Rainbow Riches Power Pitch Slot Review 2024

Ah Rainbow Riches. A slot gloriously immortalised in the slot hall of fame.

If you’ve been playing slots for more than 10 minutes then you’ve probably heard of Rainbow Riches, and you might have even seen it in bookies, clubs or land-based casinos. It truly is one of the most recognisable games in the industry, and even when a new one comes along it seems to retain that classic mien that we love so much

Rainbow Riches Power Pitch is the latest to join the Rainbow Riches family, and it has plenty of features to show that Rainbow Riches is far from done.

Let’s take a look at the newest in the series together in this Rainbow Riches Power Pitch Slot Review!

Rainbow Riches Power Pitch Base Game

Rainbow Riches Power Pitch Base Game and Features

Rainbow Riches Power Pitch is a 5 reel slot with 10 fixed paylines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

The minimum bet available to players is £/€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€10 per spin, with an ample selection of betting options in between the two. Rainbow Riches Power Pitch has a theoretical RTP of 94.05% and a maximum win capacity of 5,000x.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol here is the Rainbow Riches Logo, followed by the Hat, Mushroom, Harp and Horseshoe. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen and Jack. There is also a Wild symbol present which substitutes for all other symbols except Scatters.

Other than Wilds appearing more often than not, Rainbow Riches Power Pitch focuses mainly on the Power Pitch Feature, so there isn’t a great deal going on in the base game. More on the Power Pitch feature below!

Power Pitch Feature

Landing 3, 4 or 5 Scatters across the reels triggers the Power Pitch feature, awarding 3 Respins. Depending on how many triggering Scatters land, the Money Zone will vary in size. 3 Scatters award a 9×5 grid, 4 Scatters award a 10×5 grid and 5 Scatters award an 11×5 grid.

During this round, there are a number of special Modifiers and Cash values in play. Each time a new symbol lands across the grid, it will become sticky and remain in its position for the duration of Respins and the Respins meter will be reset back to 3.

  • Wishing Well Modifier – The wishing well symbol collects up all Cash values on the grid and stores the total on itself.
  • Rainbow Modifier – Increases the number of Respins from 3 to 4. Only 1 Rainbow symbol can land during this round.
  • Fairy Modifier – The fairy symbol will fly across the grid and Double the amount of any Cash value symbols it interacts with.
  • Leprechaun Modifier – When a leprechaun symbol lands, it will spin to reveal a Multiplier value between x2 and x10. This multiplier is then applied to all adjacent positions on the grid, known as Hot Zones. Any symbols, new or old in these positions will have the awarded Multiplier applied to them.

If a column is completely filled with Modifiers or Cash symbols, an extra column will be added to the grid, but the grid can never exceed 11×5 in size. If you happen to fill the entire grid with Modifiers or Cash symbols, the Power Pitch feature will end and a fixed prize of 10,000x is awarded.

Rainbow Riches Power Pitch: Premium Play

If you’re only looking to play the Power Pitch feature and nothing else, Light & Wonder has included a Premium Play option for players to take advantage of. Please note that the Premium Play option may not be available to players in certain jurisdictions.

Premium Play is played out across 3 reels with 1 active win line. Only Scatters and Coin symbols are active during this time. Landing 3 Scatters during Premium Play will trigger the Power Pitch feature.

  • Option 1 – If the Power Pitch feature is triggered via this option, the round will be played across a 9×5 grid. This option will cost a total of 2x per spin.
  • Option 2 – If the Power Pitch feature is triggered via this option, the round will be played across a 10×5 grid. This option will cost a total of 5x per spin.
  • Option 3 – If the Power Pitch feature is triggered via this option, the round will be played across an 11×5 grid. This option will cost a total of 10x per spin.

Landing 1, 2 or 3 Coins symbols will award a Cash prize of 2x, 4x and 6x respectively.

Rainbow Riches Power Pitch: Our Verdict

Rainbow Riches Power Pitch is an incredibly diverse game with lots to experience.

The Base Game is fairly standard, but that’s not uncommon for a Rainbow Riches slot. Most of the excitement seems to be reserved for the bonus round, and Rainbow Riches Power Pitch has an exciting bonus round indeed.

The Wishing Well, Rainbow, Fairy and Leprechaun features as as interesting as you’d expect them to be, and each shake up the game in their own way. It almost seems like a Money Train kind of slot in a weird kind of way. There’s not as much in the way of crazy persistent features, but the Wishing Well Feature is a collector, and the Fairy is a sort of sniper in the way she doubles the values of collected symbols.

The potential here isn’t as staggering as the Money Train series either, but a respectable 5,000x is nothing to scoff at, and we’re not sure a super volatile Rainbow Riches would be suitable for the audience it attracts.

Seemingly Light and Wonder have the formula just right with this one. No Rainbow Riches game can attain the sort of notoriety of the original and others that took the casino world by storm, but it’s a proud addition to the collection of games that players just can’t get enough of.
