Boombear Bros Slot Review
Two bears, a shed’s worth of dynamite and nobody around to confiscate it. Boombear Bros builds its personality out of that single idea, and the clever part is that the explosives don’t all do the same job.
Fire Bombs leave multiplier value behind on the cells they hit. Ice Bombs manufacture the matching symbols you need in order to use it. Wins arrive as clusters of five or more connecting symbols on a 6×6 grid, cascades clear them away, and the bombs decide what any of it is worth.
The maths is unshowy. RTP is 96.32% in the standard configuration, though operators can run a 94.36% build, and each mode shifts the figure marginally, with Maximum Blast the highest of them at 96.33%. Volatility is medium at 3/5, the hit rate is 27.3%, stakes run from €0.10 to €75, and the ceiling is 12,000x.
All of that is assembled by Bullshark Games, and Boombear Bros lines up alongside Bullshark Brawl and Junkyard Kings 2 in the same catalogue, with Crabby Collector also on the shelf.
So: worth lighting the fuse, or not?
Base Game & Features
Boombear Bros runs on a 6×6 grid with cluster pays, so wins come from five or more matching symbols connecting anywhere on the grid rather than along fixed lines. Every win removes the symbols involved and drops new ones into the gaps.
Those cascades keep running until a spin stops producing new wins, which means a modest cluster can turn into a much longer sequence. Hit frequency is 27.3%, and stakes cover €0.10 to €75 per spin.

Power Bombs and Cell Multipliers
Two types of Power Bomb can land at random on any spin. The Fire Power Bomb explodes horizontally, vertically or in a cross pattern across one to five cells, adding a multiplier to every cell it reaches. Values run from 2x up to 20x.
Those Cell Multipliers build progressively through a cascade sequence. Where a winning cluster covers more than one multiplied cell, the values are added together rather than multiplied against each other. In the base game the whole layout resets at the start of every new spin, and each bomb turns into a random paying symbol or a Wild once it has gone off.

The Ice Power Bomb works the other way round. Instead of multipliers it adds matching symbols within its reach, which can restart a cascade that had otherwise finished.
It only activates once the grid has settled with no wins left on it, and it can’t overwrite Wilds, FS Scatters or other bombs. Afterwards it transforms into the same symbol it just added.
Bomb Frenzy
Any spin that produces no win and contains no Power Bomb can trigger Bomb Frenzy, a mystery event that drops two to five Power Bombs onto the grid at random. They can be Fire, Ice or a mix, and they can’t land on Wilds, FS Scatters or existing bomb symbols.
Wilds and FS Scatters
The Wild substitutes for every paying symbol in the paytable and shows up in both the base game and the bonus rounds. Ice Power Bombs can create one too.
FS Scatter symbols are the route into free spins, and the count matters: three of them opens one door, four opens a different and better one.

Boombear Bros Free Spins
Both bonus rounds run on the same central change: the Cell Multipliers stop resetting. Anything a Fire Power Bomb leaves behind stays on the grid for the remainder of the round.
That makes the layout steadily more valuable as the spins tick down. Extra FS Scatters landing during a bonus each add one spin to the counter, then convert into regular paying symbols for that spin.
Bombs Away Bonus
Three FS Scatters award 10 free spins. The bombs behave exactly as they do in the base game, exploding along a line or in a cross, but the multipliers they leave behind now accumulate across the whole round instead of vanishing at the next spin.

Maximum Blast Bonus
Four FS Scatters award 12 free spins, and every Power Bomb explodes in all four directions rather than along a single axis. Each bomb therefore covers far more of the grid, so the persistent multiplier layout assembles much faster.
It also carries the highest theoretical return of any mode in the game at 96.33%, a hair above the standard configuration.

Bonus Buy Options
The buy menu offers four routes in. Two are FeatureSpins modes, which guarantee certain features on every spin and stay switched on until you turn them off, and two are direct purchases of the free spins rounds. Each option carries its own theoretical return:
- Bonushunt FeatureSpins, RTP 96.29%
- Short Fuse FeatureSpins, RTP 96.30%
- Bombs Away, RTP 96.29%
- Maximum Blast, RTP 96.33%

Short Fuse FeatureSpins is the odd one out. It concentrates everything on bomb activity, and FS Scatter symbols can’t land at all while it’s running, so the mode has no route into either free spins round.

Our Honest Verdict
The base game is comfortable company. Cascades stretch ordinary wins into longer sequences, there’s always a bomb worth watching for, and while the quiet stretches are real, Bomb Frenzy dropping bombs onto a dead spin stops plenty of them feeling final.
Bombs Away was the smaller experience: a slow opening, a couple of Fire Bombs eventually building useful cells in the centre, and about 75x by the close of a short demo session. Maximum Blast is the one worth chasing, finishing at roughly 220x with the four-direction explosions assembling the multiplier grid far quicker. One central cell climbed to around 30x and every spin after that carried real tension.
That’s where the concept fully lands, and the 12,000x ceiling is competitive without pretending to be something it isn’t. Short Fuse is harder to sit with, since a mode that can’t reach the free spins takes the point away.
Cluster and cascade players who want a bonus that strengthens the longer it runs will get the most out of it. The bears know exactly one trick, and they’re very good at it.
