Base Game & Features

Le Bunny is a medium volatility (3/5) video slot with 6 reels, 5 rows, and a Cluster Pays mechanic. Winning clusters are obtained when 5-12 matching symbols land horizontally or vertically adjacent on the grid.

The Pink Rabbit is the highest-paying symbol, followed by the Chick, Rooster, Egg-Pop, Flowers, and A, K, Q, J, & 10 royals. Each winning connection in a spin awards a fixed payout between 0.1x and 25x your bet. Furthermore, Wild symbols substitute for all symbols according to the paytable.

Lastly, the Avalanche Feature guarantees the removal of winning clusters, allowing new symbols to drop in from above & fill all remaining empty positions. Not only does the Avalanche Feature remove winning symbols, but it also destroys all instances of the winning type from the reels, known as a Super Cascade.

Golden Squares

Each winning cluster that occurs in the base game or Free Spins mode leaves behind a series of Golden Squares. If a Rainbow symbol is present on the same spin, it will activate all Golden Squares in view, revealing one of the following outcomes:

• Bronze, Silver, Gold Coins: Reveal values between 0.2x and 500x your bet
• Basket: Collects the values of all Coin & other Basket symbols, storing their total combined amount
• Green Clover: Multiplies all available Coins & Basket symbols on adjacent squares by x2, x3, x4, x5, x10, or x20

• Jackpot Egg: Reveals a random Cash Prize of Mini (10x), Major (100x), Mega (1,000x), or Max Win (20,000x)

Jackpot Eggs that land during a spin will be activated if they land in the same spin as a Rainbow symbol. Once a Jackpot Egg is revealed within a Golden Square, its corresponding value is awarded after all Coin & Basket values are paid out.

Le Bunny: Free Spins

Triggering the Spell of Luck Bonus requires 3 FS Scatter to land in the base game, awarding 10 Free Spins. This mode follows the same base game mechanics, where all Golden Squares are progressive until a Rainbow symbol activates them.

Landing 2 or 3 FS Scatters awards an additional +2 and +4 Free Spins, respectively.

Swiping the Sweets

Alternatively, landing 4 FS Scatters in the same spin triggers the Swiping the Sweets Bonus, awarding 10 Free Spins. Again, this mode continues the same mechanics from the Spell of Luck Bonus.

In addition, all Golden Squares stick to the grid until the end of the feature, even after being activated by a Rainbow symbol. Finally, landing 2 or 3 FS Scatters awards a further +2 and +4 Free Spins, respectively.

Rainbow Riches

The final mode, Rainbow Riches, is classified as a hidden bonus, triggered when 5 FS Scatters land in the same spin, awarding 10 Free Spins. Once again, this mode keeps the same mechanics of the Swiping the Sweets Bonus, only each spin guarantees 1 Rainbow symbol on the reels.

Additionally, all Coins from Golden Squares will be Silver or Gold. Landing 2 or 3 FS Scatters in the same spin awards an additional +2 and +4 Free Spins, respectively.

Our Honest Verdict

Smokey’s arrival in Le Bandit certainly caught our attention, quickly establishing itself as one of Hacksaw Gaming’s most engaging concepts, which carried over into later titles like Le Pharaoh and Le Fisherman.

One of the franchise’s most defining attributes has always been Hacksaw Gaming’s ability to tailor each release to its theme, both visually and mechanically. However, in more recent entries, these have started to feel increasingly familiar, with changes coming from the thematics rather than gameplay evolution.

Having spun the reels of Le Bunny ourselves, we noticed a striking resemblance to an earlier ‘Le’ release, Le King, which pays particular attention to Jackpots. While Le King steered the series into a fresh & promising direction, Le Santa also focused on Jackpot-driven gameplay ahead of the new year.

What remains clear is that Golden Squares continue to stand out as the defining feature of the series, alongside multiple Free Spins modes, which each offer progressive potential & volatility, but it doesn’t come with any new bells or whistles, unfortunately.
