Le Pharoah Slot Review

Everyone’s favourite sticky-fingered racoon has returned with some new tricks in Hacksaw Gaming’s latest release, Le Pharoah!

When Smokey’s not lingering in the back alleys of Paris, he’s pulling tricks on tourists at the Great Pyramid. Smokey got smoked, so now he’s taken on a new identity as Le Pharoah.

Since his first debut in Le Bandit, it was uncertain whether Smokey the Racoon would be a one-hit-wonder or the star of many titles, but it seems that Hacksaw Gaming has big plans for this cheeky chap.

Le Pharoah returns with Golden Squares and Rainbow symbols in Sticky Redrops and Golden Riches features. In true Hacksaw fashion, there are multiple Free Spins rounds up for grabs, only this time you get to choose between them!

Sticky Redrops

During gameplay, when a winning combination occurs, those symbols will stick to their positions, triggering a Redrop. Each sticky symbol will generate a Golden Square in its position.

During the Redrop, winning symbols extending or creating winning combinations will also stick, triggering another Redrop. This continues until no further extensions or additional winning combinations are created. At the end of Redrops, all wins will be paid out.

In addition, Rainbow symbols and Scatters that land during a Redrop will also remain in view, however, they do not generate Golden Squares. Sticky scatters, rainbow symbols, and golden squares are removed at the start of the next spin.

Golden Riches

If a Rainbow symbol is present at the end of Sticky Redrops, it will activate the Golden Riches feature.  Once active, it will transform all Golden Square positions and reveal Bronze, Silver, or Gold Coins. It may also reveal a special Pot of Gold, Green Clover, or Golden Clover.

  • Bronze Coins: Award values between 0.2x and 4x your bet
  • Silver Coins: Award values between 5x and 20x your bet
  • Gold Coins: Award values between 25x and 500x your bet

Once all Coin and Special symbols have been revealed, each Clover symbol present will activate. There are 2 types of Clover symbols available; Green and Gold.

  • Green Clover: Multiply Coins and Pots of Gold by x2, x3, x4, x5, x10, x20
  • Gold Clover: Multiply Coins and Pots of Gold by x2, x3, x4, x5, x10, x20

After the Clover symbols are complete, any Pot of Gold symbols that are present will activate. Pot of Gold symbols collect all Coins and other Pot of Gold symbols, storing their total combined value.

Once all values have been collected, all other Golden Squares will reactivate and reveal new symbols, starting the process again. Once all reveals and activations are complete, all Coins and Pot of Gold values will be added together and multiplied by your current bet.

Luck of the Pharoah

Choosing this round awards 10 Free Spins. During this round, the Sticky Redrops and Golden Riches mechanics are retained. Golden Squares remain highlighted until the end of the round, even after being activated by a Rainbow symbol.

Landing 2 or 3 FS Scatters will award an additional +2 and +4 Free Spins respectively.

Super Luck of the Pharoah

Lost Treasures

Choosing this round awards 3 Refilling Lives. New symbols in the form of Coins, Green Clovers, Pots of Gold, Gold Clovers, Dead symbols, and Stone Tablet symbols are present. Please note, that Dead symbols are non-paying and have no other effect.

Each spin in Lost Treasures consumes 1 Life. Whenever any non-dead symbols land, it refills all Lives to 3. After 3 consecutive spins without a refill, the round will end.

Each Coin and Pot of Gold symbol that hits will remain in view until they are collected by a Pot of Gold symbol, or at the end of the feature. Stone Tablet symbols also become sticky until the end of the round. There are 2 types of Stone Tablet symbols available:

  • Adding Stone Tablet: Adds a value between 1x and 500x to a random Coin on each spin.
  • Multiplying Stone Tablet: Multiplies a value between x2 and x20 to a random Coin on each spin.

If the grid is entirely filled with Coins, Pots of Gold, or Stone Tablet symbols, the bonus ends. At the end of Lost Treasures, all Coin and Pot of Gold symbols will be added together and multiplied by your current bet.

Super Lost Treasures

Upon choosing this option, you will be awarded an enhanced version of the original Lost Treasures bonus. This round guarantees an Adding Stone Tablet on the first spin, with an increased chance of landing higher-value Coins and Pot of Gold symbols.

During this round, all Golden Squares remain highlighted until the end, even after being activated by a Rainbow symbol. Furthermore, a Rainbow symbol is guaranteed to land with each spin.

Landing 2 or 3 FS Scatters will award an additional +2 and +4 Free Spins respectively.

Conclusion

Le Pharaoh expands on our French friend’s journey so far in Hacksaw’s latest Egyptian release, though he still looks quite French, despite the shoddy disguises.

Le Bandit left quite the impression on us – it was simple, yet strangely appealing. Perhaps our eyes just light up whenever they see coins, or perhaps Hacksaw just did another great job at making something fairly simple and tremendously effective once more. Le Pharoah looks very similar to the first, though they’re not as closely related as it might seem.

The rainbow feature still exists to bring about coins, though Hacksaw has added a sticky aspect to its execution, and the rainbow symbol has been improved to include both its original that hits adjacent symbols and another that affects all symbols.

The bonus round is where the differences really start to show. You’re given a choice in Le Pharoah, and the round that you won’t have recognised from Le Bandit is the Lost Treasures bonus mode. This still involves coins and clovers, but it shakes things up quite nicely if you fancy something different. With the potential for a persistent symbol, it can be hard not to prefer.

Of course, the Luck of the Pharaoh round still holds up very well, and its 15,000x win cap makes a strong case for it against Le Bandit if you were wondering whether to stick to your guns or try out Le Pharaoh.
