House Of The Dragon Slot Review
The Dance of the Dragons is the stretch of Targaryen history where the family stopped burning everyone else and started burning each other, and it’s the ugliest, most expensive-looking corner of the whole Westeros catalogue. Black and gold, sibling against sibling, dragons falling out of the sky. That’s the register this one goes for, right down to Syrax circling at the side of the reels. House Of The Dragon runs on a 5×3 grid with 20 paylines, a 94% headline RTP (operators can also run it at 93%, 92% or 90%), Medium volatility and stakes from 0.10 up to 50 a spin. The ceiling is 3,000x.
Underneath the HBO artwork sits something very familiar to anyone who’s played Blueprint Gaming before. Cash Prize symbols land values, Collect symbols bank them, and everything else exists to make one of those two things happen more often. It’s the contract Fishin’ Frenzy Big Catch has been running for years, dressed up in Valyrian steel, with the same taste for stacking modifiers that Ted and the studio’s other big licences have.
So the question worth asking is whether the licence actually does anything, or whether this is a Blueprint cash-collect game wearing someone else’s clothes. The honest answer sits somewhere in the middle. The Collect structure is standard issue, but five dragon-themed Pots and a set of Syrax modifiers push the theme into the mechanics rather than leaving it on the symbols, which is more than can be said for a lot of licensed slots. It’s denser than The Goonies Return, and that’s saying something. Fire and blood, or just more of the same?
Base Game & Features
The paying symbols split into two separate economies. There are ordinary line-pay symbols built from character artwork, and then there’s the Scatter set: Cash Prize, Collect, Bonus and Dragon’s Wheel. Nearly all the interesting money lives in the second group. Line wins arrive often enough at a stated hit frequency of around one in five, but they’re rarely what you’re watching for.

Wild Symbols
Wilds appear on reels two, three and four only, and they substitute for everything except the Collect, Bonus and Cash Prize Scatter symbols. That exclusion does more work than it looks like it does: a Wild can finish off a line win, but it can’t stand in for any of the symbols that drive the collect side of the game.

The Collect Feature
The Collect Feature fires whenever a Collect Scatter lands in view alongside one or more Cash Prize Scatters. The Collect symbol expands to fill the whole of reel one and/or reel five, then sweeps up the values sitting on every Cash Prize Scatter on screen. Land two Collect Scatters and both of them do the collecting, so the same Cash Prize values get picked up twice. It’s the identical basic idea to Fishin’ Frenzy Big Catch, land the numbers and then land the thing that banks them, with a great deal more machinery bolted on top.

Dragon’s Lock
With the Dragon’s Lock enhancement active, triggering the Collect Feature starts a respin sequence rather than paying out straight away. The Blue Collect Scatter expands across its reel, every Cash Prize, Collect and Bonus Scatter in view locks into position, and the remaining spots respin. Anything new that lands in those categories locks as well, and the reels keep going until a respin adds nothing. Only then does the Collect symbol sweep everything in view.
Syrax Strike Modifiers
On any spin, in the main game or during the bonus, a coin can land on top of any symbol other than the Bonus Scatter. If it then strikes Syrax at the side of the reels, one of four modifiers fires.
- Bonus Boost: adds Bonus Scatter symbols for guaranteed Dance of the Dragons Spins.
- Syrax’s Fury: adds Cash Prize and Collect Scatter symbols for a guaranteed collect win.
- Wild Fire: adds Wild symbols to reels two, three and four for a guaranteed line win.
- Syrax’s Breath: after a no-win spin, every symbol is cleared away and new ones cascade in for a guaranteed line and/or collect win.

Express Bet
Express Bet can be switched on during the main game at an extra cost of 0.2x the base stake, and it raises the chance of triggering Dance of the Dragons Spins. There’s no bonus buy, so this is the only paid route toward the feature. Availability depends on operator configuration and local requirements.
Bonus Features & Free Spins
Dance of the Dragons Spins is the headline round, and Bonus Scatter symbols get you there. Three or more guarantees it. One or two aren’t automatically dead, though, because smaller counts can still trigger the round at random, which is worth knowing before you write off what looks like a near miss.
The round awards 10 spins with up to five enhancements active. The reels strip right back for the duration, so only Cash Prize, Bonus and Collect Scatter symbols appear alongside blanks. The line-pay symbols sit it out entirely and everything runs through the collect economy. Triggering any Pots during the round adds five more spins, and the spins run until they’re used up, at which point the accumulated winnings are paid.
The Pots
Bonus Scatters landing in the main game are collected into the Pot above whichever reel they landed on, and any number of Pots can also trigger at random on a given spin. There are five of them: Dragon’s Chest, Dragon’s Fire, Fire and Blood, Dragon’s Boost and Dragon’s Lock. Each awards Dance of the Dragons Spins with its matching enhancement switched on, so the shape of the round changes depending on which Pots got there.
Fire and Blood & Dragon’s Boost
Two of those enhancements work directly on Cash Prize values. Fire and Blood applies a random multiplier of x2 to x10 to every Cash Prize Scatter in view when the Collect Feature fires during the spins. Dragon’s Boost boosts all Cash Prize Scatters in view by up to x5. Both leave the Dragon’s Chest Scatter alone, and if the pair are running together, Fire and Blood resolves first.
Dragon’s Wheel & The Super Bonus
The Dragon’s Wheel triggers when its Scatter lands alongside a Collect Scatter, dropping a mini reel over the main game. In the base game it awards Cash Prize Scatters worth 5x to 100x plus a route to the Super Bonus; during Dance of the Dragons Spins that range widens to 5x to 150x. Dragon Emblems on the mini reel move you up a progress bar, and reaching the top prize in the main game awards the Super Bonus: 10 Dance of the Dragons Spins with every Pot triggered, which is the only way to see all five enhancements working at once.

Our Honest Verdict
The base game sits in a manageable middle gear. Medium volatility and a hit rate around one in five feels believable in play, and while the quiet patches are real, there’s usually a Syrax coin or a stray Collect along soon enough to stop them dragging.
The bonus is where it earns its keep. Dance of the Dragons Spins start ordinary and sharpen the moment an enhancement lands, and Dragon’s Lock is the standout: a Cash Prize symbol arriving just as the respins look finished gives the final Collect real weight. Dragon’s Wheel does something similar, that progress bar making every Emblem matter. Wild Fire is the weak link, a guaranteed line win in a game where the money is plainly elsewhere.
And there’s the tension. There’s an enormous amount going on here for a ceiling of just 3,000x, which is conservative next to most new releases. If you like licensed slots with busy, interlocking collect features, this delivers; if you judge a slot on its top number, keep walking. Fire and blood, at a fairly controlled burn.
