Links of Glory Slot Review
A coin slot that makes you earn the good version of its bonus round is rare, and Links of Glory from Slingshot Studios is built around exactly that. The respin feature isn’t a flat event here – it arrives in three increasingly loaded forms, and which one you get depends on how many coins the base game has already banked.
The argument here is the meter. Where most coin-collecting slots treat the hold-and-win round as a bolt-on, this one builds a whole progression system around reaching it in better and better shape, and that structure is what makes it more than a themed respin.
It runs on a 5×4 grid with 40 paylines at high volatility, with sister titles including Links of Ra, Leprechaun Links and Links of Flame King Millions. Every coin that lands moves you a step closer.
Base Game & Features
The base game is a five-reel, four-row setup with 40 fixed paylines, and wins pay left to right from the first reel. Only the highest combination counts on each line. Stakes run from 0.20 to 20.00 per spin.
The wild substitutes for everything except the Scatter, Coin and jackpot token symbols, and it can form its own winning combinations too. Simple, and it does its job.
Power Stacks
Power Stacks triggers on every spin, in the base game and in Free Spins. Symbols can be randomly Power Stacked and added to all reels at once. In the base game, anything except Scatters, Wilds and jackpot tokens can be stacked; in Free Spins it’s only Wilds and Coins.
Because stacked symbols are added to all reels simultaneously, a full stack of a premium symbol across the 5×4 grid is where the larger base game wins come from.
Paytable
Payouts are multiples of the initial bet, based on the current stake:
- Man in red robe: 1.2x / 2x / 8x for three, four, five
- Man with laurel wreath: 1x / 1.8x / 6x
- Woman: 0.9x / 1.6x / 4x
- Armoured man: 0.8x / 1.5x / 3x
- Tower / Colosseum building: 1.2x / 2.5x for four and five
- Red gem and gold diamond: 0.5x / 1x / 2x
- Yellow triangle and pink gem: 0.4x / 0.8x / 1.8x
- Roman Helmet character: 1x for three, 10x for four
HOT MODE
HOT MODE can trigger on any base game spin. A free Coin symbol is awarded and held by the Coin collect meter, and the number of coins needed to grow or trigger the ULTRA Link&Win meter drops by one.
With HOT MODE running, landing five or more Coins triggers ULTRA Link&Win outright, while three or four still feed the meter. The mode ends after a random number of spins, or when ULTRA Link&Win, the Collection Pot or Free Spins triggers, or if you buy the feature.
Links of Glory Bonus Features & Free Spins
ULTRA Link&Win
The main event needs six or more Coin symbols anywhere on the reels. You get three free respins, the triggering Coins hold in place, and every new Coin that lands also holds and resets the respins back to three. The round ends when the respins run out or every position fills.
Up to three additional rows can be activated during the feature, expanding the grid as it runs. Landing four or five Coins in the base game or Free Spins contributes to the ULTRA Link&Win meter, and when that meter fills to the relevant level, the next trigger arrives in one of three enhanced modes.
Max Mode starts with all three additional rows already active. Multiplier Mode does the same and guarantees a Persistent 2x Multiplier Booster Coin. Collect Mode opens with all rows plus a guaranteed Persistent Cash Collect Booster Coin, and triggering it empties the meter.
Booster Coins
Six Booster Coins can land during the feature, each with its own effect:
- Persistent Cash Collect Booster Coin: collects the sum of all Cash Collect Booster Coins and Cash Coins into a total cash value every spin, retriggering until the feature ends
- Cash Collect Booster Coin: collects the sum of any landed Persistent Cash Collect Booster Coin and Cash Coins for the current spin, up to three can land
- Persistent 2x Multiplier Booster Coin: randomly doubles up to four Cash Coins on every spin until the feature ends
- 2x Multiplier Booster Coin: randomly doubles up to four Cash Coins for the current spin, up to three can land
- Unlock Booster Coin: activates one additional row, up to three
- Extra Chance Booster Coin: awards one free respin, activating when respins reach zero
Only one of either Persistent Booster Coin can land in a round, and none of the multipliers or collects touch the GRAND, MAJOR, MINOR or MINI prizes. Those are protected.
Cash Coins and Prize Coins
Each Cash Coin shows a random value, multiplied by the total bet and paid at the end of the feature. The multiplier values allocated are 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x, 2x, 3x, 5x, 8x, 10x and 12x.
The four Prize Coins are the ladder: MINI at 15x, MINOR at 50x, MAJOR at 500x and GRAND at 5,000x. Each Prize Coin counts down once per spin, and any that complete their countdown before the round ends are awarded. Up to one of each can land in a single feature.
Collection Pot
In the base game, a jackpot token can land on reel five, and only one can appear per spin. Each token grows the Collection Pot and can randomly trigger the feature, which spins a wheel to award one of the same four prizes: MINI, MINOR, MAJOR or GRAND.
The Collection Pot resets on return to the base game once triggered. The token itself doesn’t pay anything.
Free Spins
Three, four or five Scatters anywhere on the reels award 10 Free Spins. Wild or Coin symbols are Power Stacked on every free spin, where the base game version of the modifier can stack any paying symbol instead.
Bets and lines match the triggering spin. There’s no retrigger, and the round plays out automatically. ULTRA Link&Win can trigger inside Free Spins, but the two can’t arrive together on the same spin.
Buy Feature
The star button in the top-right corner opens the Buy feature menu, which sells immediate access to the feature in four flavours:
- ULTRA Link&Win: 40x bet
- Max Mode: 80x bet
- Multiplier Mode: 110x bet
- Collect Mode: 165x bet
Costs update with your stake, and the purchases may be limited or unavailable above certain bet sizes or in some regions. Confirmation is required before the buy completes.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.7/10
Playing Links of Glory feels like waiting for the crowd to turn. Most spins are quiet, the colosseum glows, and nothing much pays – but the meter is always creeping, and the one reason to sit through that is knowing the next feature can arrive with the doors already open rather than starting from nothing.
At its best, this is one of the more rewarding builds in the Links family. A Persistent Cash Collect gathering every coin value each respin turns a modest round into a compounding one, and the protected 5,000x GRAND keeps the ceiling honest no matter what the boosters do. The downside is that the payoff is slow to reach: the base game pays thinly, and a hit rate of 34.09% means the arena stays quiet more often than it roars.
It’s a good fit for players who like a long build and will bank coins session after session for a loaded trigger, and a poor one for anyone who wants frequent bonus rounds without the grind. For the patient, the arena pays its dues.
