Base Game & Features
Kraken’s Cove is a highly volatile 7-reel, 7-row Video Slot with a Cluster Pays mechanic and varying bet sizes. Other noteworthy statistics include an overall RTP of 96.10% and a generous max win cap of 10,000x your bet.
The game’s High and Low-paying symbols consist of Hearts, Spades, Diamonds, Clubs, and a variety of Pirate Icons. Wins are determined when 5 or more matching symbols land horizontally and vertically adjacent to one another, awarding payouts between 0.1x and 500x your bet.
Winning clusters are removed and replaced with new symbols from above, via a Cascade Feature. This enables players to accumulate additional wins in a single spin.
Ship Wild
In the base game, there are 2 types of Wild symbols – regular Wilds and special Ship Wilds which substitute for all paytable symbols. When a ship wild is present and a winning cluster occurs, it will move one position closer to the centre Hot Spot.
Once the ship wild reaches the Hot Spot, it will expand between 2×2 and 5×5, depending on the state of the Wild Expansion Collection. After expansion, a win is created and the ship wild is removed and assigned to a new position.
The Ship Wild can reach the Hot Spot multiple times in a single spin, increasing its size and retaining its current Multiplier value. Each time it is involved in a winning cluster, its Multiplier will increase by +x1.
Ship Wild Expansion Collection
Special Coin symbols are awarded when a Treasure Chest Wild appears on the reels. Treasure Chests contain 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 Coins each. When 5 Coins have been collected, the size of the Ship Wild will increase when it reaches the Hot Spot.

Landing 3 Scatter symbols anywhere on the grid triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 5 Free Spins.
Once active, you’re taken to a special Gamble Feature, where 2 Wheels become available. The Blue gamble wheel allows you to gamble for additional Free Spins, whilst the Red gamble wheel can improve your current Multiplier.
In Free Spins, Ship Wild expansion and Multiplier functions are persistent until the end of the feature. In addition, any Treasure Chest Wild progression is also persistent.

Our Verdict
Who knew Pirates could be so charming? Relax Gaming has captured the pirate theme with absolute precision in Kraken’s Cove. It’s a delightful slot with high-quality graphics and an appealing design, paired with a Cluster Pays mechanic and innovative features.
In the base game, you’re instantly engaged in multiple features, particularly the Ship Wild symbol. Each spin positions a ship wild onto the grid, some closer to the Hot Spot than others. As it progresses towards the Hot Spot, its Multiplier is boosted by +x1 each time it forms part of a win.
Another symbol to be on the lookout for is Treasure Chests, which reveal up to 5 Coins that boost the size of the Ship Wild when it finally reaches the Hot Spot. Thanks to the multiple Wild symbols and cluster pays mechanic, it’s not overly difficult to achieve wins, but it can be a challenge to get the Ship Wild where it needs to be. The aim is to land the Ship Wild as close to the Hot Spot as possible to see its expanded state in action.
The Free Spins round follows the same routine as the base game, only this time, the expansion size, coin collection, and multiplier value remain persistent between spins. However, before you head into Free Spins, you’re given the option to gamble your current Free Spins and Ship Wild Multiplier. It’s a risky move, especially if a gamble results in a loss and ends the entire round before it even begins.
There are so many positives to Kraken’s Cove, that we could go on and on, but to sum it up, Kraken’s Cove is by far the best 2025 release we’ve come across yet, and one that certainly deserves much recognition.
