Jelly Express Slot Review
Hop aboard the train to mouth-watering sweet treats in Jelly Express, courtesy of Pragmatic Play!
Jelly Express is the latest sugar-coated release from Pragmatic Play, diving headfirst into a vibrant world packed with colourful candies and irresistible treats. It might spell trouble for every Dentist, but the lure of 5,000x your bet in wins & anticipating gameplay is simply too tempting to ignore.
As the express departs for a journey of pure indulgence, players will encounter Multiplier Wilds that can dramatically boost payouts, along with a Free Spins mode that puts you firmly in the Conductor’s seat, taking charge of your own destiny…
Base Game & Features
Jelly Express is a low volatility 6-reel, 5-row video slot with a Pay Anywhere mechanic. Wins occur when a minimum of 8 identical symbols land anywhere across the grid, regardless of their position.
The Bear Conductor is the highest-paying symbol, followed by the 3 Gingerbread and 5 Gummy Sweet symbols. After a spin is complete, each winning combination awards a fixed payout between 0.25x and 50x your bet.
Once a winning combination is confirmed, the Avalanche Feature removes them, allowing new symbols to fall in from above, allowing consecutive wins to occur in the same spin. The Avalanche event ends when no further wins occur in the same spin.
Multiplier Wilds
Throughout gameplay, each Wild symbol that is part of a winning combination reveals a random Multiplier between 1x and 100x your bet, which applies to all winning payouts for that spin. Multipliers are not always guaranteed and are revealed by the Train above the main reel set.
Jelly Express: Free Spins
Landing 3 Coin Scatters anywhere in the base game triggers the Free Spins mode, where 6 Options become available:
- Teal Train: Awards 25 Free Spins + Multiplier Wilds of 2x, 3x, 5x, or 10x your bet
- Red Train: Awards 20 Free Spins + Multiplier Wilds of 3x, 5x, 10x, or 15x your bet
- Gold Train: Awards 15 Free Spins + Multiplier Wilds of 5x, 10x, 15x, or 25x your bet
- Blue Train: Awards 10 Free Spins + Multiplier Wilds of 10x, 15x, 25x, or 30x your bet
- Green Train: Awards 5 Free Spins + Multiplier Wilds of 15x, 25x, 50x, or 100x your bet
- Pink Train (Mystery): Awards 5-25 Free Spins + Multiplier Wilds between 2x and 100x your bet
During this mode, whenever 1 or more Scatters appear, there’s a chance to trigger the Super Free Spins mode.
Super Free Spins
Once the Super Free Spins mode is triggered, an additional +5 Free Spins is awarded. In this mode, each Wild symbol that is part of a winning combination will have its Multiplier added to the Global Multiplier, which applies to all subsequent wins involving at least 1 Wild symbol.
Ante Bet & Bonus Buy
Players may purchase any of the following Ante Bet & Bonus Buy options:
- Ante Bet: Increases your chance of triggering the Free Spins mode by 8 times for 5x your bet per spin
- Super Spin 1: Guarantees a Wild symbol on every spin for 20x your bet
- Super Spin 2: Awards a minimum Multiplier Wild of 10x your bet on every spin for 250x your bet
- Free Spins: Instant access to the Free Spins mode with 3+ Coin Scatters for 100x your bet
- Super Free Spins: Direct entry into the Super Free Spins mode, where Multipliers are added to the Global Multiplier, for 500x your bet
Jelly Express has a maximum win capacity of 5,000x your bet. If a single session exceeds this, the player returns to the base game with the qualifying amount.
Our Honest Verdict
Jelly Express is one of Pragmatic’s premier releases, a release believed to be a triple-A title. Their candy/colourful slots usually are. Fruit Party, Sweet Bonanza, Sugar Rush, and all other cavity-causing favourites in the catalogue stand out as immortal sweet treats, and recent new additions like Sugar Rush Super Scatter and Sweet Craze reaffirm their affinity for sweetness.
We think Jelly Express has the potential to be one of Pragmatic’s top performers, its lacklustre 5,000x max win aside. This being higher could have pushed it up the rankings exponentially, but there is still a lot to be said in its favour.
It keeps things simple with Wild Multipliers like the ones seen in many of their existing titles. The base game allows for multipliers of up to x100, which may result in sizable wins if luck is on your side.
Of course, its Free Spins mode is where the bulk of the action is. This features a choice which may feel familiar to those with a fondness for Megaways slots. More free spins and lower multipliers, or fewer free spins and higher multipliers. The two extremes make the game feel very different, and there’s a mystery choice if you’re feeling particularly ballsey.
To top it all off, it’s got a Super Free spins mode, which adds awarded multipliers to the total multiplier. The Super Free spins mode sufficiently ups the excitement, as it should.
Special buys are also a nice option, but an option that might be unavailable to many regions. This offers an ante bet with a heightened chance of triggering free spins, and Super Spins with guaranteed multipliers.
All in all, it’s not an overly inventive release, but it speaks to what the people want. The potential for sweet success and a game with familiar features wrapped up in a delicious aesthetic.
