Fishin Frenzy Jackpot King Slot Review
The most interesting thing on this screen isn’t underwater. It’s the three jackpot meters strung above the reels like bunting on a pier, ticking upward while the fishing goes on below, and they’re the honest reason this version of Fishin’ Frenzy exists: it’s a lottery ticket wearing a familiar rod and tackle. Blueprint Gaming has left the bright, glossy underwater scene alone and hung the progressive pots over the top of it.
The argument here is the chase for those meters rather than the fishing itself. Fishin Frenzy Jackpot King runs on a 5×4 grid with 10 always-active paylines, at 93.32% RTP including the jackpot and reserve contributions, and a maximum win of 250,000x the total bet. That ceiling towers over anything else in the series. Fishin’ Frenzy The Big Catch and Fishin’ Frenzy Reely Big Catch fish the same waters without the pots.
Base Game & Features
Wins form when two to five matching symbols line up on consecutive reels from the left, on any of the 10 lines. Line wins are multiplied by the bet on the winning line, and only the highest combination on each line pays. All 10 lines are always active, on every spin.
Wins on different lines are added together to form the total win, and scatter wins are paid on top of line wins. Feature symbols count as scatters, so they pay from any position regardless of lines, and multiple scatter features can land in a single game.
The Fisherman is the wild. He substitutes for everything except the scatter and bonus symbols, and only the highest paying combination on a line counts: three wilds on a line pay as three wilds or help build a four-symbol win, whichever is worth more, never both.
The paytable, in multiples of the line bet:
- Fisherman (wild): 5 pays 1,000, 4 pays 150, 3 pays 30
- Pelican: 5 pays 2,000, 4 pays 200, 3 pays 50
- Lifebuoy: 5 pays 500, 4 pays 100, 3 pays 20
- Tackle box: 5 pays 300, 4 pays 100, 3 pays 20
- Fish (any position): 5 pays 200, 4 pays 50, 3 pays 10
- Royals A, K, Q, J and 10: 5 pays 100, 4 pays 25, 3 pays 5
- Boat scatter: 5 awards 20 free games, 4 awards 15, 3 awards 10
Two things stand out in that list. The Fish symbol pays in any position rather than on a line, which matters more once the bonus round turns it into a cash prize. And the five royals share a single row of values, so the lower half of the paytable moves as one block.
Fish land carrying value overlays, so a screen with several of them plus a Fisherman in the bonus can stack up quickly. In the base game they’re just paytable symbols.
Fishin Frenzy Jackpot King Free Spins & Jackpot King Bonus
Free Spins Bonus
Three or more boat scatters anywhere in view award the bonus: 10 free games for three, 15 for four and 20 for five. The round plays on the same 10 lines and the same bet per line as the triggering spin, so nothing about the maths changes mid-feature.
Inside the free games the Fisherman comes alive. Any spin where he lands, he collects the cash value of every Fish symbol also in view. Several Fishermen on one screen each do the same collecting, which is where the round’s biggest totals come from.
The feature runs on its own paytable, and it’s a richer one than the base game’s. Fisherman catches pay from just two matches during the free games, and each Fish carries a catch prize of its own on top of the values it shows. The Fisherman himself also substitutes for everything, catches included, while he’s collecting.
There’s no retrigger. Free spins run until the allotted games are used, then the accumulated bonus winnings pay out and the round ends. That’s the whole shape of it: a fixed pot of games, and everything depends on how often the Fisherman shows up while they last.
Jackpot King Deluxe Bonus
On any spin, five Jackpot King Deluxe overlay symbols across reels one to five can trigger the jackpot feature. It’s available on every stake, and it’s the only route to the three pots ticking above the reels: Royal, Jackpot King and Regal.
Once inside, you spin to collect Crown symbols and climb a win ladder. Each Crown adds to the multiplier the ladder will pay if you cash out. After any spin you pick from icons that reveal one of three outcomes:
- SPIN: another spin, with more Crowns adding to the ladder
- COLLECT: ends the feature and pays the total-bet multiplier you reached on the ladder
- WHEEL KING: goes straight to the Wheel King round
Fifteen or more Crowns also send you to the Wheel King, which is the only place a jackpot can be won. It’s a tombola-style wheel of big total-bet multiplier segments and progressive pot segments, so every visit ends with something. There’s no choosing once the wheel is spinning; the segment it stops on is the prize.
The pots themselves are funded by contributions from every player’s stake, with only the initial seeds paid by the operator. When a pot is won it resets to its reserve value and starts climbing again, so the meters never sit empty.
The Royal and Regal pots carry a must-be-won-by figure, so their odds improve as the meters grow. Simultaneous wins can’t happen: should two players appear to win at the same time, the first to trigger takes the full amount and the second plays the reserve pot plus anything contributed since.
Auto Play
Autoplay runs spins automatically at your chosen stake, and you set the number of games before starting. It switches itself off in three cases:
- any bonus round, including Free Spins
- a progressive pot win
- reaching the loss limit you set
It can also be stopped between spins at any time via the stop button.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 6.9/10
This is a slow day on the pier, and you’d choose it for one reason only: the three meters ticking overhead. Most spins are six symbols and a lot of blue water, with the real action rationed out by the Fisherman and the overlay symbols. That patience buys you a shot at pots the plain Fishin’ Frenzy games can’t offer.
The Wheel King is the best thing here, because every visit to the jackpot feature ends on the wheel and the icon picks give you something to decide rather than something to watch. The weakness is the price of the ticket: every spin pays into the pots, so the return runs three points below the better versions of this series, and the free games can’t retrigger to make up the difference.
If a network jackpot is what you’re after, this is the Fishin’ Frenzy to play. Anyone counting value per spin will catch more elsewhere in the series.
