Greedy Fortune Pig

Greedy Fortune Pig Slot Review

Pink cherry blossom spills over the curved roof tiles of a red-and-green pagoda, temple rooftops haze out behind lacquered pillars, and a golden pig presides over the middle of it all. Greedy Fortune Pig goes all-in on Chinese fortune imagery, and it’s the glossy kind rather than the flat sticker kind, though a theme this well-trodden lives or dies on what happens when the reels stop.

Pragmatic Play‘s answer to that is movement: this is a slot about things that walk across the screen. It runs on a 5×4 grid with 10 paylines, medium volatility and a 96.50% RTP, with stakes from 0.10 to 250.00.

It sits in familiar company alongside Lucky Fortune Tree, Fat Panda and Chests of Cai Shen in the studio’s eastern-fortune corner of the catalogue.

Base Game & Features

Wins pay across 10 fixed paylines on a five-reel, four-row grid. Three, four or five matching symbols from the left is the standard pattern, and only the highest combination on a line counts. WILD symbols substitute for everything except the BONUS and MONEY symbols.

When a WILD lands, it expands to fill its whole reel. Wins are paid, then a respin triggers and the expanded WILD walks one reel towards the left edge. More expanded WILDs can arrive during those respins and behave the same way.

The chain continues until no expanded WILDs remain on screen, with wins and MONEY symbol collections paid after every respin. A single WILD can therefore generate several respins on its own, and a late-arriving second WILD extends the run further.

MONEY Symbols and the Respin Multiplier

MONEY symbols can appear anywhere on the screen and carry a random value, drawn from the following set as multiples of the total bet:

• Standard values – 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x or 8x the total bet
• MINI – 10x the total bet
• MINOR – 20x the total bet
• MAJOR – 40x the total bet
• GRAND – 100x the total bet

When MONEY symbols land together with at least one WILD, every MONEY value on screen is collected and paid in a single sum. Because the collecting WILD then triggers its own respin sequence, a dense screen of MONEY symbols can pay out several times over as the WILD walks.

Respins also carry a multiplier. Every time a WILD on screen shifts a reel to the left, the multiplier climbs by 1x, and the current figure applies to all wins after each respin. A WILD that walks the width of the screen on its own builds the multiplier step by step. Several WILDs walking at once build it faster.

Paytable

Symbol pays, as multiples of the line bet:

• Pot of Gold – 2x for three, 6x for four, 20x for five
• Red Coins – 1x for three, 4x for four, 8x for five
• Frog – 1x for three, 3x for four, 6x for five
• Scroll – 0.8x for three, 2x for four, 4x for five
• A – 0.6x for three, 1x for four, 3x for five
• K – 0.6x for three, 0.8x for four, 3x for five
• Q / J – 0.4x for three, 0.6x for four, 2x for five
• 10 – 0.2x for three, 0.4x for four, 1x for five

The Pot of Gold tops the ladder at 20x the line bet for five, so line wins alone are modest. Five of the eight symbols are royals, and the jump from the Scroll down to the A marks where the premium symbols end.

Ante Bet

There are two bet multiplier settings:

• 10x – normal play, Buy Free Spins available
• 15x – double the chance of triggering Free Spins, more BONUS symbols on the reels, Buy Free Spins disabled

At 15x every spin costs half as much again, in exchange for a better shot at the feature. It’s a meaningful choice rather than a coin flip, and it’s the only setting where the buy button disappears.

Greedy Fortune Pig Free Spins & Bonus

Hit three BONUS symbols and the Free Spins round begins, awarding 5, 6, 7 or 8 free spins at random. Special reels are in play during the feature, and it can’t be retriggered, so the spins you start with are the spins you get.

WILDs behave as they do in the base game: they expand on landing, walk left through the respins and collect MONEY symbols along the way. The difference is the multiplier. It starts from 1x and increases in place for the whole round rather than resetting, which is where a good free spins run gets its weight.

A WILD arriving early can keep building through spin after spin. With no retrigger available, the round’s length is fixed at the outset, and the shorter awards of five or six spins leave less room for the multiplier to climb. The random spin count is doing real work here: the gap between a five-spin round and an eight-spin one is considerable.

Buy Free Spins

The feature can be bought instantly from the base game for 100x the current total bet. At the minimum stake that’s a 10.00 outlay for an award of between five and eight spins. It’s only available while the bet multiplier sits at 10x, since the Ante Bet option disables the purchase.

Our Honest Verdict

Overall Rating: 7.1/10

Greedy Fortune Pig commits to one idea. The expanding, left-walking WILD drives the respins, feeds the multiplier and collects the MONEY symbols, so a single lucky reel can become a long chain of escalating pays. When several WILDs land close together and the multiplier stacks through consecutive respins, the game is at its best, with GRAND at 100x the total bet waiting at the top of the chain.

The weakness is everything around that engine. The paytable is thin, and line wins won’t carry a session. The free spins round can’t retrigger, so a five-spin award can be over almost as soon as it starts, and the 100x buy price is steep against at most eight spins. The maximum win is 8,888x the bet.

It suits players who enjoy watching a mechanic compound, and medium volatility keeps sessions steadier than the walking-WILD chaos suggests. Anyone chasing the biggest numbers in Pragmatic Play’s catalogue has richer options, but as a fortune-theme slot with an involving core and a jackpot ladder built in, this pig holds its weight.
