Hot to Burn Multiplier Slot Review
Hot to Burn Multiplier is proof that a fruit slot doesn’t need a bonus round to earn a session – one well-placed multiplier does more for this format than a dozen free spins variants would. Cold blue smoke curls up the left edge of the screen, red fire-lit haze swallows the right, and the reels sit in flat black between them, under a chrome-and-flame badge with feathered wings, a burning red 7 and a gold star on top.
That frozen-and-burning split is the whole design in one image. Pragmatic Play has taken the most familiar fruit cabinet in the business and wired one live idea into it: symbols that catch fire and multiply whatever they touch. It’s a 5×3 grid, five paylines, 96.51% RTP, medium volatility, stakes from 0.10 to 250.00. Think of it as a tighter cousin to Hot to Burn – 7 Deadly Free Spins than to the studio’s louder machines.
Base Game & Features
Five reels, three rows, five paylines. That’s the entire format, and it’s the format the fruit-machine canon has run on for decades. Wins pay left to right on adjacent reels, and only the highest combination per line counts. Nothing here cascades, collects or expands.
The symbol set is the classic fruit-shop roll call, topped by a single premium. There’s no wild anywhere in this game – every win is a straight paytable hit, unadorned. The ladder is short and steep:
- 7 – 10x for three, 100x for four, 600x for five
- Watermelon – 5x for three, 20x for four, 50x for five
- Strawberry – 5x for three, 20x for four, 50x for five
- Plum – 2x for three, 5x for four, 20x for five
- Orange – 2x for three, 5x for four, 20x for five
- Lemon – 2x for three, 5x for four, 20x for five
- Cherry – 1x for two, 2x for three, 5x for four, 20x for five
Those multiples climb in a hurry: five 7s returns 600x the bet, while a full line of watermelon or strawberry pays 50x. The three mid-tier fruits all share one set of values, so a plum line is worth exactly what an orange or lemon line is worth.
Cherry is the only symbol that pays for a pair, which gives the bottom of the ladder a small pulse between the bigger hits. The top is where the money lives: five 7s at 600x is the prize this whole cabinet is built around, and on a five-line game that’s a steep little peak. The mid-tier fruit pays are thin by design – they’re connective tissue, not destinations.
What separates this from every other five-liner on the floor sits on top of that ladder rather than beside it. Three modifiers run through the base game, and each one is simple enough to state in a line:
- Flaming Symbols Multiplier – random symbols land engulfed in flames; each flaming symbol in a winning combination adds 1x to the win
- Ante Bet – raises the stake to 15x bet per line and increases the chance of flaming symbols
- Scatter – the star pays on any position, paylines irrelevant
Hot to Burn Multiplier Bonus Features
The Flaming Symbols Multiplier
This is the game’s one idea, and it’s the reason the cabinet exists. Random symbols can arrive on fire. When a winning combination forms, the win is multiplied by 1x for each flaming symbol within that combination.
The maths compounds fast. A line of five with two symbols alight pays three times its base value; a premium line stacked with flames can turn a routine hit into the biggest thing the paytable offers. Nothing signals the flames in advance, which is the point: every spin carries a small chance the reels catch.
Because the multiplier rides on winning combinations rather than replacing them, it never changes what the game pays – it changes how much. A flaming cherry pair is still a cherry pair; a flaming five-of-a-kind 7 line is a different afternoon entirely.
The Ante Bet
The ante bet is a toggle, not a feature round. Switch it on and your stake rises to 15x bet per line, and in exchange the odds of symbols arriving engulfed in flames improve.
That’s the whole exchange, and it’s worth reading twice. The ante bet doesn’t add symbols, paylines or rounds – it buys frequency. Every flaming symbol is one more 1x on a winning line, so more fire means the multiplier applies more often and stacks deeper when it does.
It’s the one real decision this format asks you to make. On a medium-volatility five-liner, the ante bet is the closest thing here to a difficulty setting: pay more per spin, see more fire, and let the multiplier do the rest.
The Scatter
The star scatter ignores paylines entirely and pays wherever it lands. Its awards, as multiples of the bet, step up like this:
- 5 scatters – 50x
- 4 scatters – 10x
- 3 scatters – 2x
Because it doesn’t need a line, the scatter is the one symbol whose arrival matters even when the reels around it are cold. It’s the game’s only escape hatch from the five paylines, and three of them anywhere will at least pay for the privilege. Five of them is worth as much as a full premium fruit line.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7/10
Playing this is mostly watching five lines and waiting for something to catch, and the reason to choose it is exactly that: the flames arrive unannounced, and a burning premium line pays like nothing else on the board. It’s a quiet game that occasionally goes loud, and the blue-and-red split behind the reels keeps even the quiet stretches easy to sit in.
The best thing here is the ante bet, because it’s a genuine decision in a format that usually offers none – pay more per spin for more fire, and the multiplier earns its name. The worst is the mid-tier fruit, which pays so little that most winning lines barely register.
This one is for players who like a lean machine and a single sharp idea, warm rather than spectacular. Anyone after sprawling feature rounds will find it thin, and fair enough. But between the smoke and the flames, it keeps its promise.
