Base Game & Features
Cash Surge is a highly volatile 5-reel Video Slot with a unique 3-4-4-4-3 reel formation, 720 ways to win, and varying bet sizes between £.€0.20 and £.€240 per spin. Other statistics of note include an overall RTP of 96.52% and a standard max win cap of 5,000x your bet.
Wins occur when 3-5 matching symbols land from left to right or right to left, starting from reels 1 or 5. When a win is evaluated, it will award a payout between 0.2x and 8x your bet. Wilds appear on reels 2, 3, or 4 and substitute for all symbols except Scatters.
Money Award Feature
In the base game, above each of the reels, are 5 individual Progressive Jackpot Prizes – these include:
- Mini: Begins at 5x and reaches up to 75x your bet.
- Minor: Begins at 10x and reaches up to 100x your bet
- Major: Begins at 50x and reaches up to 250x your bet
- Mega: Begins at 200x and reaches up to 1,000x your bet

Whenever a Lightning symbol lands on reel 1, 2, 4, or 5, it increases the respective Jackpot Prize above it by 0.5x your bet. When at least 1 Lightning symbol hits, there is an increased chance of triggering the Bonus Wheel Money Award feature. Please note, that altering your bet size will cause the Jackpot Prizes to reset to their minimum values.
During the Bonus Wheel Money Award feature, a special wheel presents itself with all 5 Jackpot Prizes available. One spin is received and whichever Jackpot Prize it lands on will automatically be awarded. After this, its current value is reset to the minimum prize.
In addition, a special Multiplier of x1 is active and applies to all winning combinations that occur during the next Free Spins mode. When 4 Scatter symbols appear in view, the Multiplier is increased by x0.5. The multiplier is saved for each bet size played and resets to x1 at the end of a Free Spins round.
Free Spins
Landing 5 Scatter symbols that spell ‘SURGE’ will automatically trigger the Free Spins mode, awarding 4 Free Spins. Each additional Scatter after the first 5 will award a further +1 Free Spin respectively.
Before the round begins, each Scatter symbol reveals either a +1 Free Spin or +x1 Multiplier that is added to the total Free Spins or Multiplier tally respectively. Retriggering this feature requires at least 5 Scatters forming the word ‘SURGE’ to hit in a single spin, in turn, awarding +1 Free Spin per Scatter.
Our Verdict
Cash Surge will tick all the right boxes for players in touch with classic aesthetics and old-school symbols. The colourful backdrop and enticing Jackpot Prizes only add to its appeal, with the addition of a Bonus Wheel Money Award feature and progressive Multiplier.
The 720 ways to win are boosted by a ‘pays both ways’ mechanic, creating additional ways for players to hit wins in a single spin. Unlike regular 5-reel slots, triggering the Free Spins mode is a little more far-fetched, whereby 5 Scatters are needed (1 per reel) to spell out ‘SURGE’. However, any additional Scatters are counted to award further spins.
The aim is to build up a decent Multiplier before entering Free Spins – the bigger the Multiplier, the more significant the wins. Another interesting aspect is the increase in Jackpot Prizes. Up to 4 Jackpot Prizes can be enhanced by landing a Lightning symbol on all reels, except 3, during base game spins. This is key if you are to win anything substantial during gameplay unless you instantly cash in on the Ultra Jackpot which awards the max win cap of 5,000x your bet.
