Base Game & Features
Le King is a highly volatile 6-reel Video Slot that utilises the popular Cluster Pays mechanic instead of fixed pay lines. Wins occur when 5-12 matching symbols land horizontally or vertically adjacent on the grid.
Fixed payouts for the 10 high and low-paying symbols vary between 0.1x and 25x your bet. The 5 high-paying symbols include watermelon, dice, microphones, poker chips, and poker wheels.
Alternatively, the 5 low-paying symbols fall to A, K, Q, J, & 10 Card Suits. Furthermore, Wild symbols substitute for all symbols except FS Scatters. When a win is formed, all winning symbols are removed and replaced with new ones from above, via an Avalanche Feature.
Golden Squares
After a win evaluation, special Golden Squares are highlighted behind each winning symbol position. Please note that Golden Squares disappear with the next paid spin.
If a Rainbow Icon lands on the grid, it will activate all Golden Squares after wins have been paid out. Each golden square will reveal Bronze, Silver or Gold Coins, as well as Treasure Pots, Green/Gold Clovers, and Jackpot Markers.
Bronze, Silver, and Gold Coins will reveal the following prizes:
- Bronze: 0.2x, 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x your bet
- Silver: 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x your bet
- Gold: 25x, 50x, 100x, 250x, 500x your bet
Once all golden squares have been revealed, the Green & Gold Clovers will activate. Green Clovers will multiply all Coins and Treasure Pots on adjacent squares with a random Multiplier between x2 and 20.
Alternatively, Gold Clovers will multiply all existing Coins and Treasure Pots across the entire grid with a random Multiplier between x2 and x20. After individual Clovers are active, Treasure Pot symbols will activate.
Treasure Pots collect the values of all Coin and Treasure Pots and store their total value. These symbols will activate from top to bottom, and left to right, but are unable to collect Jackpot Markers.
When the final Treasure Pot has been activated, all other Golden Squares will activate again to reveal new evaluations, repeating the process. Once complete, the total value is multiplied by your current bet to determine the final win.
Jackpot Markers
Special Jackpot Markers can land on the grid or be revealed through Golden Squares upon activation.
These symbols are responsible for triggering up to 4 Jackpot Prizes of Mini (10x), Major (100x), Mega (1,000x), and Max Win (20,000x). The current value of each Jackpot Marker is displayed outside the grid, on the Jackpot Sign.
Each Jackpot Marker that lands in a spin is only activated when it lands in sync with a Rainbow Icon. However, when a Rainbow Icon is revealed via a Golden Square, it is awarded once all Coin and Treasure Pot symbols are complete.
Please note that only 1 instance of each Jackpot can appear in the same spin, meaning all 4 Jackpot Markers can be won simultaneously.

Viva Le Bandit!
The hidden Free Spins mode, Viva Le Bandit, resumes the mechanics found in Jackpot of Gold. In addition, every spin guarantees 1 Rainbow Icon to hit.

Our Honest Verdict
With Le King marking the 4th instalment of the series, we can definitely say there’s nothing ‘merde‘ about it. Our favourite raccoon has become quite a celebrity in the eyes of Hacksaw Gaming fans, who have built up a reputation for more than just his extracurricular activities.
After paving the way through the streets of France in Le Bandit back in 2023, the series has taken us through the dry sands of Egypt in Le Pharaoh and across the rough Scandinavian sea in Le Viking.
This time, he’s hitting Sin City – Le King is a Las Vegas-themed slot with plenty of charm and a familiar feel if you’re attuned to the series so far. Le King takes the max win to the next level with a 20,000x cap, making it the most capable so far. This is achievable through its Jackpot feature, which is dangled in front of players like a golden carrot.
There’s little to analyse here if you are familiar with the series, it’s more or less the same from the Base Game to its Free Spins function. It’s uncomplicated, reliable, light-hearted and solid from Hacksaw Gaming once more.
Jackpots aren’t for everyone; they’re a little marmite, turning off some instantly while turning on others. Personal preference will always vary, but we think Hacksaw has the fundamentals down. It offers enough outside of the jackpot feature to make it attractive even if it were without it.
Is it a reinvention of the original? No – it wasn’t meant to be. It’s a complementary addition that offers a different perspective on a trusty favourite.
