Dynamite Diggin Doug Slot Review 2024

Come on a digging adventure in Pragmatic Play partner Reel Kingdom’s latest tile, Dynamite Digging Doug!

Doug, the game’s main character, stands on the side of the reels with a big smile while you attempt to trigger bonus features and land significant wins.

We have previously played other mining-themed slots and enjoyed many experiences. We hope Dynamite Digging Doug is just as good, if not better.

Find out what Dynamite Digging Doug is all about in our in-depth review.

Dynamite Diggin Doug - Base Game

Dynamite Diggin Doug – Base Game

Base Game & Features

Dynamite Digging Doug is a five-reel, three-row slot developed by Reel Kingdom. It is playable with a variety of bet sizes, including a minimum bet of £/€0.10 and a maximum bet of £/€250 per spin. The game is played across 10 fixed pay lines, and wins are formed by landing five or more identical symbols.

The game contains five high-paying symbols – a fish, shovel, lamp, trolley, and a hatchet. Landing five of one of these symbols will result in a win worth between 10x and 100x the bet. The game’s low-paying symbols are the standard A, K, Q, J, and 10. They can pay between 2x and 5x the bet for five matching symbols.

Dynamite Digging Doug does not have a wild symbol. We are guessing it is still undiscovered somewhere in a mine. However, the game does have a scatter symbol, presented as the word scatter and two hatchets. This is your key to the bonus game!

It has a theoretical RTP rating of 96.52%, a maximum volatility rating, and an underwhelming maximum win worth 3,000x the bet, winnable with every spin. Pragmatic Play has released additional versions with 95.52% and 94.52% return to player ratings.

Plunger Prize

As we can see, the Plunger Symbol is that of a dynamite lighter. It can land in the middle spot and during the bar game.

If you get lucky enough to land a Dynamite Detonator, you will receive a random prize from the Dynamite paytable. A bronze, silver, or gold reward will trigger the bonus game.

Dynamite Prize

You will trigger this feature when you land 3 or more Dynamite symbols on the reels at any point during the base game.

The more dynamite symbols that you can land, the bigger the win. You can land a maximum of 10 dynamite symbols, and rewards vary between 0.5x and 100x the bet.

Bonus Buy

The feature buy option is perfect if you want to jump straight into the bonus game. You can pay 100x the bet to activate the bonus round without the need to land three or more scatter symbols.

Triggering the bonus game using the feature buy option slightly increases the RTP rating to 96.53%.

Dynamite Bonus Game

The dynamite bonus round begins by landing 3 or more Scatter symbols. The bonus round happens on the original playing grid, but only dynamite symbols and blank spaces can land.

At the beginning of the round, you will receive 3 Lives. Each time you land a new symbol, the total resets to three. If you keep all your lives before the fuse, visible at the side of the reels, burns out, you will receive multipliers.

When a dynamite symbol lands, all the dynamite symbols on the grid move down a place, as does the lit fuse. Those prizes that fall out the bottom of the grid get collected by Doug, and the win value gets paid out. Doug will then launch the dynamite back onto the reels, increasing the chances of landing additional wins.

Conclusion

This game takes you to the depths of a gold mine to meet Doug, not for the first time. For those of you who have played any of the Big Bass series, you will be familiar with the happy chap. We have become used to Reel Kingdom releasing fishing-themed slots, so the introduction of Dynamite Digging Doug is appreciated.

Moving away from the theme and focusing on the stats, there is little to complain about. With an RTP rating of 96.52% during the base game, we couldn’t have asked for much more. However, the maximum win is relatively low compared to previous titles from Reel Kingdom.

As for the gameplay, it is as smooth as any game we have played. The transition from the base game to the bonus round is effortless, making the overall experience memorable. If we were to criticise one thing about the gameplay, it would be the lack of free spins. We believe free spins would elevate the game and make it much more appealing.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our first experience playing Dynamite Digging Doug. We can safely say it will not be our last.
