Lit City

LIT City Slot Review

A back alley at night, drained of colour except for the spray paint, with a cartoon cat in a purple shirt grinning beside the reels and a mouse in a dollar-sign cap asleep in the corner. That’s LIT City, a Hacksaw Gaming slot that hands almost its entire identity to a single wild symbol – and, unusually, that one idea is enough to carry it.

The game runs at 94.27% RTP with high volatility, stakes from 0.10 up to 1000, and a 12,500x maximum win. Everything is built around one cat that stretches down the reels, and this alley is worth the walk.

Base Game & Features

The look is hand-drawn and deliberately rough: a greyscale city cut through with neon-bright graffiti, a stone marker spelling out the game’s name overhead, and a mouse in a dollar-sign cap asleep in the corner. It isn’t trying to look realistic, and the art is better for the commitment.

The Wild Cat symbol is the heart of the base game. It stretches down to the bottom of its reel whenever doing so would complete at least one winning combination; otherwise it just sits there as a single wild. Each reel holds one Cat at a time, so where it lands matters: high up, it covers plenty of ground; at the bottom, almost none.

That starting position gives every Cat landing a small read of the board. You know before the animation plays whether the stretch is on, which keeps ordinary spins from blurring together.

The ordinary WILD symbol substitutes for everything in the paytable. Its real job arrives when a Wild Cat expands through it: the WILD becomes a multiplier applied across the entire expanded Cat. The full set of possible values:

• 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 10x
• 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x
• 100x, 200x

Where more than one multiplied Cat feeds the same win, the values are added together before being applied, not multiplied against each other. The combined figure then boosts the whole combination, which keeps the ceiling reachable without the arithmetic running away entirely.

Scatters are rarer than Cats by some distance. The pace stays quick, which keeps the dry stretches tolerable, though bigger stakes make them sting more.

LIT City Bonuses: Ro$$, Maxx and Bonus Buys

Ro$$ Bonus

Land three FS scatters at once in the base game and the Ro$$ Bonus opens with 10 free spins, giving Wild Cat and WILD symbols a better chance of landing than normal play does. A further three FS symbols at once during the round tacks on four more spins.

Four FS symbols together during the round hand you the Maxx Bonus at the end of that spin, with the free spin counter set to ten if fewer than ten remain, and left alone otherwise. That upgrade, earned rather than bought, is the best moment the game produces.

Maxx Bonus

Land four FS scatters in the base game and you go straight to the Maxx Bonus: 10 free spins in which every reel can be activated by landing a Wild Cat on it. Once a reel is active, a Wild Cat is guaranteed there for every remaining spin, and the same three-scatter retrigger applies.

It’s a proper progression curve. The order of events matters: a Cat lands, its reel lights up, and from that spin on the game owes you a Cat there. Early spins build the board; once several reels are active, every remaining spin arrives with guaranteed Cats already in place. The round never fully transforms, but the difference between two active reels and five is enormous.

Bonus Buy & FeatureSpins

The BUY BONUS menu sells features directly from the main game, with three FeatureSpins options and two direct bonus buys. Costs are tied to your bet level, so every price moves with your stake. At a 3.00 stake the menu prices out like this:

• Bonushunt FeatureSpins – 3x stake
• Two Wild Cats FeatureSpins – 20x stake
• Three Wild Cats FeatureSpins – 50x stake
• Ro$$ Bonus – priced between Three Wild Cats and Maxx
• Maxx Bonus – 200x stake

The FeatureSpins options stay active until switched off, guaranteeing their feature on each spin rather than for a single purchase. Each buy mode carries its own return: 94.29% for Bonushunt, 94.18% for Two Wild Cats, 94.32% for Three Wild Cats, 94.21% for the Ro$$ Bonus, and 94.33% for the Maxx Bonus.

Value sits at the cheap end of that menu. The 3x Bonushunt is the easiest to justify, and 20x Two Wild Cats buys immediate feature action without a serious commitment. The 50x Three Wild Cats option is fun but underdelivers at that price, and 200x for the Maxx Bonus is a serious outlay for the round you’d most want.

Between the two direct buys, the Ro$$ Bonus is the fairer entry point, and it carries its own upgrade path: four scatters inside the round promote you to Maxx anyway. Buying Maxx outright skips that journey, which is exactly what you’re paying 200x to do.

Our Honest Verdict

LIT City spends most of its time in that alley doing one trick, and the trick holds up. You come for the Cats – specifically for the moment a stretching Cat crosses a WILD and comes out multiplied, which never stops landing. Ro$$ is pleasant without ever surprising; the night genuinely changes when four scatters promote you into Maxx and the reels start owing you Cats every spin.

The Maxx Bonus is the strength, and it’s earned rather than bought: its reel-activation build means the round gets better the longer it runs, which is more than most free spins rounds can say. The weakness is what sits between you and it – long uneventful stretches in the base game, and a 200x asking price if you’d rather not wait.

It’s for players who like a feature that builds momentum and a mechanic simple enough to follow at a glance, and it isn’t for anyone who needs something happening on every spin. The graffiti-covered wall this cat sprawls across is worth a look; just bring a bankroll that can wait him out.

LIT City FAQs

• What is the RTP of LIT City?

LIT City runs at 94.27% RTP. Each bonus buy mode carries its own return, ranging from 94.18% to 94.33%.
• How does the Wild Cat symbol work in LIT City?

The Cat grows downward through its reel only when the stretched symbol would form part of a winning combination, and counts as wild on every position it covers. A reel can host just one Cat at a time, and a Cat with no qualifying win simply behaves as a single wild.
• How do Wild Cat multipliers work?

If a Cat expands through a WILD symbol, the WILD becomes a multiplier covering the whole expanded Cat. Where several multiplied Cats take part in one win, the values are added together, not multiplied.
• How do you trigger the Ro$$ Bonus?

Three FS scatter symbols together in the base game start the round with 10 free spins and improved odds of Wild Cat and WILD symbols. Three FS symbols during the round add four extra spins, and four FS symbols promote you to the Maxx Bonus.
• What is the Maxx Bonus in LIT City?

Four FS scatter symbols together in the base game start the Maxx Bonus with 10 free spins. A Wild Cat landing on a reel activates it, and from then on that reel carries a guaranteed Wild Cat on every remaining spin.
• Can the free spins retrigger in LIT City?

Yes. Three FS scatters appearing together in either the Ro$$ Bonus or the Maxx Bonus are worth four additional free spins.
• How much do the LIT City bonus buys cost?

Bonushunt FeatureSpins costs 3x your stake, Two Wild Cats FeatureSpins 20x, Three Wild Cats FeatureSpins 50x, and the Maxx Bonus 200x. The direct Ro$$ Bonus buy sits between the Three Wild Cats and Maxx options in price.
• What is the maximum win in LIT City?

The maximum win is 12,500x your stake. The game is highly volatile, so the ceiling sits a long way from an ordinary session.
