Masters of Olympus Slot Review 2024
Masters of Olympus from Snowborn Games continues the godly story with their newest slot, Masters of Olympus. Masters of Valhalla took us by surprise with a slot to rival even Money Train in some respects, and it remains firmly in our hearts to this day as a viable option if you’re looking for a quality slot.
This time, we’re stepping into the Greek pantheon with the legendary Zues, God of Thunder, Lightning, Rain and Winds for another glance into the newest auspicious game from the great minds at Snowborn Games.
Will Zues prove to be more formidable than Odin? Let’s check it out.
Masters of Olympus Base Game and Features
Masters of Olympus is a 5 reel slot with 1,024 ways to win. Forming winning combinations requires 3 or more of the same symbols to land from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.
The minimum bet available here is £/€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€25 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. Masters of Olympus has a theoretical RTP of 96.01% and a max win cap of 20,000x.
In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol here is Athena, followed by Ares, Apollo and Aphrodite. Low-paying symbols fall to Hearts, Spades, Clubs and Diamonds. Wilds substitute for all other symbols except Scatters.
Masters of Olympus has a few excting features available in the base game, similar to those seen in Masters of Valhalla. More on these below!
Zeus Respins – Expanding Wilds
The mighty Zeus stands tall next to the reel set, and with good reason. During the base game, each time a Wild symbol lands in view, it will be collected by Zeus.
Each collected Wild grants you a chance of triggering the Zeus Respins feature. Once active, Wild symbols on the reels will expand to fill the entire reel they appear on, triggering a Respin.
With each new respin, the Expanding Wild will move down 1 position on the reels. If additional Wilds land on the reels during this time, they will also Expand.
This feature will end when no more Wild symbols are present on the reels.
Zeus Respins – Coin Collection
During the feature, Coin symbols may also appear, which will be collected and stored in a special Meter.
Collecting 3 Coin symbols during this time will automatically trigger the Olympus Bonus. If the Spartan Booster happens to be full, then the Spartan Bonus will be awarded instead.
Masters of Olympus Bonus
Landing 3 Bonus Scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5 automatically triggers the Bonus round. The Olympus Bonus will be awarded unless the Spartan Booster has been filled, which will then trigger the Spartan Bonus instead.
Spartan Booster
Sat in the top right corner of the reel set is the Spartan Booster. During the base game, landing 1 Bonus Scatter on reels 1 and 3 will contribute towards filling the Spartan Booster.
Filling the Spartan Booster will automatically award the Spartan Bonus with the next bonus trigger. The Spartan Bonus awards 4 Respins and an increased chance of Gods and Hot Spots.
Once the Spartan Bonus has been awarded, the Spartan Booster will be reset. Progress made on the Spartan Booster is automatically saved per bet.
Olympus Bonus
The Olympus Bonus will start off with 3 random Silver or Gold Shields sticky on the reels and a total of 3 Respins.
Both the Olympus and Spartan Bonuses are Hold & Win style rounds, so each time a new Special Symbol lands in view, the Respin meter is reset back to 3.
Alongside Silver and Gold Shields, there is also other Special symbols in play, as follows.
- Silver Shields – Award a Multiplier value between 1x and 9x your bet.
- Gold Shields – Award a Multiplier value between 10x and 50x your bet.
- Poseidon – Each time a Poseidon symbol lands, it will deliver a random Multiplier value between 1x and 9x your bet and expands the reels 1 row down, up to a maximum of 2 Poseidon symbols.
- Aphrodite – Awards a random Multiplier value between 2x and 9x your bet which is then used to multiply all symbols landing on that spin and any following spin.
- Ares – Awards a random Multiplier between 1x and 9x your bet and collects the values of all present symbols for that particular spin.
- Athena – Awards a random Multiplier value between 1x and 9x your bet and collects the values of all present symbols for that particular spin and each following spin.
- Zeus – Awards a random Multiplier between 1x and 9x your bet which is then added to all other symbols present for that particular spin and any following spin.
- Apollo – Awards a random Multiplier between 1x and 9x your bet which is then added to all present symbols for that particular spin.
- Hades – Awards a random Multiplier value between 1x and 9x your bet and reactivates all Apollo and Ares symbols that landed before it.
- Hot Spots – Random positions are drawn with Hot Spots, indicating a higher chance of landing a Special symbol other than Silver or Gold Shields.
Masters of Olympus Bonus Buy
Those outside the UK will benefit from a Bonus Buy option.
Snowborn Games has granted players access to 3 Bonus Buy options, these are as follows.
- Option 1 – Triggers the Olympus Bonus for a total cost of 50x your current bet.
- Option 2 – Triggers the Spartan Bonus for a total cost of 100x your current bet.
- Option 3 – Triggers the Spartan Bonus with a guaranteed Athena symbol that collects all values for each spin, for a total cost of 250x your current bet.
Masters of Olympus: Our Verdict
Masters of Olympus is another great offering from Snowborn Games. It’s almost good enough to be a favourable offering to the gods themselves, if they were so inclined to spin the reels up in Mount Olympus.
Improvements come in the form of a Guaranteed Athena Bonus, which acts as a persistent collector on each and every spin. However, unless we’re mistaken, Masters of Olympus will be another game that is better for players within Bonus Buy territory. It wasn’t clear if there was a way to trigger the bonus with this already present, but the fact still stands that Masters of Olympus will be much more attractive to those that can jump straight into the action.
Of course regulation isn’t determined by Snowborn Studios, and we think there’s still plenty to love here, Bonus Buy or not.
Snowborn Studios has hit the nail on the head once again when it comes to graphics, and it’s checked all the boxes when it comes to imagination, features and potential. Speaking of potential, the max payout here is 20,000x, which is the same as Masters of Valhalla.
Overall, Masters of Olympus isn’t quite the ‘Money Train Killer’, but it’s a very nice alternative if you’re craving that sort of gameplay.
