Walking Stacked Wilds

The Walking Stacked Wilds feature is triggered when a full stack of Wilds appears on reels 2-4. The Wild Stack will shift left or right with each Respin until it reaches the end of the reel set and drops off.

The Split Feature occurs when a full stack of Wilds appears on reel 3. This causes the stack to transform into a Bowling Pin which splits in two, positioning them on reels 2 and 4. The splitting Wilds will follow the same Respin function until they reach the end of the reel set and drop off.

Bet+

  • Bonus Boost: Each spin is 2 times more likely to trigger the Bonus Game (1.4x your bet)
  • Bonus Boost Plus: Each spin is 5 times more likely to trigger the Bonus Game (2.5x your bet)

Bonus Buy

Non-UK players can participate in a Bonus Buy option, where the Bonus Game can be purchased for 100x their bet.

Bonus Game

Landing 3 Scatters in the base game triggers the Bonus Game, awarding 5 Free Spins. If Scatters appear during Respins, they are held in the Bonus Meter at the bottom of the reel set.

During Free Spins, a Global Multiplier starting at x1 is active, displayed outside the reel set. Its value increases by +x1 each time a Respin occurs and applies to all wins that feature a full Wild Stack. The Global Multiplier does not reset between spins.

The Power Reset activates when a full stack of Wilds appears, resetting the number of Free Spins. Please note, that Respins do not affect the Free Spins count, while the Power Reset cannot reset the Multiplier.

Our Verdict

Thunderkick has been known for many things – adventures in the sky with steampunk pirates in Riders of the Storm, mythological beasts in their Beat the Beast series, Elephants with a pink hue, and exploding root vegetables in Hot Potato.

Split Happens may not be quite as eccentric, but we’ll admit we can’t recall many bowling slots. It’s an overlooked sport in the world of iGaming, now represented by Thunderkick and packaged up with some staple features. Split Happens features a Walking Wild feature, and a Split feature, hence its name. A split is normally a troublesome scenario in bowling, but in slots, it can only be good.

Free Spins ups the ante with a global multiplier that does not reset. This significantly increases the potential, but unfortunately, there are no extra features to witness during the bonus round. Free Spins can be reset thanks to its Power Reset, but if we’re honest, it feels slightly underwhelming.

The stats would back it up it seems, with a max win of only 3,000x. 10,000x seems to be the standard now, and we’re not sure 3,000x will cut it with players hungry for more volatility.

Split Happens was quite amusing to try, but it’s not a standout Thunderkick title unfortunately.
