Fortune Joker 20 Slot Review
Fortune Joker 20 hides its best idea inside its shortest round. Most fruit machines save the spectacle for the base game and let the bonus be an afterthought, but this one flips it: five spins that lock wilds in place and then pay for their own extension. Everything around that round is deliberately plain, all gold scroll frame, dark blue velvet and a jester’s cap perched on the side rail, a fruit machine dressed like a Vegas curio.
Amatic have kept the format strictly traditional here. It’s a 5×3 grid with 20 fixed paylines, fruit symbols, a joker wild and a compact bonusspins round. No RTP or volatility figures are published for this one, so the mechanics have to carry the case on their own.
Base Game & Features
The base game is a straight line-payer. Wins form left to right across the 20 fixed lines, and only the highest combination on each line counts. All twenty lines are active on every spin, so there’s no bet configuration to think about: you set a stake and the game spreads it across the full board.
Each winline has its own numbered path, and a spin can hit several of them at once. Wins from different lines add together, which is how a spin full of low-tier fruit can still produce a respectable total.
Symbols and Pays
Six symbols fill the table, and they’re grouped into three pay tiers:
- Horseshoe – 20x for three, 100x for four, 400x for five
- 7 – 40x for three, 200x for four, 2000x for five
- Watermelon – 10x for three, 40x for four, 200x for five
- Grapes – 10x for three, 40x for four, 200x for five
- Plum – 5x for three, 25x for four, 150x for five
- Lemon – 5x for three, 20x for four, 100x for five
All multiples are per line stake, and the tiers sit close together. There’s no runaway top symbol here, and no runt at the bottom either: the table is compressed rather than spread. Symbols pay the same within their pairs, so a Horseshoe line is worth exactly what a 7 line is worth, which keeps the fifth-reel reveal honest if never thrilling.
The Joker Wild
The Joker appears only on reels two, three and four, and substitutes for every symbol except the scatters. That’s its whole job, and it does it without ceremony. Because it can only land on the middle three reels, it completes lines rather than starting them.
Scatter Symbols
Two symbols pay as scatters from any position: the Bell and the Bonus. Scatter wins don’t need a payline, so they land wherever they land and pay regardless. The Bonus symbol only appears on reels one, three and five, which is where the bonusspins round begins.
Line wins during ordinary play are modest by design. The fruit tiers sit low, and the shared top pair means there’s no single reel symbol to root for above the others. The base game is about steady small returns rather than standout hits, with the Bell scatter dropping in occasional payline-free wins between them.
Fortune Joker 20 Bonusspins and Boosts
Triggering the Bonus
Three Bonus symbols anywhere on the reels award five bonusspins. Because the Bonus symbol only appears on reels one, three and five, you need all three of those reels to cooperate at once. It’s a narrow door, and five spins through it is a short round by any standard.
Held Jokers
Any Joker that lands during the bonus freezes on the reels and stays there until the round is over. Each one is a wild, so the board gradually fills with sticky wilds as the spins run down.
The structure rewards late Jokers as much as early ones. A Joker on the final spin still covers its position for that spin, while one on the first spin works five times over. Five spins is few, but the round builds towards its close instead of paying out in isolated bursts.
Extra Bonusspins
When the round ends with two or more Jokers held, an extra bonusspin can be triggered, and its price works in a specific way:
- The cost of the extra spin depends on how many Jokers are held
- It’s deducted from your winnings
- A maximum of three extra bonusspins can be bought this way
- Each one is only offered if your winnings exceed its cost
It’s a neat mechanic: the round can extend itself, but only while it’s in profit. The game decides the arithmetic, and the option disappears the moment the numbers stop working. More held Jokers mean a richer board, and a richer board is what the extra spin is buying you.
Boost the Bonus
Before any spin, an Extra Bet feature lets you improve your odds of reaching the round. Two options are available:
- Double the chances – doubles your chances of triggering the bonus
- +2 Extra BS – adds two bonusspins at the start of the round, taking it from five to seven
Both carry an extra cost on top of the base stake. What’s clear is the logic: pay more per spin, reach the held-Joker round more often or start it with two extra chances to lock wilds in place.
The two boosts suit different approaches. Doubling the trigger chances matters most if the round itself is what you’re after, while the extra spins compound with the hold mechanic, giving late Jokers more spins to work across.
Running a boost on every spin makes the base game more expensive without changing the pay table, so the value sits entirely in how often you reach the bonus. Players who mostly want the fruit lines can leave the Extra Bet off and play the plain game. The choice is there on every spin, and nothing locks it in.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.1/10
This is a game you spin on autopilot while waiting for one narrow door to open. The reason to pick it is that door: a short round where the jester finally earns his keep, freezing in place and filling the board as the spins run down. It’s over quickly, and that suits it.
The strongest thing here is that the bonus extends itself only while it’s winning. The round has to justify its own continuation, which is rarer than it should be and gives five spins a shape most longer rounds lack. The weakest thing is everything either side of it: a compressed pay table with no chase symbol means the base game runs together, spin after spin, with nothing to look forward to but fruit.
If you want spectacle, walk on by. But anyone after an old-school fruit machine that respects your attention span, pays in tidy lines and saves one clever trick for the end will find the gilded little cabinet earns its spot on the shelf.
