Rabbit in the Hat – Tap N Cash Slot Review
A conjurer pulls the rabbit out once and the trick is done; this game makes you pay for every attempt. Under the bulb lights and the deep red curtains of Rabbit in the Hat – Tap N Cash, one tap either pulls a run of prizes out of the navy top hat or ends the round on the spot, and the hat keeps the odds firmly on its side of the stage.
It comes from Coin Machine Gaming, and there’s not a reel in sight. No paylines, no spins – just a hidden rabbit and seventeen cash prizes waiting on a single tap. It runs at 96.14% RTP on high volatility, with stakes from 0.05 to 25.00, and it sits in the studio’s tap-first line alongside Cash Court – Tap n Cash and Cash Hog – Turbo Tap.
Base Game & Features
The aim is simple: the rabbit awards prizes. Each game consists of seventeen cash prizes and one bonus prize, and you confirm your bet before every round. The prizes displayed are based on your current stake, so the whole ladder scales with whatever you’re playing at.
A round runs in a fixed order. Confirm your bet, tap to reveal the rabbit hidden in the hat, and the round resolves one way or the other. A successful round highlights the prize on the ladder. An unsuccessful one ends the game on the spot, and nothing carries over to the next tap.
A successful reveal awards between two and ten prizes, all handed out at random, and no prize can be awarded twice in the same game. That no-repeat rule is what gives a round its shape: the more prizes a reveal hands out, the further up the ladder it has to reach, because the cheap rungs burn off first.
It also means the two ends of a round look nothing alike. A two-prize reveal lives entirely in the ladder’s lower half, where even a clean hit can return less than the stake you just tapped away. A ten-prize reveal has to sweep through the cheap rungs and keep going, which is the only route to the 20.00x step and beyond.
Wins land on 17.11% of rounds, which works out at roughly one in six. Five misses in a row is the expected rhythm here, not a cold streak. That single number, more than any rung on the ladder, is what a session actually feels like.
The prize ladder is the whole paytable. Each tier pays the following, as a multiple of your stake, for a successful reveal:
- Prize – 0.20x
- Prize – 0.40x
- Prize – 0.60x
- Prize – 0.80x
- Prize – 1.00x
- Prize – 1.20x
- Prize – 1.40x
- Prize – 2.00x
- Prize – 3.00x
- Prize – 5.00x
- Prize – 6.00x
- Prize – 10.00x
- Prize – 12.00x
- Prize – 20.00x
- Prize – 50.00x
- Prize – 100.00x
- Prize – 750.00x
The shape of that ladder is bottom-heavy. Most rungs cluster in small change, and the jump from the second-highest step to the top one is bigger than the entire lower half of the ladder put together. A ten-prize reveal is the only route to the interesting money, and it’s the rarest thing the game does.
The maximum win is capped at 7,500x your stake. Between the no-repeat rule and the capped prize count, a single round is bounded by construction. Everything past that is down to which rungs the rabbit picks.
Rabbit in the Hat – Tap N Cash Bonus Features & Free Plays
The Bonus prize is the one entry on the ladder that isn’t cash. Popping it during the base game awards a free spin of the wheel, and that single spin settles two things at once:
- 6, 8, 10 or 12 free plays
- A 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x or 10x multiplier
Both are awarded at random, and both are fixed for the whole round. Free plays don’t require an additional bet: the feature runs on whatever you last staked in the base game, so it’s worth settling your stake before the wheel ever turns.
During the round, every prize is a cash prize and every one of them is multiplied by the multiplier you received. The plays run out automatically, one after another, with nothing to decide in between. Wins from the feature are added to base game wins.
Because the multiplier applies to everything, the spread between a minimum and a maximum round is wide. The same twelve plays that pay pocket change on a 2x can climb steeply on a 10x, and there’s no way to know which you’ve drawn until the wheel stops.
There’s no re-trigger. When the free plays finish, you return to the base game and that’s the end of it. The maths of the round is straightforward: the multiplier does the same job regardless of where it lands, so a big round needs the plays and the multiplier pulling the same direction.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7/10
This is the purest version of the magician’s trick: you pay for the ticket, you watch the hat, and the reveal does all the work. One tap per round, no decisions after the stake, and the whole game resolves in seconds. That total simplicity is the reason to choose it – nothing between you and the result.
The ladder is the strength. Seventeen rungs on a single reveal, with the multiplier able to land on top of the best of them, is a wide spread for an instant-win game, and the no-repeat rule means a big reveal genuinely has to climb. The weakness is everything around it: Free Plays is the only bonus, it can’t re-trigger, and with five rounds in six paying nothing, the stage spends most of its time empty.
It’s one for instant-win players who like setting a stake and letting reveals do the rest, and the 0.05 minimum makes it painless to find out. Anyone who wants features arriving mid-spin, or something to think about between rounds, won’t find it here. As a quick act between bigger shows, the hat earns its spot on the boards.
