Candy Combo – Power Combo Slot Review
Three fat glass jars sit along the top of the reel frame, googly eyes peering over the rim, and they matter more than anything spinning below them. Candy Combo – Power Combo pays its players almost nothing through the paylines and stakes everything on which jars you’ve been feeding – the reels exist to fill the pots, and the pots exist to pay you.
Each jar collects a feature, and what you’ve collected decides what the bonus round becomes. The maths is 96.20% RTP, high volatility, a 5×3 grid with 20 fixed paylines and stakes from 0.20 to 25.00 a spin. Slingshot Studios already ran this engine through the farmyard – Bet the Farm Power Combo, covered here in 2026, found the Power Combo reels thin and the collection loop doing all the work. The candy here is brighter, the maths the same shape.
Base Game & Features
The base game is a 5×3 reel set with 20 fixed paylines, paying left to right from the first reel, and only the highest win counts on each line. Wins land on roughly 27% of spins, though most of those will be small change off the lower symbols.
Wilds appear in the base game only, forming their own combinations and substituting for everything except the three feature symbols. The feature symbols, Connector, Collector and Jackpot, carry no payout of their own. Their job is to be collected into the jars, and each spin that shows one or more of them feeds the pot that matches it.
The paytable is a candy-and-royals ladder, and it’s a modest one. Five of the top symbol pays 4x your stake, and the royals trail off from there:
- Heart – 4x for five
- Yellow Candy – 2.5x for five
- Green Candy – 0.5x for three, 1x for four, 2.5x for five
- Purple Candy and Blue Candy – 0.5x for three, 1x for four, 2x for five
- A and K – 0.3x for three, 0.7x for four, 1.5x for five
- 10 and 9 – 0.2x for three, 0.5x for four, 1.2x for five
That’s the ceiling on the paylines, and it’s a low one. The Heart at 4x means no line win in this game will ever move the needle, which tells you where the real money is meant to come from: the jars.
Candy Combo – Power Combo Bonus Features & Link&Win™
The Link&Win™ Feature
The Link&Win™ feature triggers on a spin that collects one or more feature symbols, and the reels expand to a 5×5 grid. Three free respins are awarded, every symbol swaps out for blanks, and any coin that lands is held while the blanks respin. Every landing resets the respins to three.
The round ends when the respins run out, every position fills, or the transaction win limit is reached. Total winnings per transaction are capped at 10,000x the base bet. Which features run depends on what triggered it: one type of feature symbol collected and only that feature runs, two types and both run, all three and everything fires at once.
Connector Feature
When the Connector feature is active, Cash Coins that land are held in place and each displays a random cash value multiplied by the total bet. The mechanic is a line-completion game. Fill a horizontal, vertical or corner-to-corner diagonal set of five Cash Coins and the multiplier for that set activates, applying to the five coins in it.
Each further completed set increments that set’s multiplier one step up the ladder:
- 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 10x, 11x, 12x, 15x
If two or more sets complete on the same spin, the increments apply in a fixed order: horizontal rows from the top, then vertical reels from the left, then diagonals from top left. When Connector and Collector run together, Cash Collect Coins can join a set and pick up its multiplier. When Connector and Jackpot run together, Jackpot Coins stay outside the sets.
Collector Feature
The Collector feature is simpler and meaner in isolation. Up to three Cash Collect Coins can land, and each one collects the sum of every already-landed Cash Coin and Cash Collect Coin into a total for that spin. With multiple collect coins on the same spin, they collect in strict row and reel order, top to bottom then left to right.
Collector and Jackpot together comes with one sharp restriction: the Cash Collect Coin can’t touch the jackpot prizes.
Jackpot Feature
When the Jackpot feature is active, Jackpot Coins can land alongside the Cash Coins, and four of a kind, per jackpot, triggers that prize. The coins are removed from the reels on collection, and each jackpot can only trigger once per round. The ladder reads like this:
- GRAND – 5,000x
- MAJOR – 500x
- MINOR – 50x
- MINI – 15x
Upsizer™ and Buy Feature
The Upsizer™ appears on entry into a triggered Link&Win™ round and offers a more valuable feature combination for a calculated cost, with the options depending on what you triggered. It can be limited or unavailable at higher bets and in some regions. Activating it resets the collection pots when you return to the base game.
The Buy Feature, available in the base game only, buys straight into the round with your choice of one of seven active feature combinations:
- Collector, Connector or Jackpot alone – 30x bet
- Any two of the three together – 70x bet
- All three together – 150x bet
Every buy option runs at the same 96.20% RTP as the base game, so the price buys variance and choice of round rather than a better return. Buying, unlike the Upsizer™, doesn’t reset the collection pots.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7/10
Most of a session here is spent feeding googly-eyed jars while the reels hand back coins worth fractions of your stake. That’s the honest shape of it, and the reason somebody would choose it over a plain hold-and-win is that the round you eventually get is one you assembled yourself, jar by jar.
The full round is the best thing about the game: when the ladder, the collectors and the jackpot coins all run together, payouts compound in ways a single feature never gets near, and two loaded rounds rarely play out the same. The game saves that best version for its rarest outcome, though. A round that triggers with one feature active is a modest hold-and-win with a low ceiling, and that’s the version you’ll usually see.
This suits the patient kind of player, the ones happy to feed a meter through a long stretch of small change for a shot at the version worth the wait. If your enjoyment lives on the paylines, the candy town has little for you. If it lives in the jars, they fill up nicely.
