Roaring Lions – Oranje Jackpot Slot Review
The king of the jungle, or savannah in this case, prowls the reels. Roaring Lions forces the apex predator to take centre stage, jazzed up as a jackpot slot.
From Pragmatic Play, this is a 5×3, 243-ways slot with high volatility, and a 92.04% RTP. Stakes run from 0.20 to 240.00 per spin. There’s a 5,000x win cap, a bonus buy, and up to four progressive jackpots riding on top.
The jackpots are what give Roaring Lions its biggest bite, with the potential to appear at the end of any base game spin, regardless of what happened on the reels. But enough talk, let’s sink our teeth in everything Roaring Lions has to offer.

Base Game & Features
The reels are stocked with African wildlife. Wins need three or more matching symbols on adjacent reels from the left.
- Rhino: pays 2.5x for three, 5x for four and a top award of 15x for five
- Buffalo: 1.5x, 3x, then 10x from three up to five of a kind
- Leopard: worth 1.25x, 2.5x or 7.5x depending on how many land
- Meerkat: 1x for three, doubling to 2x for four and 5x for five
- Flamingo: the weakest of the animals at 0.75x, 1.5x and 3.75x
- A and K: 0.5x at the bottom, rising to 1x and then 2.5x
- Q and J: the low end of the table at 0.25x, 0.5x and 1x

Money and Collect Symbols
Money symbols land as lion coins carrying a multiplier of the total bet. They can appear on reels one to four, while the Collect symbol lands only on reel five. Whenever a Collect arrives alongside Money symbols, every value on screen is gathered up and paid in one go.
The coin values are drawn from a fixed set, from 2x all the way up to 500x.
The Ante Bet
Two bet multipliers are on offer. At 20x, it’s normal play. Switch to 25x and more scatter symbols are added to the reels, raising the chance of triggering the free spins round naturally. The catch is that the bonus buy switches off while the ante is active.
Jackpot Bonus Game
Up to four progressive jackpots run simultaneously: Mini, Maxi, Mega and Giga. The bonus can trigger at random at the end of any base game spin, with a minimum stake of 0.20 to be eligible. It never fires during a feature.
The round itself is a picking game. Items are opened one at a time until three carry the same jackpot name, and that’s the one you win.
Roaring Lions – Oranje Jackpot Free Spins
The three lion scatters are what the pots above the reels have been counting. When one, two or three of them hit, free spins can trigger at random, bringing with them the modifiers linked to whichever lions landed on that spin. The round starts with six free spins.
Inside the round, every Money symbol pays out on arrival, with no Collect symbol needed. That alone makes the feature feel different from the base game, where the coins wait for reel five to cooperate.
The Lion Modifiers
- Golden Lion: puts x2 and x3 multipliers across reels 1 and 2
- Silver Lion: the middle of the grid gets x3, x5 and x3 on reels 2, 3 and 4
- Black Lion: the right-hand side picks up x3 and x2 on reels 4 and 5
- All three active: a x10 multiplier is set on reel 3
Multipliers stack on top of any already in place. Whenever one or more modifiers trigger during the round, three additional free spins are awarded, and special reels are in play throughout.

Buy Free Spins
From the base game, the round can be bought outright for 80x the total bet.
On the triggering spin, one, two or three modifiers can hit at random, so a bought round doesn’t guarantee the full three-lion setup.

Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 6.5/10
Roaring Lions is all about the hunt – the base game can feel relatively quiet, with coins gathering above the reels while you wait to see if the golden pots are worthwhile. The saving grace is that any spin in the base game can suddenly end with a jackpot, giving you plenty of reason to keep spinning.
The Free Spins are where this lion really shows off its teeth. Coins can pay without needing a Collect, multipliers stack, and landing a lion can award additional free spins to keep the action going.
The main problem, as with many jackpot slots, with the lower RTP of 92.04%. You’re effectively paying for your chance at the jackpot hunt every spin, whether you bag one or not, which might be off-putting to players who value getting bigger returns.
All in all, Roaring Lions has a decent enough bite but it’s not quite king of the jungle. Progressive hunters will find plenty to keep them happy, but it’s definitely not everyone’s cup of tea.
