Hold on a minute…wasn’t the Nitropolis series meant to end at Nitropolis 5? Well, it seems that ELK Studios isn’t ready to part with their beloved series just yet.
Nitropolis TV brings back our favourite team of characters, Gritty Kitty, Rogue Rat, Pug Thug, and Dirty Dawg, depicted in a drawing/cartoon design. Nitro Reels and the Both Ways mechanic are also back in action in this release, with a few new additions thrown into the mix.
We’re just as surprised as you are to find the Nitropolis series back, especially when ELK Studios hyped up the Battle of Nitropolis last year, dishing out individual games for each character, and seeing them off with quite a bang.

Nitropolis TV – Base Game
Base Game & Features
Nitropolis TV is a highly volatile 6-reel Video Slot with 4,096 ways to win and bet sizes available between £.€0.20 and £.€100 per spin. Other statistics of note include an overall RTP of 94% and a generous max win cap of 10,000x your bet.
This game consists of 4 High and Low-paying symbols, awarding payouts between 0.1x and 2x your bet. Wins are accumulated when 3 or more matching symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.
Wilds substitute for all symbols except Vulture, Scatter, and Super Scatter symbols. This symbol, as well as all High and Low-paying symbols, can land in a 1×1, 2×2, or 3×3 size. Big symbols count for individual 1×1 positions.
Nitro Reels
Nitro Reels appear only on the additional Sliding Reel above the main reel set. When in view, they cover 2 symbol positions and contain 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12 identical 1×1 regular or Wild symbols.
After each spin, 1 or more Nitro Reels may activate. Once active, they are kept in play until the end of the game round. Active nitro reels will Respin in case it is part of a win and at the beginning of each Free Spin.
Upgrading Stars
Special Star Icons on individual symbols are collected reel by reel and used to activate or increase the size of a Nitro Reel above each reel to initiate more symbols. The collection phase occurs before a Respin. If a nitro reel is already maxed with 12 symbols, it will be filled with Wild symbols instead.
Vulture Symbol
During any spin, the Vulture symbol may land in view and trigger 1 of 4 individual Features, before transforming into a Wild symbol.
- Both Ways: Allows wins to be calculated from the leftmost and rightmost reels. This feature remains active until the Free Spins round is triggered or the game round ends. However, it remains active throughout the entire Super Free Spins round.
- Match Up: Chooses a random number of Low-paying symbols and replaces them with a High-paying symbol or Wild.
- Nitro Shift: Switches places with a random number of Nitro Reels to create or enhance a win. A shift may also include an inactive Nitro Reel.
- Nitro Upgrade: Activates a random number of inactive Nitro Reels and/or increases the size of activated Nitro Reels in order to contain more symbols. If a nitro reel already holds 12 symbols, it will be filled with Wilds instead.
X-iter
- Bonus Hunt: One spin with more than 4 times the chance of triggering a Free Spins mode (3x your bet)
- Spotlight: Guarantees to trigger a Vulture symbol (10x your bet)
- Showtime: Guarantees to fill an active Nitro Reel with Wild symbols, activating the Both Ways mechanic, and awarding 1 Vulture symbol (25x your bet)
- Bonus: Guarantees entry into the Free Spins round (100x your bet)
- Super Bonus: Triggers the Super Free Spins round, where a Nitro Reel is filled with Wild symbols and the Both Ways mechanic is active for the entire round. (500x your bet)
Free Spins
Landing 3, 4, 5, or 6 Scatters anywhere in the base game triggers the Free Spins mode, awarding 8, 10, 12, and 14 Free Spins respectively.
Alternatively, combining regular Scatters and Super Scatters triggers the Super Free Spins mode. The super free spins round awards an active Nitro Reel filled with Wild symbols per spin. In addition, the Both Ways mechanic is active throughout the entire feature.
During regular Free Spins, all activated Nitro Reels are held for the duration of the feature. Landing Scatter symbols at this time award an additional +1 Free Spin per scatter.
Our Verdict
After coming to terms with the end of the Nitropolis series last year, we were delighted to see Nitropolis TV pop up on our radar.
When a series like Nitropolis does so well in the iGaming market, it’s hard to fathom why the provider would want to give it up. Luckily, ELK Studios has had a change of heart and decided to continue the series, but is this the final testament?
If you’re a big fan of the Nitropolis series and the recurring features each game delivers, you’ll be pleased to see some of them return to Nitropolis TV. This game feels far less complex than the others, revealing only Nitro Reels and the Both Ways mechanic.
The addition of Upgrading Stars ties in beautifully with the Nitro Reels feature, giving the game its own appeal against the series. As with all Nitropolis titles, non-UK players can participate in a number of features and Free Spins rounds by utilising a number of X-iter options, including a highly-anticipating Super Free Spins mode.
Statistically, Nitropolis TV follows suit of its predecessors, dishing out an overall RTP of 94% and a high volatility rating. However, the max win cap is not quite as impressionable as the individual character titles.
