Jungle Quest Slot Review
The jungle in Jungle Quest: Morph and Win has already been conquered by somebody else. Whoever raised the stone temple crumbling away at the back of the clearing left a long time ago, and the place has gone quiet since.
Sunlight drops through the canopy onto gemstones in the undergrowth, and four animal guardians have the run of it. Quite how a tiger ended up in Aztec-style ruins is between Elysium Studios and their art department.
Elysium build it, Swintt put it out, and the maths is unfussy. It’s a 6×9 grid paying clusters of five or more, at 94.06% RTP with medium volatility and a hit rate around 25%.
Stakes run from 0.10 to 40 and the ceiling is 5,000x. That RTP sits a fair way under the industry norm, which is the sort of thing you want to know before you sit down.
Hold-and-win is well-trodden ground here, to the point that Odyssey Hold and Win puts the mechanic in its own title.
So does this one bring anything new to the clearing?
Base Game & Features
You don’t get the full 6×9 grid to begin with. A good portion of it starts sealed behind blocker cells, and opening those up is the job that runs underneath every spin.
Popping Clusters and the Unlockable Grid
Wins come from clusters rather than lines. Land five or more matching symbols touching each other and they pop, paying out and clearing space in the process.
That clearing does double duty. Anything popping next to a locked cell opens it, so the playable area widens as the round goes on and fresh symbols drop into ground that was sealed a moment earlier.
Expanding Wilds
Wilds stretch across the grid when they land, filling gaps between symbols that wouldn’t otherwise be touching. In a cluster game that’s a direct route to wins that weren’t there on the drop.
They’re a base game symbol only. The bonus round runs on values and arrows instead, so wilds sit the whole thing out once you’ve triggered it.
Reaching the Corners
The four bonuses sit in the outer corners of the grid, behind the locked cells. Popping your way out far enough to reach a corner is what activates the animal waiting in it.
Reach more than one and they stack, which is where the 15 bonus combinations come from. There’s also a bet boost option that raises your odds of getting there without buying in outright.
Jungle Quest Bonus Features
The bonus is a hold-and-win round built on value symbols and arrows, with whichever animals you unlocked bolted onto it. Each brings one modifier, and they run together rather than taking turns.
The Four Animal Bonuses
- Snake Bonus: every bonus spin has a guaranteed arrow landing, which unlocks blocker symbols and pushes you towards the jackpots.
- Parrot Bonus: the round begins on a larger grid, giving instant prize symbols more room to land.
- Tiger Bonus: collector symbols can land and take the values of every other multiplier symbol on the grid.
- Monkey Bonus: a 2×3 multiplier frame sits in the centre of the grid and doubles the value of anything landing inside it.
Jackpots and the Full Grid
Mini, Minor, Major and Grand jackpots are placed in the corners of the grid, worth up to 100x at the top end. Unlocking a corner cell claims the jackpot sitting in it.
Fill the grid completely and the total bonus win doubles. That’s the route to the 5,000x ceiling, and it needs the arrows to keep coming right to the last sealed cell.
Bonus Buy
You can buy in rather than pop your way to the corners. Two options are offered: a super buy, and a mystery buy that leaves the animal combination you land on up to chance.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 6/10
The base game keeps you occupied without handing you much. Breaking blockers to widen the grid means you’re always aiming at something, and the wilds turn up often enough to matter. Past those, nothing’s pushing you along.
The bonus opens it up. All four animals firing at once plays differently to any of them alone, and the monkey’s multiplier frame is the one round you always know you’re in. The parrot’s bigger grid is the weakest of the four.
Mini and minor jackpots dropped regularly in our rounds, but at 100x the top prize they’re loose change rather than a moment. Whichever combination you trigger, the round underneath stays the same shape, and it does blur.
Cluster and hold-and-win regulars who enjoy watching a grid grow will get their money’s worth out of 15 combinations. Anyone after a serious ceiling or more depth than pop-and-unlock should walk on by.
The quest is an easy walk and the morphing does exactly what it says. There’s just nothing at the end of it you haven’t dug up somewhere else.
