isn’t one to rave about in all honesty. Its very rare that a Book slot will have any kind of features on offer in the base game but you will be pleased to know that Light & Wonder quickly make up for this in the Free Spins round.
Book of Fusion Free Spins
Landing 3 or more Book Scatters in any position on the reels triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 10 Free Spins.
Before the Free Spins round can commence, you will be awarded 2 Special symbols at random to become your Expanding symbols. The big difference here is not only will you be given 2 Expanding symbols, but one will always be a High-paying symbol and the other a Low-paying symbol.
Like most Book games, in order to achieve an expansion with a Low-paying symbol, you will need to land a minimum of 3. In order to achieve an expansion with a High-paying symbol, you will need to land a minimum of 2.
Landing 3 Book Scatters during the Free Spins round awards an additional +10 Free Spins plus another 2 Special symbols are unlocked. If all 10 symbols are Expanding symbols, the Free Spins round cannot be retriggered.
Book of Fusion Bonus Buy
For those outside the UK, you may benefit from a Bonus Buy option. This option grants you access to the Free Spins round for a total cost of 70x your current bet.
The RTP when purchasing the Free Spins round sits at 95.98%.
Book of Fusion: Our Verdict
We’ve seen our fair share of Book slots over the years and not one has been able to top the likes of Book of Dead or Legacy of Dead, but has Book of Fusion done just that? We’ll leave that for you to decide.
What we do know is that Book of Fusion has a much more rewarding Free Spins round which awards players with 2 Expanding symbols at a time rather than the usual 1 in other Book titles, but is this enough to to draw players in? We think so. Light & Wonder has also done one better by granting players access to the Free Spins round via a Bonus Buy option (unless you’re in the UK).
In terms of statistics, Book of Fusion could be better with a slighty lower than average RTP of 95.97% and a maximum win capacity of 7,142x, but if you’re a huge fan of Book games this shouldn’t be a problem.
All in all, Book of Fusion is definitely a worthy choice if you’re in the market for a new Book game regardless of its statistics.
