Base Game & Features
Santa’s Golden Christmas is a 5-reel Video Slot with a reel configuration of 3-3-4-4-5. Bet sizes vary between £.€0.10 per spin and £.€1,000 per spin, with an overall RTP of 96.13% and a max win cap of 5,760x your bet.
Winning combinations are created when 3 or more matching symbols land from left to right, across 720 ways to win. This game has a total of 8 High and Low-paying symbols, awarding payouts between 0.2x and 8x your bet. Wilds appear on reels 2-5, substituting for all paytable symbols.
Special Symbols
Alongside regular paytable symbols, the base game consists of multiple Special Symbols that appear on the reels – these include:
- Snowflakes: Appear on any reel in the base game, acting as a Scatter symbol
- Golden Gifts: Appear on all reels during Free Spins. Golden Gifts receive random Cash Prizes between 0.2x and 20x your bet
- Blank Symbols: Appear on the reels during Free Spins, acting as a blocker symbol and does not participate in winning combinations
Santa’s Jackpot Wheel
When Snowflake symbols land, they are collected for a chance to trigger Santa’s Jackpot Wheel. All 5 Jackpot Prizes are displayed above the reels, increasing by 0.5x each time a Snowflake symbol lands on a corresponding reel.
When the Jackpot Wheel is active, 1 of 5 Jackpot Prizes is awarded at random – these include:
- Mini: Between 5x and 75x your bet
- Minor: Between 10x and 100x your bet
- Major: Between 50x and 250x your bet
- Mega: Between 200x and 1,000x your bet
- Grand: Between 1,000x and 5,000x your bet
Free Spins
The Free Spins round is triggered when each of the 5 reels reveals a Scatter that spells out ‘Bonus’. Once active, an initial 3 Free Spins are awarded.
At the start of Free Spins, each Bonus Scatter transforms into a Golden Gift symbol and locks into position. All other unlocked positions will spin to reveal Golden Gift or Blank symbols. If new Golden Gift symbols land, they are held for the duration and reset the spins meter to 3.
When all positions in a row are filled, the column is cleared. All Cash Prizes are collected and the Global Multiplier increases to the next level. At the end of Free Spins, all Cash Prizes are multiplied by the current Global Multiplier.
Global Multiplier
The global multiplier consists of 10 Levels with Multipliers of x1, x1.5, x2, x2.5, x3, x4, x5, x6, x8, and x10. If Bonus Scatters land on 4 reels in the base game, the Multiplier increases by +1 level.
Our Verdict
Christmas slots will always have a strong appeal this time of year, but they need to make a good impression to remain popular throughout the festive season each year.
Santa’s Golden Christmas is your traditional Christmas title, with a beautifully decorated tree and the glow of the fireplace – you can practically feel the cosiness and warmth coming from the game.
In the base game, above each reel, are Jackpot Prizes which increase when Snowflake symbols land on respective reels. With the reel configuration set at 3-3-4-4-5, it’s harder to land these symbols, as is the case with winning combinations. Once the Jackpot Wheel is triggered, you are guaranteed to receive 1 of the 5 Jackpot Prizes.
Another tricky, but not impossible, task is triggering Free Spins. Instead of traditional Scatter symbols, Fantasma Games has given players the gruelling task of landing individual Scatters that spell out ‘Bonus’ across each of the 5 reels. Surprisingly, during testing, we found the Free Spins round to trigger frequently.
This round is more of a Hold & Win scenario than a Free Spins mode, which requires new Golden Gift symbols to appear in order to reset the Spins meter. The good news is that when a reel is filled, the Global Multiplier increments to the next available level. At the end of the round, your total win is multiplied by this figure.
