Cash Falls Outback Fortune Slot Review 2024
Cash Falls Outback Fortune from Light and Wonder continues the series down under as we visit the outback in our quest for the Mega prize!
The Cash Falls Series is quite a new series from Light & Wonder, but they’ve spawned many variants of the game already. Pirates Trove, Huo Zhu, and Island Bounty came in relatively short succession to each other in March and April, and in May comes the latest (and hopefully greatest) Outback Fortune.
Without further ado, let’s check it out to see if it is indeed the best of the bunch.
Cash Falls Outback Fortune Slot – The Base Game and Features
Cash Falls Outback Fortune is a 5-reel slot that ascends in height from left to right. It features the ANY WAY feature, which means winnings are paid from left to right on adjacent reels regardless of their position on their respective reel.
Forming a win requires at least 3 of any matching symbol, and the Wild symbol substitutes for all paying symbols and appears on reels 2, 3 and 4.
Coin Symbols
Gold Coins are scatter symbols that can land on any reel. Silver Coins only appear in Free Spins above each of the reels. Silver coins become active above and reel that are full of gold coins
The possible values vary by reel:
- Reels 1-2 – 0.5 – 10x & MINI Jackpot
- Reels 3-4 – 0.5 – 20x & MINI & MINOR Jackpots
- Reel 5 – 1- 20x & MINI, MINOR, MAJOR & MEGA Jackpots
Cash Falls
When Gold coins land on the reel, they are locked in place for 3 spins during the Cash Falls Feature.
Any subsequent coin will reset the spins to 3. If every position on a reel is filled with gold coins, then the Cash Falls Feature begins.
The Cash Falls Feature awards the total bet multiplier displayed on each of the gold coins. If MINI, MINOR, MAJOR or MEGA Jackpot is displayed on any of the coins, then it awards the Total Bet Multiplier which equates to the corresponding meter.
Jackpot Coin Symbols
There are 4 Jackpot Coin Symbols – Mini, Minor, Major and Mega. The Jackpot Coin Symbols are also scatter symbols.
Free Spins
Free Spins are triggered when you land 3, 4 or 5 Bonus symbols, which give 10, 12 or 15 Free Spins respectively.
Any coins that land in Free Spins are locked for the duration of the bonus. During Free Spins, if every position is filled with a Gold Coin, then the Silver Coin will display a random Total Bet Multiplier.
At the end of Free Spins. Silver Coins award a random number of additional bet multipliers to the meter below. The additional bet multipliers can be up to 100x.
The number of bet multipliers awarded will depend on which reel they’re relative to:
- Reel 1-2 – 6 – 15
- Reel 3-4 – 8-25
- Reel 5 – 10-30
The Free Spins Feature ends when no Free Spins remain or when all positions are filled with Gold Coins
Cash Falls Outback Fortune – Bonus Buy
Those outside of the UK can use a bonus buy feature.
The Buy Pass costs 65x the bet, and it will award 10, 12 or 15 Free Spins at random.
Cash Falls Outback Fortune – Our Verdict
Like those before it, Cash Falls Outback Fortune has an interesting reel layout and a few staple features that players seem to love.
It’s not quite the quirky and completely innovative ‘modern slot’. If anything, it has a kind of Vegas feel to it. It wouldn’t look out of place in a land-based casino with its jackpots and coins.
Will the Nolimit City, ELK Studio and Play’n GO fans love the Cash Falls series? Maybe not, but there’s more players out there than those that watch the popular streaming slots, and if it enjoys a successful reception then it wouldn’t be the first time a game that isn’t popular with streamers thrived.
It has decent potential, and impressive 21,025x max win and a great theme just like those before it, but you’ve got to want to give it a chance to grow on you, because it isn’t an instant hit when you first lay eyes on it.
