Base Game & Features

Eldritch Dungeon is an 8×8 Grid Slot featuring a Cluster Pays mechanic. Secure your bet size, ranging from £.€0.10 per spin and £.€50 per spin, with multiple bets in between the two.

This game has a theoretical RTP of 96.10%, a High Volatility rating, and a max win cap of 20,000x your bet. Print Studios has also included lower RTP variants of 94.07% and 86.10%.

Eldritch Dungeon has 4 High and Low-paying symbols that generate wins when 5 or more of the same symbol type land adjacent to each other. Winning clusters are removed from the grid, making room for new symbols to drop in from above.

The Wild Warrior begins at a random position on reel 1, substituting for all paytable symbols. When winning clusters are removed, it opens a path to the Dungeon Battle Bonus, featured at a random position on reel 8. Defeat enemies hiding below the surface to trigger Spectral Effects and Collect Power Relics (more on these below).

Spectral Effects

As you journey across the game grid, one of the following Spectral Effects may be revealed:

  • Nightwing – Transforms 10 symbols into the same symbol type
  • Elderwing – Transforms 19 symbols into the same symbol type
  • Nightfang – Adds 4 Wilds to random positions
  • Elderfang – Adds 10 Wilds to random positions

During each spin, 4 symbol positions will hide an enemy. Defeating an enemy will award 1 Spectral Effect.

Power Relics

Power Relics are special in-game enhancers that apply to the Warrior’s abilities during the Dungeon Battle Bonus. Defeating an enemy awards 1 of 4 Power Relics:

  • Relic of Vitality – Increases health
  • Relic of Strength – Each attack causes more damage
  • Relic of Fury – Some attacks cause significant damage
  • Relic of Protection – Some enemy attacks are blocked

Companions

At the start of any game round, you can select a companion to help you on your travels, of which there are 3 to choose from. Unlock new companions each time you play. Each companion has its own statistics, focusing on Speed, Damage, Bonus Frequency, and Volatility.

  • Arcanist – Wields powerful spells to manipulate the battlefield and instantly vanquish foes
  • Ranger – Excellent pathfinding to reach the exit and deadly against most enemies
  • Mauler – Utilizes brute strength to demolish obstacles and is powerful in combat against multiple foes

Each companion is equipped with a special Companion Strike feature:

  • Arcanist – Transforms 11-16 symbols of the same type into a new High or Low-paying symbol, removing adjacent symbols above and below. Preferred enemy: Gnaw Brute (volatility level 4).
  • Ranger – Transforms one line of 8 symbols to the same High or Low-paying symbol, removing adjacent symbols above and below. Preferred Enemy: Wraiths (volatility level 3).
  • Mauler – Transforms 2 areas of 2×2 symbols into the same High or Low-paying symbol, removing all surrounding symbols. Preferred Enemy: Elderkin (volatility level 5).

Feature Bet

Activating the Feature Bet guarantees 1 Companion Strike and up to 4 defeated enemies within the first spin.

  • 1 Companion Strike – 17.3x your bet
  • 1 Companion Strike + 1 defeated enemy – 45.5x your bet
  • 1 Companion Strike + 2 defeated enemies – 83.6x your bet
  • 1 Companion Strike + 3 defeated enemies – 143.7x your bet
  • 1 Companion Strike + 4 defeated enemies – 218x your bet

Dungeon Battle Bonus

The Dungeon Battle Bonus triggers when the Wild Warrior reaches the exit position on reel 8 in the base game.

During the first 8 battles, the Wild Warrior and Companion will face 1 of 3 enemies, each equipped with a unique difficulty level. Defeating an enemy with a difficulty level of 1, 2, or 3 awards 2, 4, and 6 Spectral Keys respectively.

  • Spectral Key – Unlocks one grid position in the Treasure Hall Spins round.
  • Portal Shard – Allows the defeated Warrior to pass to the next enemy room during the Dungeon Battle Bonus (2 Portal Shards are granted each bonus).

Power Relics enhance your chance of winning battles, and the ones yet to be collected may be awarded after a winning battle. In the 9th battle, the Warrior will face ‘The Old One’ alone.

Defeating ‘The Old One’ will unlock all grid positions in the Treasure Hall Spins round, placing a 4×4 Coin in the middle, along with a x2 Multiplier on the largest Coin upon evaluation. The Dungeon Battle Bonus ends when 3 battles have been lost, or having battled against ‘The Old One’.

Treasure Hall Spins

Treasure Hall Spins begins immediately after the Dungeon Battle Bonus, playing out on an 8×8 Grid with 6 positions unlocked in the middle. Each Spectral Key collected in the Dungeon Battle Bonus will unlock +1 additional grid position.

Landing a Spectral Key symbol during this time will unlock 2, 3, or 6 additional grid positions. The round begins with 3 refilling spins that reset each time a Coin or Spectral Key hits. Coin symbols always merge into the biggest possible square size.

When no more spins remain, each Coin symbol will pay its respective value according to the paytable, ending the Treasure Hall Spins round.

Conclusion

Few try to integrate the innovative and entertaining aspects of the immensely popular video game industry with iGaming, but Print Studios have here and have before with slots like Cash Defence and Reapers.

Eldritch Dungeon reminds us of a video game called Slay the Spire, where you progress through the levels via a trail not unlike the one here to progress higher and higher. The more victories, the better it is for both your ego and in the case of Eldritch Dungeon, your balance. What you’re after here are keys, which unlock positions on the grid in the Treasure Hall Spins that will commence after the conclusion of the Dungeon Battle. This bonus can take a while, maybe a bit longer than it should, especially if the win is frustratingly low

Print Studios have been praised highly for the video game elements of some of their slots, but you can’t please everyone, and it may well have worked against them within demographics that want good old-fashioned reels. Eldritch Dungeon gives players a mix of both, and we’d implore those adverse to unconventional ideas to give Eldritch Dungeon the chance it deserves to prove itself.

At its best, Eldritch Dungeon can bestow upon brave combatants 20,000x the bet, which is more than enough to send even the feeble among us roaring into the dungeons of Eldritch, ready, willing and fully prepared to slay anything that dares to stand in our way.
