Cerberus Gold Slot Review
At the mouth of an underworld cavern, three snarling hellhound heads glare down at the reels, each scarred in its own colour and named MULTIPLY, JACKPOT or SUPREME. Cerberus Gold hides nearly all of its money behind those three hounds, and the base game barely pays for the walk down.
That’s a deliberate build from PearFiction Studios: one respin family carrying three distinct rounds, seven ways to buy them and a grid that grows as you play. It runs at 96.02% RTP, very high volatility and up to 7,776 ways, on stakes from 0.20 to 50.00, with a MEGA jackpot of 5,000x bet at the top of the ladder.
It sits alongside 3 Lucky Hippos 2, Treasures of Kilauea 2 and Chicago Gold 2 Lock N Win in the PearFiction catalogue. The hounds are watching.
Base Game & Features
This is a 5×3 game to begin with, and the shape doesn’t stay still. The top row is a single horizontally oriented reel of its own, and when Split symbols land there, the reel below them grows by one, two or three rows. That’s how 243 ways becomes up to 7,776: the bigger the reels, the more adjacent patterns fit on them.
Way wins run left to right from the first reel, and only the highest combination counts per symbol. Wilds land on reels two to five and substitute for everything except Split, Fireball and Collect symbols. That’s their whole job, and they do it quietly.
The paytable is a short ladder, and the gaps between its rungs are wide. At the top, the character symbols pay as follows:
- Purple King – 1.5x for three, 3x for four, 5x for five
- Red Woman – 1.2x for three, 2.5x for four, 4x for five
- K – 0.2x for three, 0.6x for four, 1x for five
- Q, J, 10 – 0.1x for three, 0.4x for four, 0.6x for five
All way wins are paid against the initial bet, which is the total bet divided by the way cost of 20. A five-of-a-kind of the top symbol returns 5x that initial bet, so the base paytable isn’t where the money lives. It lives in the Fireballs.
Fireballs and the Multiplier
Fireballs land on reels one to four carrying values between 0.2x and 10x the total bet. They do nothing on their own. When a Collect symbol lands on reel five, every Fireball on screen is banked at once, and that’s the Collect Feature in full.
The multiplier gives it teeth. It starts at 1x and climbs with each Soul symbol that lands, up to a maximum of 10x. A Collect symbol multiplies every Fireball on screen by that value before paying.
The multiplier then resets to 1x, and it never applies to way wins, only to Fireballs.
The Cerberus Coins
Three coloured Cerberus coins land in the base game only: orange, yellow and pink. Each collects to the matching hound above the reels, and when enough gather, there’s a chance a LockNWin triggers. The colour mix collected at the moment of the trigger decides which features you get.
The coin collection itself is purely visual and doesn’t influence the trigger, which the game is refreshingly upfront about.
Cerberus Gold LockNWin Bonuses
Every LockNWin variant runs on the same spine. Three respins are awarded, all symbols vanish except locked Fireballs, and every Fireball or Jackpot coin that lands resets the count to three. The round ends when the respins run out or the reels fill completely.
Any reel growth from Split symbols carries over into the feature, so a fatter grid going in means more landing positions inside.
Multiply LockNWin
Triggered from an orange coin. The feature multiplier starts at 2x, and every multiplier symbol that lands adds its value, up to a 100x symbol. Fireballs that land are multiplied by the running total before they lock.
Jackpot LockNWin
Triggered from a yellow coin. Instead of respins filling with cash values, the round collects jackpot spaces, and completing the set awards the matching prize. More than one jackpot can be won in a single round. The ladder reads:
- MEGA – 5,000x bet (six spaces)
- MAJOR – 500x bet (five spaces)
- MINOR – 100x bet (three spaces)
- MINI – 20x bet (two spaces)
- MICRO – 10x bet
Jackpot wins are never multiplied, and the yellow and purple Fireballs of the Supreme round can’t collect them. Some tiers may not be available depending on the state of the feature when it starts.
Supreme LockNWin
Triggered from a pink coin. This one upgrades the Fireballs themselves: a yellow Fireball collects every red Fireball on screen when it lands, and a purple Fireball collects all red and yellow Fireballs. With the respin count resetting on every landing, the collectors can chain repeatedly within a single round.
The features combine, and the combinations have their own rules. When Multiply and Supreme run together, Fireball values are capped between 0.2x and 50x and the largest multiplier symbol drops to 10x. Fireballs in the standalone LockNWin rounds run between 0.2x and 100x of the bet. The Collect Feature and any LockNWin can’t trigger at the same time.
Buy Feature
A shop icon in the base game sells direct entry to any of the feature configurations, at a chosen bet level. It isn’t available above a certain bet threshold. The full price list:
- Multiply LockNWin – 30.10x bet
- Jackpot LockNWin – 36.40x bet
- Supreme LockNWin – 23.90x bet
- Multiply + Jackpot – 56.85x bet
- Jackpot + Supreme – 53.10x bet
- Multiply + Supreme – 55.40x bet
- All three – 71.70x bet
Each purchase has its own RTP, and they’re all at or above the base figure: 96.16% for Multiply, 96.15% for Jackpot, 96.02% for Supreme, 96.05% for Multiply + Jackpot, 96.07% for Jackpot + Supreme, 96.10% for Multiply + Supreme and 96.08% for the full triple.
The Supreme round at 23.90x is the cheapest ticket in, though it carries the lowest of the buy RTPs at exactly the base rate.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.2/10
Cerberus Gold is a long walk to the good room. The reels look superb in their turquoise cave, but almost nothing that happens on the way in matters: the whole game is the trip to a LockNWin, and the pull is never knowing which of the three hounds you’ll wake.
Its strength is how different those three rounds are for siblings. One multiplies, one climbs a jackpot ladder that can pay more than once, and the Supreme round’s collectors can sweep the whole grid in a single chain. It’s a single bonus family that never feels like one game.
The weakness is everything between. With a hit rate of 27.42% and way wins that barely cover a spin’s cost, the base game can go quiet for long stretches, and the Collect Feature’s 10x ceiling is a teaser rather than a payout. This one’s for respin-round players who enjoy the build and trust the bonuses to deliver. Players who want steady action from the base reels will find three heads and very little gold.
