Base Game & Features

Fourfold The Gold is a 5-reel, 3-row video slot with 25 fixed pay lines. Paytable symbols are guaranteed to award wins when 3-5 matching symbols land on adjoining reels, starting from reel 1.

The Beer Barrel has the highest pay value, followed by the Horseshoe, Pint, Pipe, Spades, Hearts, Clubs, & Diamonds. After a spin is complete, each winning combination awards a fixed payout between 0.2x and 8x your bet. Additionally, Wild symbols on reels 2-5 substitute for all symbols except Scatters, Boosters, Express Collect, and Prize symbols.

Lucky Levels

In the base game, each spin deducts -1 from the Lucky Level Chest located to the left of the main reel set. When the Lucky Level Chest reaches 0, a unique Modifier activates, depending on which Level is available:

• Lucky Level 1: Requires 10 Spins to activate. Once unlocked, a magic hat now appears in the base game & Multiplier in the Free Spins mode. Furthermore, Wilds or Prize symbols are added to reels 2, 3, & 4 at random.
• Lucky Level 2: Requires 30 Spins to activate. Once unlocked, Wheel Bonus Multipliers are activated. Each time a Minor, Maxi, or Mini Prize is awarded, the Multiplier increases by +x1.
• Lucky Level 3: Requires 60 Spins to activate. This level allows Sticky Scatters to appear on reels 2, 3, & 4 in the base game.
• Lucky Level 4: Requires 100 Spins to initiate. This level allows Repeat Scatters to appear on reels 2, 3, & 4 in the base game.
• Lucky Level 5: Requires 150 Spins to initiate. Once active, a minimum payout between 20x and 200x your bet is guaranteed during Sticky or Repeat Free Spins modes.
• Lucky Level 6: Requires 250 Spins to unlock. Once active, the Wheel Bonus upgrades to the Super Wheel Bonus, where Jackpot Prizes & Free Spins modes can be won.

Express Collect

The Express Collect feature activates when a Trigger symbol appears on reels 1 and/or 5 in the base game, followed by Prize symbols on the remaining reels. Once active, the Trigger symbol gathers all available Prize symbols between 0.8x and 200x your bet, awarding their total combined value once complete.

Wheel Bonus

During the base game, each Prize symbol that hits without a Trigger symbol may randomly activate the Wheel Bonus. Once active, players are awarded a single Wheel Spin to be awarded one of the following Prizes:

Fourfold The Gold: Free Spins

Landing 3 Multiplier Scatters on reels 2, 3, & 4 in the base game triggers the Multiplier Free Spins mode, awarding 10 Free Spins.

In this mode, Split Prize symbols become available. When they appear alongside a Trigger symbol, they will split to reveal 2-6 identical Prize symbols of the same value. Additionally, the Multiplier Meter, which can advance in the base game & Express Collect feature, applies to Trigger symbols on reels 1 and/or 5.

During Free Spins, the Multiplier Booster can randomly appear on paytable symbols, Scatters, Wilds, Trigger, & Prize symbols, increasing the current Multiplier by 0.5x, up to a maximum of x10.

This mode also includes a Minimum Win Meter, activated on Lucky Level 5. The value of the Minimum Win Meter increases by 10x your bet each time the Multiplier Meter advances, up to a maximum of 200x your bet.

If the total win at the end of the session is less than the Minimum Win Meter, the total win is rounded up to match the displayed value. After this, the Multiplier Meter resets to a random figure between 20x and 80x.

Sticky Free Spins

Alternatively, landing 3 Sticky Scatters on reels 2, 3, & 4 triggers the Sticky Free Spins mode, where the number of Free Spins is determined by the value of the Sticky Free Spins Meter at the time of its trigger.

In this mode, Rising Prize symbols become available, leaving only this symbol, Blanks, Prizes, & Trigger symbols in play at this time. Trigger symbols are again limited to reels 1 & 5, while Prize and Rising Prize symbols cover the remaining reels.

Each time a Prize or Rising Prize symbol hits, it is locked in position until the end of the feature. When a Rising Prize symbol appears in view, it will increase its current value between 0.4x and 4x your bet in each subsequent spin. Please note that the Express Collect feature may also trigger at this time.

In the base game, the Sticky Booster symbol can randomly appear on all symbols except Scatters, Wilds, Mega Jackpots, Trigger, & Prize symbols. Starting the Sticky Free Spins Meter with 7 Free Spins, each Sticky Booster increases the number of spins by +1, up to a maximum of 25.

Again, this mode has a Minimum Win Meter, where if the total win of the feature is less than its current figure, the total win is rounded up to match the displayed value, before being reset to a value between 20x and 80x in the base game.

Repeat Win Free Spins

The final Free Spins mode available is Repeat Win, which triggers when 3 Repeat Scatters land on reels 2, 3, & 4 in the base game, awarding 3 Free Spins. If no Repeat Win symbol appears within the initial 3 Free Spins, an additional +3 Free Spins are awarded as a consolation prize.

In this mode, the Repeat Win symbol carries the accumulated Prize from the base game, which may randomly appear on the reels. When in view, the Repeat Win value is awarded, afterwhich, the current Free Spins are reset to 3.

Again, a special Repeat Win Booster symbol may appear randomly throughout spins. The Repeat Win Meter initially begins from 5x your bet, with each Booster symbol increasing its value by 5x, up to a maximum of 50x your bet.

As is the case with the other two Free Spins modes, this feature includes a Minimum Win Meter, where if the total win is less than its current value, it will round it up to match the displayed value, up to a maximum of 200x your bet, after which, it resets to a value between 20x and 80x your bet in the base game.

Our Honest Verdict

Fourfold The Gold tries to present itself as the most advanced entry in High Limit Studio’s Gold series, but in practice, it feels more like a mechanical remix than a true step forward.

While the game adds extra layers through Split Prizes, Rising Prizes, Repeat Win Free Spins, and the expanded Lucky Level system, much of this added complexity serves to mask the fact that the overall risk-reward profile has been tightened. With a maximum win of 5,000x your bet, Fourfold The Gold actually offers less upside than Threefold The Gold, despite pushing harder on multipliers, boosters, and bonus frequency.

The result is a slot that fires features more often and looks busier on screen, but does not deliver the same long-term thrill or ceiling-chasing appeal that defined the earlier entries in the series. For players who enjoy structured progression, guaranteed minimums, and frequent bonus triggers, Fourfold The Gold will feel comfortable and controlled. For anyone chasing true breakout potential, it represents a more conservative, safer evolution rather than a bold one.

All in all, it’s a decent game suited to casual players, but forgettable in the grand scheme of things. It may garner some attention when it occupies its space in the ‘new games’ section of the casino, but we do not foresee any meaningful longevity.
