Carnival Rush Slot Review
Fireworks over a dark city skyline, striped big-top tents crowning the frame, confetti scattered across the cobblestones: the night fair in Carnival Rush is painted with real affection. It needs to be, because the reels underneath are the least interesting part of the game. Everything worth having here happens after they vanish.
Betsoft has built this one around what happens when the reels disappear altogether, and the 5×4 grid is mostly the way in. The game doesn’t publish an RTP figure. It sits alongside Good Girl Bad Girl 2 and Midnight Bandits in the studio’s recent output. The fairground is the draw, and the stall is open.
Base Game & Features
Five reels, four rows, and a paytable that leans on the theme. The Ringmaster or Clown leads the symbol ladder, with circus and fairground imagery filling the middle tiers and the familiar card royals underneath. Wins pay as multiples of the triggering bet.
- Ringmaster / Clown: 2 pays 0.5x, 3 pays 2x, 4 pays 3x, 5 pays 5x
- Feathered Woman / Carousel Horse: 2 pays 0.1x, 3 pays 0.5x, 4 pays 1x, 5 pays 2x
- Teddy Bear / Popcorn: 3 pays 0.4x, 4 pays 0.8x, 5 pays 1.6x
- A / K: 3 pays 0.3x, 4 pays 0.6x, 5 pays 1.2x
- Q / J: 3 pays 0.3x, 4 pays 0.5x, 5 pays 1x
- 10 / 9: 3 pays 0.2x, 4 pays 0.4x, 5 pays 1x
The wild substitutes for standard paying symbols, and it carries extra weight in the bonus round, where it picks up a multiplier role. Scatters pay from anywhere and three or more of them open the Pick Feature.
Cash and Bonus Prizes
Cash symbols carry their own values, from 1.00 up to 200.00 scaled to the triggering bet, and only appear on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 in the base game. They pay when the Carnival Rush symbol on reel 1 forms a winning combination with them.
Bonus Prize symbols only land on reel 5, and each one is a fixed award:
- Mini: 20.00
- Minor: 100.00
- Major: 1,000.00
- Grand: 10,000.00
The reel 5 symbol doesn’t have to be a Bonus Prize. When it’s a Plinko or Hi-Strike Smash symbol instead, the same winning combination launches one of the game’s two transform bonuses.
Bet Booster
Bet Booster is a toggle that raises the stake by 1.5x and increases the chance of winning the optional features in the base game. It’s a simple exchange: more feature chances for a bigger bet.
With it switched on, the Buy Feature is disabled, so the two can’t be stacked. That’s the whole decision the toggle asks of you.
Carnival Rush Free Spins & Bonus Games
Pick Feature and Free Spins
Three, four or five Scatters trigger the Pick Feature, which hands you a choice: Free Spins or the Carnival Rush Feature. Choosing Free Spins awards 8, 15 or 20 spins depending on whether you landed 3, 4 or 5 Scatters.
Retriggers run on the same ladder. During Free Spins, landing 2, 3, 4 or 5 Scatters adds 5, 8, 15 or 20 spins respectively, so a single round can grow well past its starting count.
Multiplier Wilds
Every wild in the bonus round carries a multiplier of its own. When several land on the same spin, those multipliers multiply together, up to a combined 125x. The boost applies to all wins except Scatter wins.
The practical effect is that a spin with two or three wilds can turn a modest line win into something much larger, and it’s the main reason the free spins round carries the game’s win potential.
Carnival Rush Feature
The other Pick Feature option is a single free spin with a guaranteed win. That spin can only pay out Cash symbols with values or Bonus Prizes, the Plinko Game, or the Hi-Strike Smash Game. Standard paying symbols don’t pay during it.
That restriction is the point. The feature is a shortcut straight into the cash and bonus machinery, skipping the ordinary symbol pays entirely.
Plinko Game
The Plinko Game needs a full winning combination: Carnival Rush symbol on reel 1, Cash symbols across the middle reels, and a Plinko symbol on reel 5. The reels then transform into a Plinko board with five buckets, and you drop balls down it.
Bucket multipliers run from 1x to 25x, arranged 25x, 10x, 5x, 10x, 25x across the board, and they reshuffle after each drop. The outer buckets pay most and the middle pays least, so every drop is a small spread of outcomes.
There are no decisions to make once the balls are away. It’s the quicker of the two transform games, and the one to pick when you want results without a build-up.
Hi-Strike Smash Game
The Hi-Strike Smash Game triggers the same way, with the Hi-Strike Smash symbol closing the combination on reel 5. The board transforms again and you receive 6 spins, with Hi-Strike Smash or Cash symbols landing in the bottom row of reels 1 to 4.
Landing a Hi-Strike Smash symbol moves the cash symbols up one position each time. Multipliers start at Level 1 and climb as high as Level 6 through the Boost symbol on reel 5, and a +1 Spin symbol can add up to 5 extra spins for a maximum of 11:
- Level 1: 1x to 10x
- Level 2 to 5: stepping up through the mid-range multipliers
- Level 6: 6x to 25x
Spin count and multiplier level push in the same direction. The longer the round runs, the higher the multipliers climb, and the further the cash symbols travel up the columns. A round that keeps feeding you +1 Spin symbols is a round that keeps compounding.
Buy Feature
If waiting isn’t your style, both transform bonuses can be bought outright, at fixed prices:
- Buy Hi-Strike Smash Game: 80.00
- Buy Plinko Game: 120.00
The Plinko Game costs the larger of the two prices, which tells you something about how the game itself rates the pair. Buying either way bypasses the scatter hunt entirely, though Bet Booster and the Buy Feature can’t be active at the same time.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.6/10
You spend most of your time in Carnival Rush waiting at the ticket booth. The base game is patient work, assembling Cash symbols behind a reel 1 trigger while thin symbol pays keep the lights on, and the reason to choose it is what’s behind the gates: two bonuses where the reels vanish and something entirely different takes over.
Hi-Strike Smash is the standout, and not just for the spectacle. Its spin count and multiplier ladder compound, so a long round doesn’t merely pay more, it pays more per symbol, and the ceiling moves as you play. That’s rarer than it should be.
The weakness sits in plain view: even the top symbol pays just 5x for five of a kind, and with no published RTP and no maximum win figure, the side-shows are carrying the whole fair. That’s fine if you know it going in. Anyone after steady line wins will find the paytable too thin to live on, but for players who like a slot that keeps its money in the bonus rounds and hands you the choice of which door to open, this one earns its ticket.
