Base Game & Features
Genie’s Gem Bonanza is a highly volatile, 6-reel, 5-row Video Slot with a Scatter Pays mechanic. Winning combinations occur when 8 or more matching symbols land anywhere on the reels, regardless of their current position.
The highest-paying symbol falls to the Red Gem, triggering payouts between 5x and 50x your bet for 8-30 instances. The 8 remaining symbols, consisting of coloured Gems, award a fixed payout between 0.25x and 20x your bet.
Due to the Scatter Pays mechanic, this game does not include Wild symbols; however, it does have individual Scatter & Genie Multiplier symbols. When a winning combination occurs, the scattered win will be destroyed, making room for new symbols to drop in via an Avalanche Feature. The total win of the session is revealed above the main reel set.
Genie Multipliers
Throughout gameplay, Genie Multipliers can appear anywhere on the reels, displaying a random Multiplier between x2 and x100. After an Avalanche event, the values of all present Genie Multipliers are added together and applied before the total win is paid out.
At the start of a new spin, the available Genie Multipliers are removed, as are their total values.
Mystery Symbols
In addition to Genie Multipliers, the game can reveal Mystery symbols that enhance or create winning combinations on the reels. When they appear, they will reveal the same high or low-paying symbol or Cash Coins.
If Cash Coins are awarded, they will reveal a random value between 1x and 100x your bet, which is applied to your total win of the session. Alternatively, the Genie to the right of the grid can award Scatter, Multiplier, or Mystery symbols to random positions within a single spin.
Genie’s Gem Bonanza Free Spins
Triggering the Free Spins mode requires 4 or more Scatters to land in the base game, awarding 12 Free Spins, plus an extra +2 Free Spins for every scatter after the 4th.
This mode maintains the same features and mechanics found in the base game. Finally, landing 3 or more Scatters awards an additional +4 Free Spins, plus an extra +2 Free Spins for every Scatter after the 4th.

Our Honest Verdict
Genie’s Gem Bonanza doesn’t do well to distinguish itself too much from generic titles, though there’s certainly a market for certain buzzwords that Genie’s Gem Bonanza contains. In fact, the whole title is a big buzzword, but it doesn’t necessarily relate to hype.
It features some fairly standard features, which some may argue are staples. Mystery Symbols and Multiplier Wilds are two sure-fire ways to make a slot appealing, but we think it doesn’t quite grab the demographic with higher standards.
It wouldn’t be fair to call Genie’s Gem Bonanza bad – it has decent potential with 10,000x the bet as a maximum win. It’s plenty enough in its current form to draw players in, but perhaps not memorable enough to live rent-free in the heads of players. Pragmatic Play can afford such losses with their rapid-fire conveyor belt of slots, but as enthusiasts, we prefer quality over quantity.
Overall, it’s a good effort from Pragmatic Play once more, but probably a B-tier game compared to others in their catalogue.
