Mistress Of Fortune Slot Review
Pink lilies crowd the bottom of the reels and loose petals drift across a peach sky, while a blue-haired fortune-teller in a choker leans over an ornate gilt frame to watch every spin. Mistress Of Fortune is a game where the artwork does more work than the maths: the painting is the point, and the machinery underneath it is a fixed-line format that was old before Blueprint Gaming ever drew the mistress.
It runs on a 5×4 grid with 40 winlines paying left to right only, at 94.95% RTP, and a single game is capped at 250,000x the total bet. Blueprint’s fortune-themed shelf already holds Kingdom Of Fortune and Vikings Of Fortune, and this one leans harder on the artwork than either.
How Mistress Of Fortune Pays
All 40 winlines pay left to right only, starting from the first reel. Line wins are multiplied by the stake per line, not the total bet, so the value you see on a winning line reflects the per-line stake.
That distinction matters more here than in most games, because 40 lines is a lot of ground to cover. With the stake split across every winline, each individual line carries only a fortieth of what you’re wagering per spin.
Only the highest win on each line is paid. If two combinations land on the same line, the better one counts and the other is discarded. Coinciding wins on different active lines are added together.
The symbol values below are multiples of the total bet:
- Wild – 25x / 100x / 250x for three, four, five
- Red Fire Orb – 12.5x / 50x / 200x
- Blue Water Orb – 12.5x / 37.5x / 150x
- Golden Egg and Nest – 10x / 25x / 100x
- K / A – 2.5x / 20x / 75x
- J / Q / 10 – 2.5x / 10x / 50x
The symbols divide into three clear tiers. The Wild and the two orbs form the top of the paytable, the Golden Egg and Nest sits in the middle on its own, and the four card royals fill the bottom.
The Wild stands in for every paying symbol except the Bonus. It’s also the richest symbol on the grid, and the only one whose five-of-a-kind breaks into three figures at 250x.
Below it, the two orbs are close enough to be interchangeable for a triple, both paying 12.5x, but they pull apart at the top: the Red Fire Orb reaches 200x for five against the Blue Water Orb’s 150x.
The Golden Egg and Nest bridges the two halves of the paytable. Its 10x triple doubles the royals’ 2.5x, and its 100x five-of-a-kind matches the Wild’s pay for a four-of-a-kind.
The royals pay the same for a triple, 2.5x, and only separate at four and five, where the K and A run ahead of the J, Q and 10. That flat low end means small wins look alike, whatever the combination.
The gap between the top of the paytable and the royals is steep. Every meaningful win runs through the Wild or one of the orbs, and the rest of the grid is scenery between them.
Fortune Free Spins and the Scatter Bonus
The game has exactly two special features, and both hang on the same symbol. The Bonus dragon appears on the reels in the base game, and everything this slot offers flows through it.
- Trigger – any three Bonus symbols anywhere on the reels
- Scatter Bonus – a flat award of 1x the total bet
- Fortune Free Spins – 5 free spins on the same 5×4 grid
- In the round – the Mistress of Fortune character activates and reveals a symbol at random
- Wild behaviour – the wild still stands in for every symbol except the Bonus
Step by step, the round works like this. Three Bonus symbols land anywhere on the five reels, the scatter pays its flat 1x of the total bet, and the free spins begin immediately on the same 5×4 grid with the same 40 winlines.
The trigger pays out on two fronts at once. The scatter award is modest at 1x, but it lands in the same moment as the round itself, so the trigger always comes with something in hand.
During free spins the Mistress herself becomes active on screen. She reveals a symbol at random as the round plays out, and that reveal is the feature’s whole character.
It’s the one mechanic here that isn’t standard fixed-line behaviour. Everything else in the round plays exactly as the base game does, on the same grid with the same paytable.
With five spins and no multiplier or level structure around the reveal, the round is short and unhurried by design. It doesn’t restate its own rules mid-feature or stack modifiers on top of one another.
Five spins is a short round by any measure. There’s no buy-in and no alternative route to it, so the Bonus symbols land in the base game or they don’t.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 6/10
Playing this is like sitting in a beautifully painted room with a single trick in it. The reels turn, the royals pay their small and identical amounts, and the one moment of theatre is the mistress revealing a symbol while her lilies drift past. That painting is the reason anybody chooses this over the hundred other fixed-line games on the same shelf.
The presentation is the strength, and it’s a real one; nothing else in this style is drawn with this much care. The weakness is that the bonus round is barely a round: five spins, a 1x scatter and a reveal that nothing builds on, so the feature ends before it has started.
It’s a good game for someone who likes classic fixed-line slots and wants one that looks gorgeous doing it. Anyone who needs layered features, bonus buys or a round with somewhere to go will run out of things to do here. The mistress tells a lovely fortune; it’s just a short one.
