Cops N Robbers Megaways Slot Overview

The Robbers are up to their old tricks and the cops are back to knock them down a peg in Inspired Gaming’s upcoming game Cops N Robbers Megaways!

The Cops N Robbers series has proved to be a popular one, with spin offs like Cops N Robbers Millionaires Row, Cops N Robbers Safecracker and Cops N Robbers Vegas Vaction to name a few.

Cops N Robbers Megaway offers a nostalgic throwback for those who have seen the series play out over the years, but with an update to cater to todays player base with its modern Megaways update.

Despite the update, Cops N Robbers Megaways hasn’t quite lost its heritage entirely, with features in the game that will be reminiscent of what now may be considered a bygone era by some.

Let’s delve into Cops N Robbers Megaways and find out if the bobby finally caught the crook.

Cops N Robbers Megaways Theme

The Theme for Cops N Robbers Megaway is a simple one, with graphical qualities that might suggest to some that Cops N Robbers Megaways is older than it actually is.

This is obviously an intentional move from Inspired Gaming in a bid to give the fans a new game in the series, while also evoking fond memories of the older games.

In the background, you’ll see a London city Skyline at sunset, which will be a familiar sight to some who already played the original.

Seemingly not much has changed over the years, but not everything needs to have crystal clear modern graphics, especially when you want to stay true to a trusty original.

Cops N Robbers Megaways Betting and Symbols

The betting options available to players in Cops N Robbers Megaways is pretty standard for a Megaways Slot.

The lowest option in the game is £/€0.20 per spin, and the highest option is £/€20 per spin. Sometimes you may see Megaways games exceed this maximum bet, but more often than not these are the options available.

Despite lack of ridiculously high £/€100 spin options, Cops N Robbers Megaways should more than cater to players needs as it is.

The highest paying symbol in the game is the Cops N Robbers Symbol, followed by the Policeman, Money Bag, Cash and Police Car.

Low paying symbols are A, K, Q, J & 10.

Our favourite not-so-friendly canine Bonzo the Dog makes a debut yet again in Cops N Robbers Megaways, acting as a Wild Symbol.

Cops N Robbers Megaways: The Base Game and Features

Cops N Robbers Megaways features 6 reels and up to 117,649 ways to win.

The number of symbols on each reel determines the number of ways to win. Each symbol can hold up to 7 symbols each, and when all reels have 7 symbols you’ll have ‘max megaways’ or 117,649 ways to win.

There’s a horizontal reel at the top of the screen on top of reels 2-5 which acts as a sliding reel.

To form a win, you’ll need to connect at least 3 symbols from left to right, starting from the left-most reel. Winning symbols will disappear, leaving room for new symbols to fall in via a cascade, which creates the possibility of more winning combinations.

Any winning symbols within the sliding reel will cause the remaining symbols to slide left, which also creates the possibility of further winning combos.

Cops N Robbers Megaways also has Reel Modifiers to keep you entertained until you land a bonus, with Mystery Symbols and Increasing Megaways.

Mystery Symbols is a pretty common feature within a Megaways game. All mystery symbols will turn into the same symbol – This can be good if you make a connection all the way across and get a good symbol. Sadly, this feature is all too predictable. Full connections all the way across with a lot of symbols is absolutely almost 9’s or 10’s.

The other feature is the Increasing Megaways.

In this feature, a Robber will move across the screen, increasing the Megaways as he goes until the game reaches its maximum 117,649 ways. If the Robber Reaches the end before the Policeman catches him, then extra Scatters are included on the spin to guarantee a bonus.

Cops N Robbers Megaways Gameplay

Cops N Robbers Free Spins

Free Spins in Cops N Robbers Megaways is triggered when 3 or more bonus scatters land anywhere in view.

Once Free Spins are awarded, you’ll get the choice of choosing The Chase, or the Free Spins

The Chase

The Chase turns the play area into a board.

A Red and a Blue Dice is present – The Red Dice moves Bert the Robber around the board, and the Blue moves the Policeman.

To be successful, Bert needs to out run the police offer. He’ll get a head start in the form of a snooze count, which starts at 3. This is how many rolls you’ll get before the Policeman starts his persuit.

The count increases if an extra Scatter Symbol lands, and decreases every time Bert moves. Once the Policeman catches up to Bert, the round will take you to an ID parade, where Bert and other characters are lined up and randomly selected.

Landing Bert will put you in Jail, concluding the round. The other two characters will either increase the coins and return you to the bonus for another try, or award extra coins and return you again.

If luck is on your side, then you’ll get another snooze count when/if you return to The Chase Bonus Round.

This Bonus will definitely bring back some fond memories, but if you don’t fancy The Chase, then you can pick the Free Spins instead.

Free Spins

Free Spins will start with 8 Spins for 3 Scatters, and any more thereafter awards an additional 2 spins.

Before the round commences, you’ll get a chance on a gamble wheel, which will award more Free Spins if you’re successful. Of course, you risk losing your Free Spins entirely on the other hand.

Free Spins is played with both of the Mystery Symbols and Increasing Megaways, which may trigger at any time. There’s also a multiplier which increases when you accumulate wins, with +1 added to the multiplier with every cascade.

Bonzo The Dog makes his appearance in Free Spins. If he wakes up, he will act as a Walking Wild.

Starting from the right most section of the horizontal reel, he’ll start walking left until he disappears from view. If the Bonzo Dog Wild lands on the same reel as the Walking Wild in the regular reels, then he’ll form a stacked Wild, covering the entire reel.

Cops N Robbers Megaways: Our Verdict

Cops N Robbers Megaways is a great tribute to the original game, and its surprisingly full of features, given the fact that it’s a Megaways game.

It’s too easy for providers to create a sequel to a popular game by giving it a Megaways makeover that only encompasses Cascading Reels and Progressive Multipliers in the bonus, but Cops N Robbers Megaways offers so much more.

For a start you’ve got the reel modifiers which offers mystery symbols and increasing Megaways, and then you’ve got the Free Spins Features which offers either The Chase, or Free Spins with modifiers built in and an additional Bonzo The Dog Walking Wild Feature.

The retro style of the game might put off some who like their slots to look new and shiny, but you really shouldn’t disregard Cops N Robbers Megaways on this basis. With so much to offer, it could just turn into one of your preferred Megaways Slots

There are things that aren’t so attractive about the game, like the 95.19% RTP, and there are still things we don’t know given that it hasn’t released yet, such as the maximum win.

It’s said that none of the Wins will exceed £/€250,000, but this will be impossible on most stakes. With a bit of quick maths based on the max stake, we can guess that the Max Win sits at around 12,500x.

This may not be the final figure though.

Overall, Cops N Robbers Megaways may not be anything fancy in the graphical department, but it more than makes up for this through exciting gameplay and ample features.
