Cypher Of Ra Slot Review
Two golden cobras rear up from the corners of a heavy gold frame, chains hang past flooded stone columns, and the whole temple hall glows teal like it sank a few millennia ago. Strip the sunken temple away, though, and Cypher Of Ra is really a game about one small counter at the top of the reels – and that counter, not the Egypt dressing, is the only reason to play it.
Fantasma Games built Flower Fortunes and Medallion Megaways on the same instinct: one system, made to matter. Here it’s a 6×5 grid with 10,000 ways, a paytable that leans hard on its top symbol, and a cascade multiplier that gets its real teeth only when the bonus round stops resetting it. The god of the sun was never in a hurry, and neither is this engine.
Base Game & Features
Wins pay from left to right, with three or more identical symbols needed on consecutive reels across the 10,000 ways. It’s a conventional enough setup for a 6×5 grid. What makes the base game tick is the way every win feeds the machinery around it.

Cascade Multiplier
Winning symbols disappear and new symbols fall into the gaps. Each consecutive winning cascade bumps a Cascade Multiplier up by +1, and the multiplier then applies to the current win. A counter at the top of the grid tracks the running value, starting at x1 and stepping to x2 and beyond as the chain grows.
One spin can therefore chain several payouts at escalating values. The multiplier only survives while the chain survives. A dead drop resets everything, and the next win starts back at x1.
The order of events is straightforward: each consecutive cascade increases the multiplier by +1, and the new value is applied to the win that triggered it. That’s why long chains grow so quickly towards the top of a spin.

Frames
Framed symbols can appear on the reels during any spin. A Silver Frame upgrades to a Gold Frame when its symbol forms part of a winning combination. A Gold Frame then becomes a Locked Wild the next time its symbol wins.
The upgrade path is always the same two steps: silver, gold, wild. Frames last for the current spin only. Their value is concentrated rather than carried, and a framed symbol that never wins never moves at all.
The framing and the cascades work as one system. A win that removes a framed symbol upgrades the frame, and the fresh symbols falling into the gap can immediately win again, feeding the Cascade Multiplier at the same time. Two features, one chain of events.

The wild substitutes for other symbols and helps those frame upgrades land, which is the full extent of its job here. It’s a supporting piece, not a headline.
Symbol Values
Pays are multiples of stake for three, four, five and six matching symbols:
- Ra – 80x, 160x, 240x, 360x
- Purple Anubis – 60x, 100x, 160x, 240x
- Green Anubis / Blue Anubis – 40x, 60x, 100x, 160x
- K / Q – 20x, 40x, 60x, 80x
- J / 10 / 9 – 10x, 20x, 30x, 40x
Ra is the symbol doing the heavy lifting, paying 360x for six. The drop from Ra to the mid-tier Anubis family is steep, and the royals pay pocket change by comparison, which tells you where the game expects its money to come from.
The ladder’s shape rewards the climb. Ra pays nine times what a J pays at three symbols, and the same gap holds at every count, so the top of the ladder matters far more than the bottom. With the cascade multiplier stacked on top, that top symbol is the one doing all the real work in a long chain.
Cypher Of Ra Bonus Spins
Landing four or more Bonus symbols triggers the Bonus Spins round. Bonus symbols stay on the reels during cascades until the spin ends, and each extra symbol beyond the fourth awards five additional spins. The awards step up as follows:
- 4 Bonus symbols – 10 Bonus Spins
- 5 Bonus symbols – 15 Bonus Spins
- 6 Bonus symbols – 20 Bonus Spins

Inside the round, three rules change in your favour. The Cascade Multiplier carries over from one Bonus Spin to the next rather than resetting, so a hot streak compounds across spins. Collected Multiplier symbols are permanently added for the rest of the feature.
Both of those stack. A carried multiplier that keeps growing, plus permanent multiplier symbols feeding it, is what gives the round its ceiling – and the round needs it, because the third rule pulls the other way.
That third rule: Frames and Locked Wilds reset at the start of each new Bonus Spin, so nothing frame-built survives from one spin to the next. Every Bonus Spin begins with a clean set of reels and only the multiplier standing.
The round cannot be retriggered. Once your spins are spent, they’re spent, and everything rests on what that carried multiplier can build before the count runs dry.
Scatter Boost
An optional side bet costing 2x the corresponding stake increases the chance of triggering Bonus Spins by 6x. Gameplay is otherwise identical to the main game, with the same reels, the same symbols and the same cascades.
The boost can still trigger Bonus Spins while it’s on. It isn’t available during the round itself, so it’s a base-game tool only.
Feature Buy
Direct entry to the round costs 50x the corresponding bet and awards 10, 15 or 20 Bonus Spins at random. That’s the full price list, and the random spin count means you’re buying the feature, not a specific tier of it.
Between the two routes, the buy is the blunt instrument: one flat payment, no control over the outcome. The boost at least leaves the base game running while it works.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.1/10
This is a game of patience dressed in gold. Most of a session is spent watching the base game churn through small wins while the multiplier climbs and collapses, climbs and collapses – and the reason you’d choose it over a dozen shinier Egypt slots is that the bonus round finally lets the counter keep what it earns. When the free spins string together, it feels like the game has been holding back the whole time.
The strength is that carried multiplier. It turns a run of ordinary spins into something that genuinely compounds, and no published ceiling exists for this game, so what it can reach is an open question rather than a number. The weakness is the Feature Buy: 50x for a random spin count is poor value when the Scatter Boost reaches the same round at half the cost per attempt and keeps the reels spinning.
If you enjoy a slow build and don’t need retriggers or a jackpot ladder to hold your attention, this is your temple. Players who want constant action will find the base game quiet – but Ra always rewarded the ones who waited.
