Le Granny Slot Review
Irish folklore keeps its treasure in the worst possible place: at the end of a rainbow, unguarded, and only ever there on somebody else’s say-so. Le Granny sends Smokey Le Bandit out to collect it anyway.
The presentation is Hacksaw Gaming at their most cheerfully daft, with rainbows, clovers, coins and pots of gold spread across a 6×5 cluster pays grid.
Volatility is medium, stakes run from 0.10 to 100 a spin, and the maximum win is 10,000x your stake. RTP sits at 94.23%, which is low by Hacksaw’s usual standards.
Smokey puts this squarely in the Le Bandit corner of the catalogue, and that 10,000x ceiling clears the 3,000x and 5,000x caps plenty of recent releases settle for.
Anyone who’s spent time with Le Prechaun or Le Fisherman will know the house style on sight. What separates Le Granny is what its wins leave behind on the board.
Base Game & Features
Le Granny runs on a 6×5 grid with Cluster Pays, so wins are formed by groups of matching symbols touching each other rather than by lines running across the reels.
Two mechanics do the work here, and they’re wired together. Super Cascade clears the grid after a win, and Win to Win turns the space that win occupied into something that can pay later.

Super Cascade
Any winning combination triggers Super Cascade. Every regular paying symbol of the winning type is removed from the grid, not only the ones that formed the cluster, and new symbols drop in to fill the empty spaces.
Because the clear takes every instance of that symbol rather than the cluster alone, a single win can strip out a large section of the grid and roll straight into further wins as the replacements land.
Win to Win
The squares sitting behind a winning cluster are highlighted as Marked Squares. On their own they do nothing. A Rainbow symbol has to land on the grid to activate them.
When a Rainbow arrives, every Marked Square reveals one of five things:
- Bronze, Silver or Gold Coins, each carrying a cash value
- Pot of Gold symbols, which collect values from the grid
- Four-Leaf Clover symbols, which multiply what sits next to them
Four-Leaf Clovers multiply the Coins and Pot of Gold symbols adjacent to them by 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x or 10x. Pot of Gold symbols collect the value of every Coin on the grid, and of any other Pot.
The Pot chain is the part worth understanding properly. Once all the current Pots have collected and paid out, any Marked Squares still left on the board can reveal again.
Those fresh reveals can produce another Pot, which collects again and opens the remaining squares once more. The loop keeps running for as long as a new Pot keeps appearing, and stops when one doesn’t.
All Coin and Pot of Gold values are paid as a multiple of your bet at the end of the spin. In the base game, the Rainbow has to arrive while the marks are still on the board.
Wild Symbols
The Wild substitutes for every symbol in the paytable. With wins built from clusters rather than lines, a Wild dropping into the middle of a group that’s one short is what turns it into a payout, and into Marked Squares.

Le Granny Free Spins
Free spins come from FS scatter symbols landing at the same time in the base game. The number that land decides which of three bonus modes you get, so every extra scatter changes the prize rather than just confirming it.
- Three FS symbols: Luck of the Bandit, eight free spins
- Four FS symbols: All That Glitters Is Gold, 12 free spins
- Five FS symbols: Treasure at the End of the Rainbow, 12 free spins
Landing two more FS symbols inside a bonus awards two extra free spins, and three awards four. Four FS symbols during Luck of the Bandit upgrade the round to All That Glitters Is Gold and add four spins on top.

Luck of the Bandit
Eight free spins, with one change that reshapes the whole round: Marked Squares stay highlighted between spins until a Rainbow activates them.
Marks build up across several spins rather than disappearing with the next drop, so a Rainbow landing late in the round is working on everything the earlier spins left behind.

All That Glitters Is Gold
Twelve free spins, and Marked Squares stay highlighted for the entire bonus, including after a Rainbow has already activated them. Nothing is spent, and nothing is cleared away.
The board grows steadily more loaded as the round runs on, which means a Rainbow landing on spin 10 has considerably more to work with than one landing on spin two.

Treasure at the End of the Rainbow
Twelve free spins from five FS symbols. Marked Squares stay highlighted throughout, a Rainbow is guaranteed to land on every single spin, and Bronze Coins are taken out of the reveals altogether.
Bonus Buy & FeatureSpins
The BUY BONUS button opens four purchase options, each running its own RTP. The lower two are direct purchases of the free spins mode named.
- BonusHunt FeatureSpins: 3x stake, RTP 94.38%
- Rainbow FeatureSpins: 50x stake, RTP 94.38%
- Luck of the Bandit: 100x stake, RTP 94.15%
- All That Glitters Is Gold: 250x stake, RTP 94.24%
Hitting the 10,000x ceiling ends the round on the spot and pays the maximum, whichever mode you happen to be in when it lands.

Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7/10
The base game is easy enough to sit through. Cascades keep things moving when the returns are ordinary, and because even small clusters leave marks behind, the quiet stretches hold a little tension.
The frustration is real, mind. A board can sit there loaded with marks and the Rainbow simply won’t turn up.
Luck of the Bandit was the better value of the two modes we saw, and the flatter one. One round built a lovely spread of marks, then paid almost nothing when the Rainbow finally landed.
All That Glitters Is Gold was the highlight. A Clover boosting the values beside it, a Pot hoovering up the Coins, more squares opening behind them. Nowhere near 10,000x, and still the best thirty seconds we had with it.
It’s one for cluster and cascade players who like their wins to count for something later. Anyone who resents paying a premium to see a bonus should steer clear.
The pot of gold is real enough. It’s the rainbow that keeps you waiting.
