Coffee Dealer

Coffee Dealer Slot Review

Down a grubby back alley, a droopy-eyed coffee bean leans on a baseball bat while an enamel mug fans out coffee packets like contraband, and the whole operation runs through a rig of riveted pipes bolted around the reels. Coffee Dealer hides its real business behind that speakeasy front: this is one mechanic wearing four hats, and the paytable quietly can’t pay without it. The Coffee Cup wild does all the earning.

Hacksaw Gaming built this one on a 5×5 grid with 19 paylines and a 96.29% RTP. It shares its cartoon-crime energy with Wanted Dead or a Wild and Chaos Crew, though here the contraband is caffeine rather than cash. Three, four or five scatters buy you three progressively hotter versions of the same free spins round, all of them feeding the wild reels.

Base Game & Features

Wins pay across 19 fixed paylines on a 5×5 grid, with three to five matching symbols landing left to right. Only the highest combination on each line counts. It’s a conventional enough setup for a studio that usually prefers cluster pays or ways-to-win.

The paytable is split into four tiers, and it’s on the modest side. The symbol values, as multiples of stake:

• Dollar Bill – 1.5x for three, 3x for four, 6x for five
• Money Bag with Knife / Gun – 1x for three, 1.5x for four, 3x for five
• Skull / Coffee Bag (blue) – 0.5x for three, 1x for four, 2x for five
• 10, J, Q, K, A – 0.2x for three, 0.5x for four, 1x for five

Even the top symbol only reaches 6x for a five-of-a-kind, so the base paytable won’t carry a session on its own. Mid-tier pairs like the Gun and the Money Bag with Knife pay identically, so the effective symbol count is smaller than it first looks. A full line of royals returns 1x, which tells you where the real money has to come from.

The real work is done by the Coffee Cup, and all four of the game’s features converge on it. The practical ceiling is whatever the wild multipliers and the paytable can combine to produce: a 10x-capped wild reel sitting on the best line the board can offer.

Wild Coffee Reels

The Coffee Cup is the wild, substituting for every symbol in the paytable. It can only land as a single Cup per reel. When a Coffee Cup forms part of a winning combination, it expands to cover the whole reel as a Wild Coffee Reel before wins are paid.

Once a reel has expanded, up to nine extra Coffee Cups drop onto it. Each one adds 1x to that reel’s multiplier, capped at 10x, and the multiplier applies to every win the reel takes part in. A reel that catches no extra Cups simply acts as a plain wild.

Where several Wild Coffee Reels contribute to the same win, their multipliers above 1x are added together rather than multiplied. A 3x reel and a 4x reel in one combination pay as 7x, not 12x.

Expansion also happens before any wins are handled, so a Cup sitting on a line that’s already a winner turns the whole reel wild first. The win then pays through the expanded positions.

Scatters and the Bonus Ladder

The FS scatter is the other symbol that matters. Landing three, four or five of them at the same time awards one of three bonus games, each a hotter take on the same formula. The tiers step up by scatter count:

• 3 FS scatters – MUG LIFE, 10 free spins, higher chance of Coffee Cups
• 4 FS scatters – BREWFATHER, 8 free spins, expanded reels stay activated
• 5 FS scatters – Espresso Empire, 10 free spins, at least 2 Coffee Cups guaranteed per spin

A BUY BONUS button also sits in the base game for anyone who’d rather skip the queue. Every bonus keeps the base game’s mechanics; what changes is how generously the Coffee Cup is dealt.

Coffee Dealer Free Spins & Bonus Rounds

All three bonuses use the same paytable and the same wild-reel rules, so nothing new to learn between them. The rounds differ only in how hard they push the Coffee Cup.

Retriggers work identically in each round:

• 2 FS scatters at the same time – +2 free spins
• 3 FS scatters at the same time – +4 free spins

MUG LIFE

Three FS scatters open the entry-level round with 10 free spins. Same rules, same symbols, but with a higher chance of Coffee Cups landing. It’s the plainest of the three and the one you’ll see most often, since three scatters are by far the likeliest trigger.

BREWFATHER

Four FS scatters unlock 8 free spins, and this is where the Wild Coffee Reels gain persistence. Once a Coffee Cup expands a reel, that reel stays activated for the rest of the round, and a Coffee Cup is guaranteed to land on it every subsequent spin.

That guarantee is the whole point of the tier. Each spin refreshes the activated reel with a fresh Cup, which re-expands and re-rolls its multiplier. An early expansion keeps producing for the full duration rather than paying once and going quiet.

Build a couple of activated reels early and every remaining spin starts with wilds already on the board. The retrigger math helps here too: two extra scatters extend a round that’s already compounding.

Espresso Empire

Five FS scatters award the hidden epic bonus, Espresso Empire: 10 free spins with at least two Coffee Cup symbols guaranteed on every spin. Where MUG LIFE merely raises the odds and BREWFATHER makes expansions stick, this round guarantees the raw material from the first spin onward.

It’s the round the whole game is pointed at, and the one the bonus buy menu charges the most for. Two guaranteed Cups per spin means two chances at an expansion on every single spin, which no other mode offers.

Retriggers still apply, so a five-scatter entry can grow well past its starting 10 spins.

Bonus Buy

The buy menu in the corner of the base game offers direct entry to the bonus rounds, priced by tier:

• MUG LIFE – entry-level tier
• BREWFATHER – mid tier
• Espresso Empire – top of the ladder

It’s the fastest route to the guaranteed-Cup round if the base game grind isn’t your pace.

Our Honest Verdict

Overall Rating: 7.1/10

Playing Coffee Dealer is mostly waiting for the next Cup. That’s the honest shape of it, and the reason to pick it is that when a Cup does expand and the extras start dropping, the moment lands properly. The alley is charming company while you wait: that bean with the bat is the best character Hacksaw have drawn in a while.

The strength is BREWFATHER. Making an expanded reel permanent is a genuinely smart piece of design, because one lucky spin keeps paying for the whole round instead of once. The weakness is everything between expansions: the paytable is thin enough that a session without wilds barely moves, and the 10x cap belongs to the Wild Coffee Reel alone, well short of the game’s 10,000x ceiling.

It’s a good pick for players who like one mechanic done properly rather than five done thinly, and the cartoon-crime setting makes the repetition easy to sit with. Players who want varied bonus rounds or a headline jackpot will find it a lean brew. For the rest, the alley is open and the mugs are strong.
