Perú Candyland Slot Review
Machu Picchu rebuilt in sweets: green terraces climbing the left of the screen, a stepped ruin with a river of pink syrup running through it, lollipops sprouting from the slopes like alpine flowers. Perú Candyland’s odd claim is that the scatter-pays formula famous for punishing bankrolls works better when it stops shouting.
Pragmatic Play have kept the tumble-and-multiplier loop but dialled the variance down to low. It’s a 6×5 grid where symbols pay anywhere on screen, running at 96.51% RTP (operators can go as low as 96.49%) with low volatility. It’s the formula behind Gates of Olympus, Sweet Bonanza and Fruit Party, the loud cousins. This one wants to be the gentle one.
Base Game & Features
There are no paylines. Symbols pay anywhere on the screen, and the total number of the same symbol visible at the end of a spin determines the win.
Land eight or more of a symbol and it pays; land twelve or more and it pays properly. Three pay tiers apply to every symbol, at 8-9, 10-11 and 12 or more of a kind.
Position doesn’t matter at all. Nine grapes scattered across all six reels pay exactly what nine grapes clustered in one corner would, which removes the usual hunt for near-miss lines along the middle rows.
The Tumble Feature
Every win triggers a tumble. The sequence runs in a fixed order: winning symbols are paid and removed, the remaining symbols fall to the bottom of the grid, and empty positions are refilled with symbols from above.
If the refill creates a new winning combination, the same thing happens again. Tumbling continues until no new winning combination appears, and there’s no limit to how many tumbles a single spin can chain.
All wins from the sequence are added to your balance once the tumbles finish, not as they land. A long chain can build quietly and pay out in one go.
Symbols and Pays
The paytable is a food fight: sundaes and berry bowls at the top, onion rings and candy pancakes in the middle, and fruit down the bottom. Pays below are multiples of your total bet.
- Sundae/Parfait: 10x for 8-9, 25x for 10-11, 50x for 12+
- Berry Bowl/Yogurt: 2.5x for 8-9, 10x for 10-11, 25x for 12+
- Onion Rings/Fritters: 2x for 8-9, 5x for 10-11, 15x for 12+
- Candy Pancakes: 1.5x for 8-9, 2x for 10-11, 12x for 12+
- Apple: 1x for 8-9, 1.5x for 10-11, 10x for 12+
- Apricot: 0.8x for 8-9, 1.2x for 10-11, 8x for 12+
- Custard Apple/Guanabana: 0.5x for 8-9, 1x for 10-11, 5x for 12+
- Grapes: 0.4x for 8-9, 0.9x for 10-11, 4x for 12+
- Banana: 0.25x for 8-9, 0.75x for 10-11, 2x for 12+
Only the highest win for each symbol counts, so a screen full of mixed fruit pays each of its symbols once rather than stacking combinations. Stakes run from 0.20 to 240.00 per spin.
There’s no wild symbol in the game, so nothing substitutes for anything: what lands is what pays. The scatter is the only symbol with a job beyond its face value.
Ante Bet and Double Chance
Two bet options change how you approach the bonus, and they’re mutually exclusive. At the 20x bet multiplier, the Free Spins Round can be purchased for 100x total bet, and the odds of triggering it naturally are unchanged.
The 25x multiplier, offered as the Double Chance to Win toggle, doubles the chance of triggering free spins naturally by adding more scatter symbols to the reels. Your stake rises by a quarter to pay for it.
The trade is straightforward: buy outright at 20x, or gamble on a doubled trigger at 25x. Switching on the toggle disables the purchase option, so it’s one route or the other.
Perú Candyland Free Spins & Bonus Features
Free Spins
Four or more scatter symbols anywhere on the screen award the Free Spins Round, which starts with 10 free spins. Scatters pay nothing on their own here; the round itself is the prize.
Three or more scatters during the round add five more, with no stated cap on retriggers. A round that keeps feeding itself scatters can run a long way past its starting ten.
Special reels are in play during the round. In practice that means two things: the symbol mix changes, and the multiplier symbols show up.
Tumbles run inside the round exactly as they do outside it, which is what makes the multipliers matter. Every tumble is a chance to add another one to the screen before the sequence closes.
Multiplier Symbols
Multiplier symbols appear only during free spins. They land with a random value and stay on screen until the tumble sequence ends.
When the sequence does end, the values of all multiplier symbols on screen are added together and the total win of the sequence is multiplied by that final figure. Two 25x symbols on screen at the close means a 50x sequence.
The possible values:
- 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 8x, 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x or 100x
A single 100x multiplier landing at the end of a long tumble chain is where the real money in this game lives. Stacked multipliers are what turn a modest sequence into something memorable.
Bonus Buy
The Buy Feature purchases the Free Spins Round outright for 100x total bet. At the minimum stake that’s 20.00 for ten guaranteed spins with multiplier symbols in play; at the top stake it’s 24,000.
It’s only available at the 20x bet multiplier; switch on the Double Chance toggle and the button goes away. The buy also bypasses the base game’s slowest stretch, which on a low volatility title is a consideration rather than a cure.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.1/10
This is a slot you play for the scenery as much as the wins. You spin, things tumble, smallish payments arrive often enough that the session never stalls, and every so often the free spins round turns a quiet afternoon into the best five minutes of it. A candy citadel in the Andes is a ridiculous place to spend an evening, and the game knows it.
The best thing here is that the multiplier stacking still matters at low volatility. Chasing multipliers through a long tumble chain gives this game its one real spike of drama, and the retrigger can keep a good round breathing.
The worst thing is the paytable. Fifty times your stake for a perfect screen of the top symbol is thin by any standard.
For players who enjoy the tumble loop but not the bruising variance that usually comes with it, this is an easy recommendation; anyone chasing four-figure hits won’t find them on this mountain. It’s a gentle walk up a very sweet hill, and it doesn’t pretend to be a climb.
