Mine Blown Slot Review

Descend into the depths of a mysterious mine shaft in Netent’s latest release, Mine Blown, where dynamite-fueled spins can transform ordinary reels into rewarding wins, or can it? Looking at the stats, Mine Blown looks like it may be missing the firepower needed to succeed in the more volatile world of 2024, but it’s surely worth a look. If anyone has earned the benefit of the doubt then it’s NetEnt after bringing us arguably some of the most memorable slots to date.

Mining slots aren’t exactly few and far between – a regular slot player might have seen more of the mines than a child in Minecraft at this point. We’ve chipped away in Diamond Mine Megaways, Gold Digger, Fire in the Hole and most recently Dynamite Diggin’ Doug, and it makes you wonder what exactly it is about mining slots that have us so invested.

Netent wants in on the craze and Mine Blown is hoping to have your mind blown with its array of explosives, and hopefully, some gold to show for your hard work.

Dynamite Feature

In the base game, a special Dynamite Feature can occur at random. When this happens, a number of dynamites will explode on the reels, transforming random symbols into Wilds. In Free Spins, the dynamite explosion will transform into various Vein symbols instead of wilds.

TNT Feature

During gameplay, only 1 TNT symbol can appear on the reels. Once in view, it will explode and transform itself and other adjacent symbols into Wilds. During Free Spins, the explosion will transform into various Vein symbols instead of Wilds.

Bonus Spins

Landing 2 Trigger symbols on reels 1 and 3, plus a Bonus symbol on reel 5 triggers the Bonus Spins round, awarding 3 Bonus Spins.

During this bonus, a Mine Cart with an initial value of x3 appears below reel 3. Any Vein symbols that land will be collected into the cart and their total combined value will be awarded at the end of the round.

Conclusion

It’s hard to stand out when you run with a diluted theme, and Mine Blown doesn’t have the right stuff to stand out regardless, truth be told.

It has some reliable features, moments of hope and even excitement, but it doesn’t feel as if it packs a punch. It’s almost like the dynamite fuse starts bright only to fizzle out before the big bang. Our experience with it was admittedly limited, but in the time we did play, it felt underwhelmingly soft, almost like it had no business in dealing with explosives at all.

The maximum win of 2,484x confirms our suspicions that it’s fairly weak, at least in comparison with most slots of today. Perhaps there’s a player base that will appreciate the softer approach, and we’ll be fair in saying that it looks the business with crisp aesthetics and a fairly well-put-together array of sounds.

It’s worth a go, it could perhaps top up the balance nicely with a few hits, but you’d likely want to take those winnings elsewhere if you’re in the market for serious action.
